Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

However, when this complete device was designed, it didn’t consider Chen Ming’s current need for only partial transformation.

It doesn’t have that function.

And attempting to extract the transforming Insect Race halfway or forcibly halt the process would definitely cause problems, rather than result in a truly effective half-mechanical half-biological entity.

As for that outdated damaged transformation facility, it cannot be directly used for Forbidden Guard transformation either.

It seems he has to personally make some adjustments.

Chen Ming has been holding back one Spiritual Energy for use on that damaged equipment.

It is the advanced Spiritual Energy effect for repair, deep repair, or also known as deep patching.

Its previous function allowed the target device to be optimized, making it nearly perfect under its current function.

And now, after another incident related to the Crimson Dimension, it has evolved further.

Deep repair optimizes the target in a comprehensive direction.

The original target’s functions would be optimized in that direction.

But now, as long as Chen Ming has a need or an idea, he can actively intervene in the optimization process using Spiritual Energy.

Making the optimization process not comprehensive, but skew towards a direction he envisaged.

For instance, for the one-third transformation facility in his hands, Chen Ming can optimize it to transform only half-mechanical half-biological entities.

Chen Ming didn’t use this Spiritual Energy before because he hadn’t experienced the recent Crimson Dimension incident, and he only had one copy in his hands.

If the repair had made a mistake before, such as completely repairing the facility, resulting in an inability to continue transforming half-mechanical half-biological beings, it would have been troublesome.

But now he has supplemented his knowledge through the Crimson Dimension, his mastery of Spiritual Energy has improved, and he has a second complete device.

And he has mastered much knowledge about half-mechanical half-biological entities through the zero-number sample.

It’s enough to proceed with this task.

With Chen Ming’s activation of Spiritual Energy, the targeted deep repair effect was applied to that one-third transformation facility of the Mechanical Race.

As he actively triggered Spiritual Energy for further influence, this facility gradually lost most of its functions, ultimately retaining only the ability to mechanize part of the biological tissues and organs.

Although this device lost much of its additional value, its optimized result perfectly met Chen Ming’s needs.

A Forbidden Guard Insect Race just bred by the Insect Queen, implanted with the Black Mist Mechanical Enlightenment Nerve, was also placed into this newly optimized facility.

Chen Ming set the transformation target to the flesh around the Mechanical Enlightenment Nerve implanted under the carapace of the Forbidden Guard Insect Race’s back.

The transformation began.

Nanorobots crept out from the facility, applying themselves to the back of this Forbidden Guard Insect Race.

The manner in which the nanorobots operated had slight differences compared to before.

It no longer completely transformed the flesh into machinery.

Instead, it reshaped some of the flesh into structures capable of linking with machinery.

And modified some of the machinery to maintain a tight connection with the flesh without mutual rejection.

Chen Ming desired integration, not transformation or replacement.

This was his intention.

He relied on his Spiritual Energy to exert this concept onto the facility without understanding its operational principles.

Moreover, he wanted to go a step further.

During the operation of the transformation facility, he continued to apply targeted deep-repair Spiritual Energy to the facility.

He wished to optimize the facility to the form he most wanted to see.

Though he didn’t fully grasp the operational principles of the transformation facility, his Spiritual Energy could comprehend it.

His hands could assist him in executing the things he could calculate or reason out.

And his Spiritual Energy could help him achieve what he wished to do.

Time passed rapidly.

The transformation process completed.

The Forbidden Guard Insect Race emerged from the facility.

Its appearance hadn’t changed much, except for a mechanical spine running through its entire body at the back.

Inside, invisible from the outside, lay countless nerves extending throughout the Forbidden Guard Insect Race’s body, originating from the mechanical spine.

These nerves were extensions of the mechanical spine, allowing the power of the Black Mist to permeate the entire body of the Insect Race.

A faint Black Mist was slowly emanating from the body of the Forbidden Guard Insect Race.

The Insect Race, being an exoskeletal creature, having an extra spine looked peculiar, but it didn’t affect the outcome.

Chen Ming directly used Spiritual Energy to bring this Forbidden Guard Insect Race to his side.

The massive body abruptly appeared before him.

Feeling the Spiritual Strength given by the Black Mist Mechanical Enlightenment Nerve, he released Spiritual Power to test this transformed Forbidden Guard Insect Race.

No need for actual combat, just stimulating with Spiritual Power and conducting simple simulations with Spiritual Power.

Chen Ming could confirm that about three Forbidden Guard Insect Races were enough to protect the invading Insect Race from the Purgatory Demon King and orbital defense facilities for a while.

Likely, it won’t be long before this Forbidden Guard Insect Race faces its first battle.

Then, the value of such a Forbidden Guard can be verified.

After meticulously recording the data of this Forbidden Guard, Chen Ming sent it back to the Insect Queen’s side, allowing her to continue manufacturing new Forbidden Guard entities. He would activate the equipment for transformation again later.
