Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

The Destruction Carrier didn’t linger long in the star system where the Insect Race fleet was gathered, quickly activating its teleportation engine again.

The teleportation engine of the main ship is more effective than that of the cruiser, allowing multiple jumps in a short time, though still limited and incomparable to Chen Ming’s maintenance spiritual energy.

This time, the location where the carrier jumped was naturally another place where Chen Ming attacked the Mechanical Race.

That border star realm.

As the Destruction arrived in the phase space of the Mechanical Race’s border star system.

The Insect Race fleet, led by the Black Mist Prosthetic, continued its reckless charge, but the prosthetic on one of the Insect Race warships immediately chose to retreat.

The Black Mist Prosthetic was meant to attract attention, and having done so, the mission was complete; there was no need to remain and clash head-on with the Mechanical Race’s Destruction.

It’s impossible to match it.

The moment the carrier loaded with the Destruction arrived, it unhesitatingly activated the Destruction again.

Even the Insect Race fleet, shielded by a dense black mist, couldn’t withstand the impact of the Destruction for even a millisecond.

The Black Mist Prosthetic couldn’t compete with the main level weapons of the main ship.

Not even with Chen Ming’s support.

A moment’s hesitation for the Black Mist Prosthetic would only lead to the same fate as those vanished Insect Race warships.

If Chen Ming were in peak condition and tried to resist with his spiritual energy, he might hold out for a while.

But Chen Ming wasn’t in a good spiritual state, recovering slowly from exhaustion, and was working with spiritual power converted into black mist.

It’s impossible to endure, and there’s no need to.

So, when the Destruction activated again to clear out the Insect Race here.

Besides the retreat of the Black Mist Prosthetic, Chen Ming immediately split the black mist-covered Insect Race fleet into several groups.

One group stayed behind to continue destroying local Mechanical Race colonies and various facilities, while the rest of the Insect Race fleet immediately jumped.

Some moved further, closer to the Empire, seizing the last chance to attack more Mechanical Race planets.

Another part jumped to the vicinity of unclaimed planets bordering the Mechanical Race Star Realm, leaving behind insect eggs for a future resurgence.

This was Chen Ming’s goal, and he wanted the Mechanical Race and the Empire’s scout fleet still observing the battlefield to witness this.

He didn’t have the fleet led by the Black Mist Prosthetic jump to the Nebula Region to take advantage of the Destruction Carrier’s presence here to deal with another Mechanical Race carrier and its cruisers he’d encountered before.

Though it was a great opportunity to destroy the Mechanical Race’s core forces, the Empire’s scout ships were watching the Black Mist Insect Race fleet’s movements.

And there were no Empire ships in the Nebula Region.

If Chen Ming chose to have the border Insect Race fleet jump to the Nebula Region, the Empire would likely quickly discover what Chen Ming was doing.

If the activities in the Nebula Region were exposed, Chen Ming and An Wuping’s relationship would be hard to explain and troublesome.

Of course, if necessary, it could be explained.

But it’s best to avoid unnecessary complications.

The mission of the Insect Race fleet was to fight till death under the Destruction’s attack, consuming its lifespan—no need for actions causing negative effects.

The Black Mist Insect Race fleet scattered, its overall combat power immediately weakened.

The Destruction didn’t even need to continue its onslaught.

Three carriers that engaged and resupplied with the Insect Race fleet appeared suddenly near a few groups of now largest Insect Race fleets, starting encirclement.

The Destruction Carrier continued its recent task, clearing the remnants of all Insect Race fleets.

Soon, the Black Mist Insect Race fleet was nearly annihilated, and this border area was again entirely under the Mechanical Race’s control.

However, both the Mechanical Race and the Empire’s scout fleet knew that even under the black mist, many seeds of the Insect Race fleet were left behind in nearby star systems.

The Empire’s scout fleet quietly disappeared after the war ended.

Yet the Mechanical Race’s Destruction Carrier didn’t stop; after replacing the radiant energy coil, it activated its teleportation engine again, returning to the star systems in the Nebula Region previously invaded by the Insect Race.

This time, the Destruction aimed its cannons at the planets themselves that were invaded by the Insect Race.

”This...”

Chen Ming immediately realized what that Destruction Carrier intended.

But before he could respond, the Destruction activated, and the destructive spiritual energy began acting from the precise point underground where it penetrated the Insect Nest.

The planet’s ground was dissolving, and the collapsing Insect Nest channels were revealing.

The Mechanical Race’s Destruction Carrier showed no mercy, expanding the destruction range relentlessly, driving the Destruction’s spiritual energy deeper.

The planet structures in this area were collapsing from the destructive force; the expanding cone-like gap on the surface visible even from space.
