Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

At least now, compared to when it just crawled out from the transformation facility, it can perform some simple activities, unlike before when it could only wriggle.

It can be said that the individual consciousness of the Insect Race controlling the Zero Sample is strong and possesses a strong will to survive.

Therefore, after being sent into the body of the Zero Sample, it undergoes changes that other individuals do not.

Hence, Chen Ming has been maintaining the Zero Sample all this time, without consuming much additional resources.

Perhaps it could bring him some unexpected surprises in the future.

After observing the Zero Sample.

Chen Ming focused his attention on the present, concentrating on the complete transformation facility in front of him.

Initiating the first complete use of the facility.

This time, Chen Ming plans to transform not the Insect Race, but one of his prosthetics.

After all, the previous process of transforming his prosthetic was far worse than transforming the Insect Race, with an average survival time shorter than that of transformed Insect Race individuals, without a single individual surviving more than an hour.

Thus, this time, he decided to start with a prosthetic, a ”person,” first.

After sending the prosthetic in, Chen Ming began to patiently wait.

The transformation process was identical to before, employing nanorobots to gradually convert biological tissues into mechanical ones.

Chen Ming could witness the entire process.

Still the same as before, starting from the internal organs.

All the organs used for survival were removed, leaving only basic organs that maintain human activities, which were preserved after being transformed into mechanical ones.

Additionally, some internal cavities were not retained during the transformation.

This made the prosthetic appear extremely fragile when halfway through the transformation, resembling more a mechanized skeleton rather than a mechanized human.

The human body was simply converted into a humanoid mechanical form, seemingly ready for various device modifications, without any special features.

However, it wasn’t over yet.

After the vast majority of organs and body were transformed, the facility finally moved to the final step, just as Chen Ming had previously guessed, addressing the brain area.

During the brain transformation process, unexpected situations arose.

Not truly unexpected, but the transformations exceeded Chen Ming’s predictions.

The mechanized head of the prosthetic was suddenly opened during the transformation, and the brain, still in a fresh biological state, was extracted separately by the nanorobots.

The nanorobots gathered on the brain, delved into it, gradually modifying it into something Chen Ming had seen before.

Something he had discovered on the Purgatory Demon King, known as a Personality Sub-Core.

The Personality Sub-Core differs from the Personality Core of the Mechanical Queen.

Its appearance does not resemble the spherical shape with several extended cylindrical structures of the Personality Core.

Instead, it roughly maintains the basic brain shape, with numerous densely arranged circuits.

Thus, it belongs mainly to a type under the Sub-Core, unrelated to the Personality Core.

Sub-Cores have different levels, installed in various levels of mechanoid units, with the highest being the Personality Sub-Core.

Chen Ming had previously found the shape peculiar, but he didn’t dwell on it at that time.

Not only because he hadn’t linked the Personality Sub-Core to the brain, but also because he was unable to manufacture a sub-personality core, either then or now.

The information he obtained from the Mechanical Race regarding sub-core manufacturing only included plans from basic sub-core to high-grade sub-core manufacturing.

A high-grade sub-core could be installed in centipede-like mechanoid mainstay units, but nothing more advanced.

Of course, the Mechanical Queen probably knows the manufacturing plan for a Personality Sub-Core, but Chen Ming didn’t ask.

Because the Purgatory Cores he had were limited, and for surface operations, the Insect Race was more suitable than the Mechanical Race, he had no intention of creating high-grade surface mechanoid units.

Even if he acquired more advanced sub-core, it would go unused.

Therefore, he didn’t research it or hurried to inquire from the Mechanical Queen.

After all, the Mechanical Queen was there when needed; there was no point in asking if not needed, which would only result in a pile of temporarily unusable but time-consuming information to sort.

Thus, Chen Ming never considered the manufacturing process of the Personality Sub-Core to be directly related to humans.

Even surprisingly direct, involving human brain conversion.

He had previously wondered why the highest level of Sub-Core would be the Personality Sub-Core, and now he had some explanation.

This also further indicated that the Shimmering Civilization, which had vanished, had an extremely close connection to humanity.

Moreover, another noteworthy point.

The Personality Sub-Core was damaged, a defective Personality Sub-Core.

It wasn’t operational.

Despite Chen Ming recently acquiring a new complete facility, even repaired, without signs of Destructive Spiritual Energy Fluctuation interference.

Logically, it shouldn’t result in a damaged device after conversion.

Yet, it created a damaged Personality Sub-Core.

Why was that?

As Chen Ming pondered, the Insect Queen suddenly conveyed a message that clarified the situation for him.
