Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

So, there’s not much left to do with the Forbidden Guard’s mission.

And the next project to tackle.

Is the transformation of the Black Mist Prosthetic.

The parasite had already been implanted into the body of the Black Mist Spirit Ability User, and the conversion of the human body to an insect body was almost complete.

However, Chen Ming had not yet operated on the Black Mist Spirit Ability User’s brain, as he had one last thing to do.

He claimed the Black Mist Spirit Ability User from the Extraordinary that had long been nurturing the Black Mist, and prepared a Black Mist Mechanical Enlightenment Nerve about the size of a human spine.

He got the Insect Queen to perform a spinal surgery on the Black Mist Spirit Ability User, implanting the Black Mist Mechanical Enlightenment Nerve.

Since Black Mist Spiritual Energy belonged to the Black Mist Spirit Ability User naturally, there was no need to learn how to use the Mechanical Enlightenment Nerve; the Black Mist Spirit Ability User’s body instinctively managed the Black Mist Spiritual Energy.

Soon after, his brain’s consciousness was stimulated, and with the support of the Mechanical Enlightenment Nerve in the body, it could sustain a much weakened Psychic consciousness.

The Black Mist Spirit Ability User awoke.

He could feel something writhing inside him, wanting to say something, but his mouth refused to obey.

He wanted to summon his spiritual power, but his spiritual power seemed to have abandoned him, ignoring his existence.

His consciousness struggled madly, but his body lay quietly on the operating table.

There was nothing he could do.

This sense of helplessness and the unfamiliar environment around him gradually birthed fear in the Black Mist Spirit Ability User’s heart.

And as the sound of footsteps slowly approached from a blind spot outside his vision, this fear continued to grow.

”Alright, see you in the next life.”

This familiar voice sounded in the Black Mist Spirit Ability User’s ear, his pupils instantly constricted to the extreme, as he was filled with profound fear.

But the next moment, his pupils slowly dilated open.

Chen Ming made him awaken merely to test how it would be to implant a Mechanical Enlightenment Nerve with its own spiritual energy effects into a Psychic.

The tests were complete, data recorded, and the Black Mist Spirit Ability User was allowed one last look at the world, so at least he wouldn’t die entirely clueless.

As a member of Zuo Jing, he should at least die in fear, right?

Otherwise, it would be too undeserving for someone of his identity.

The Black Mist Spirit Ability User’s brain was directly consumed by the Insect Queen, and the memories within were extracted and handed over to Chen Ming.

These memories had nothing valuable, and Chen Ming didn’t pay them much attention.

He still wanted to complete the conversion process of the Black Mist Spirit Ability User.

He intended to craft the Black Mist Spirit Ability User into a prosthetic fused with the capabilities of biology, mechanics, and spiritual energy.

He already had the backstory figured out.

It was an experimental subject of a fusion experiment between a human from Zuo Jing and the Insect Race, incorporating some of the spiritual energy effects of a Black Mist Spirit Ability User.

Its meaning was to become a Psychic inducing the Insect Race to attack the Mechanical Race.

A Psychic suspected to be a remnant of Zuo Jing, using Black Mist Spiritual Energy to guide the Insect Race’s actions.

Of course, that’s for later.

It had to appear after An Wuping’s script, as he envisaged, ran its course.

If Chen Ming guessed correctly, the Black Mist Prosthetic should soon find an appropriate opportunity to appear.

Having past experiences and the recent one, Chen Ming quickly concluded the transformation of the Black Mist Spirit Ability User.

And sent the Black Mist Prosthetic to an appropriate location.

After dispatching the Black Mist Prosthetic, Chen Ming’s tasks were almost done as well.

The next step involves action against the Mechanical Race.

But before proceeding to the next step.

He did another thing.

He took Yan Xiong back from the Extraordinary, extracted his Spirit Iron Enlightenment Nerve that could transform ordinary metal into Spiritual Metal, and through facilities, turned it into a Spirit Iron Core and Spirit Iron Mechanical Enlightenment Nerve.

He also implanted it into a Forbidden Guard level Insect Race individual, continuing to provide research samples for the Extraordinary and Spiritual Metal Material for Chen Ming.

Making him a total tool.

Think of it as liberating Yan Xiong from his torment, so he could move on early.

Of course, because Yan Xiong was a level 6 Psychic, Chen Ming had only defeated him using some clever tactics.

Chen Ming didn’t give him the chance to awaken for a final glimpse of the world or to understand how he died.

He straightforwardly extracted the Enlightenment Nerve and decisively ended his life.

The same went for another Psychic.

His Enlightenment Nerve was also extracted by Chen Ming, and he too was converted into a prosthetic by Chen Ming, but his Enlightenment Nerve wasn’t turned into a core, it was preserved.

This pure spiritual power condensed to the extreme was used to realize various effects, being pure spiritual energy.

Quite special.

Keeping it might have other values.

After extracting the Enlightenment Nerves of these two people and making the necessary arrangements,

Chen Ming could consider a task he had been thinking about for a long time completed.

Next, after a brief respite,

he planned to reach out his demonic claws again towards the Mechanical Race.
