Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

And since the Mechanical Race has suffered such losses, the pressure on the front line will undoubtedly decrease further. We can attack more freely and inflict losses on the Mechanical Race.

The more losses the Mechanical Race incurs, the happier Chen Ming, who inflicted losses on the Mechanical Race, will be.

Although Chen Ming might have other ideas, Bai Quan can assure that Chen Ming’s thoughts definitely include what he wants.

Bai Quan understood Chen Ming’s meaning.

He organized the documents to send them to the front line and sent them over.

However, he didn’t rush to end this conversation but brought up another topic.

”The Legion has recently started drafting military merits for you again.”

Chen Ming asked, ”Military merits? What military merits? Wasn’t it what Qiu Bowen promised before?”

”No, he will find another opportunity to give you that later. I’m talking about military merits that the Legion is drafting for you.”

”It’s about the two things you did before: obtaining detailed star maps and defense maps of the Mechanical Race’s Star Realm, and your discovery of the correlation between dimensional infection and the Crimson Dimension.”

”Oh.”

Chen Ming understood.

”I can understand the first one, but the latter one...”

Bai Quan explained, ”After all, it’s a significant discovery.”

”As long as phase technology can be developed, it can suppress dimensional infection, accelerate the treatment of dimensional infections, and protect the entire Empire.”

”The Legion can benefit as well, so, of course, they’ll reward you internally.”

”Just like how the first person who discovered phase space didn’t pursue in-depth research on phase technology, but his contributions were recognized. The organization he belonged to rewarded him internally; the Legion will do the same this time.”

”The Legion might even use you as an example for publicity.”

”Rewards are fine, but as for publicity, I may not have time.”

Bai Quan continued to explain, ”Just take a couple of photos and do a brief interview; it won’t take long.”

”Alright, when will the contribution points be allocated?”

”Not anytime soon. Last time, it took more than a month; this time will definitely take longer, and contribution points are just the basics. There will be other rewards; you might as well care about those.”

”There are others? Specifically, what will there be?”

”The department responsible for this is also troubled, not knowing what they’ll finally give you.”

”Most likely, it’s not in terms of military rank; it should be material or other aspects.”

”You’re a Colonel now; higher up than this, they can’t really promote you beyond General Level due to your short tenure in the Legion.”

Chen Ming didn’t have much opinion; he didn’t value military rank much and didn’t need it to prove anything.

After all, not just any General Level could stand on equal footing with him now.

”I hope they give me something useful.”

”I’ll help you keep an eye on it.”

After Bai Quan said his piece, Chen Ming also didn’t hurry to hang up the call.

He had other questions to ask, regarding the Mechanical Race war.

The start of the Mechanical Race war was much earlier than he initially expected, causing him not to have completed all of the military command courses.

He could only say that he knew parts about the specific situations, trends, and ultimate victory methods of the war, but it wasn’t complete.

He needed to ask more accurately.

However, Bai Quan indicated that the situation and circumstances would be clear on the front line, knowing now is pointless as they constantly change.

As for the method of victory.

Bai Quan explained in detail: ”The ultimate goal of this Mechanical Race war is to seize the Mechanical Race’s Star Realm, obtaining war benefits, to suppress the various problems arising from long-term stagnation within the Empire due to dimensional infection sequelae.”

”The war’s goal from the beginning was aimed at seizing the Star Realm.”

”To seize the Star Realm, you must eliminate the Mechanical Race’s influence in this area, destroy the core star systems within the Mechanical Race Star Realm, dismantle all shipyards, knock down all Mother Ships, cut off their communication networks, and completely drive them out.”

”The main challenge is to find ways to occupy or destroy those core star systems of the Mechanical Race.”

”The core star systems can further be divided into different categories.”

”For example, important logistics nodes of the Mechanical Race, star systems that host Star Gates, those large industrial planets, as well as military star systems; the targets are quite numerous.”

”Originally, we should have gradually investigated these star systems while attacking the Mechanical Race, but thanks to your intelligence, it has saved us from a considerable amount of effort.”

”There are a total of one hundred and thirty-seven star systems that can count as core systems, with three hundred and two core planets.”

”Currently, six core star systems and seven core planets have been occupied, all thanks to the recent frontier battle achievements.”

”Solve seventy percent of these core star systems and planets, and the Mechanical Race is as good as dead.”

Chen Ming asked, ”Are there any star systems that are the most important?”

”Yes.”

Bai Quan directly reported the coordinates of three star systems and said, ”These three star systems are the most important for the Mechanical Race.”

”Two have the only two giant docks in this Star Realm belonging to the Mechanical Race, and one has the Mechanical Race’s Spiritual Signal Generator.”

”Spiritual Signal Generator? What’s that?”

”This was also found from a project you previously proposed.”

Chen Ming asked, puzzled, ”I proposed it?”

”Yes, at first you mentioned that the Mechanical Race utilized spiritual means to create a hive mind network, and then it was verified that the Mechanical Race indeed constructed a hive mind using spiritual energy.”

”Later, specific researchers worked on this project, and by interrupting the Spiritual Energy signals of individual Mechanical Race units from different locations, they determined the location of the Mechanical Race’s Spiritual Signal Generator based on signal speed and delay differences.”

”Destroying it would likely sever the Mechanical Race’s hive mind network.”

”I can’t believe this is happening.”

”You didn’t expect that, did you? But judging by the defense map you provided earlier, the Mechanical Race indeed stationed heavy troops there, which pretty much confirms it. Even if the defenses are changed, the guards there would only increase, not decrease.”

”Additionally, as for other important star systems...”

Bai Quan smoothly read out the coordinates of seven star systems again: ”These seven star systems all possess Star Gates, dividing the Mechanical Race star realm into seven Star Zones. The value of destroying Star Gates needs no further explanation from me.”

”In total, these ten star systems are considered the most important. Even if all others are not dealt with, directly dealing with these ten would basically solve the Mechanical Race star realm problem.”

”If these ten star systems can be eliminated, then our main ships can just steamroll through, and the rest would just be garbage time.”

”However, under normal circumstances, it’s a pity that it’s not feasible. We need to slowly reduce the Mechanical Race’s combat power, starting step by step from our bordering frontier, and penetrate deeper to dismantle those crucial star systems.”

”Understood.”

Chen Ming earnestly recorded all the coordinates and points for winning the war, then asked, ”By the way, are there any other important ones? What about the Mechanical Race’s new weapons?”

Bai Quan said, ”The Destroyer and other Spiritual Weapons you mentioned last time don’t need to worry too much; there will be ways to deal with them.”

”My main concern is the Empire’s attitude towards Psychics. Without Psychics, it’s difficult to contend against the Mechanical Race.”

”Everyone knows this, but as I mentioned before, the Empire’s attitude towards Psychics is changing; this time, the situation will be different.”

Bai Quan also knows that Chen Ming, as a Psychic, can sense that the Empire’s prior attitude towards Psychics was essentially laissez-faire, as long as they didn’t cause trouble, they were mostly left alone.

But when facing battlefield scenarios that require Psychics, the Empire suddenly needs them. This contradictory attitude is a headache for anyone involved.

Not to mention from Chen Ming’s perspective, whether the Empire would truly value Psychics was uncertain.

So Bai Quan reassured, ”Rest assured, in this war, Psychics will definitely play a crucial role and will surely receive the recognition they deserve.”

”Are you sure?”

”Yes, a few days ago, I was specifically approached for a talk.”

”You can be sure that the Empire’s attitude towards Psychics is definitely very proactive.”

”In places you are unaware of, many Psychics have already been enlisted, with each unique Psychic’s ability having a team tailored around them.”

”Firstly, this enlistment is absolutely non-compulsory.”

”Then you need to know not only the front line but logistics and behind enemy lines also have places where people are needed.”

”All Psychics have been individually assigned the most suitable tasks to execute.”

Chen Ming asked puzzled, ”All of them? Most suitable? How much resource would that consume?”

”That’s the decision of the Empire.”

”All battle achievements will be recorded, and in most cases, efforts will be made to highlight the contributions of those Psychics.”

”Wait, highlight Psychic contributions? Are you sure?”

”Definitely.”

Bai Quan nodded, ”Because the Empire wants to bring Psychics into the open.”

”The Empire will announce the existence of Psychics during this war.”
