Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Chapter 249: Chapter 106: The Plan and the Coincidence Within the Plan_4

Finding a demolition expert within Sinda Corporation is not a difficult task.

Though Chen Ming could only roughly bring the general environment of the mining site to the Space Station.

Moreover, the explosives Chen Ming currently has, after finalizing the mixture and actually testing them, were deemed extremely dangerous by the demolition expert brought in by the factory director.

So much so that he couldn’t give Chen Ming a 100% guarantee that the explosion wouldn’t have issues.

But under these conditions, Chen Ming can’t demand too much. If it fails, for him, it’s merely losing a robot.

At most, it might deepen Dusk’s suspicion towards him, and that’s all. Chen Ming has plenty of time to start over.

Following the demolition expert’s instructions, after all the bombs were placed in deep underground spots and blind monitoring angles within the tunnels.

Chen Ming feigned letting the mining robots collect tungsten ore underground for a while before bringing them back to the surface.

On the way up, Chen Ming made sure the mining robots walked through the routes leading to the stamping machine.

So Dusk would have to allocate some attention to this afterwards, delaying their potential discovery of buried explosives.

Then Chen Ming acted as if nothing had happened and went to rest.

The next day, twelve hours after Chen Ming had left, which is around Earth Time eleven o’clock.

The mining site warehouse where Chen Ming had fiddled.

The three Dusks responsible for the mining site work, after receiving notice to leave earlier yesterday, returned to the factory, and connected to the factory control terminal.

A task message displayed on the screen.

They were instructed to conduct a thorough search inside the mining site and check the condition of the stamping machine to ensure no damage.

And to report any abnormal situations immediately.

The three Dusks quickly divided their tasks and cooperated.

Two Dusks controlled several robots each, entering the mine shafts to inspect the internal conditions.

Since the task calls for thoroughness, they examined every corner of the complex mining tunnels.

Even with several robots working together, the efficiency was notably low.

Today, it would be difficult to begin formal mining operations in the tunnels.

As time passed and they went deeper into the mine layers.

The signal for the robots controlled by Dusk’s AI gradually became intermittent.

Signals were deteriorating underground due to a fault in the signal repeater.

Under such circumstances, the robots found it hard to conduct maintenance work.

The two Dusks in charge of this quickly reported the signal repeater fault to another Dusk overseeing the whole operation.

However, in such a harsh industrial environment, and without the need to ensure personnel safety, signal repeater faults are common occurrences.

Also, Chen Ming’s robots operated deeper within the tunnels than the current position of Dusk-controlled robots yesterday, indicating the signal repeater was not malfunctioning then, or at least not before Chen Ming left.

Though this matter didn’t directly lead to suspicion towards Chen Ming, Dusk AI nonetheless reported the usual signal repeater fault as required.

Simultaneously, the two other Dusk AIs each joined a robot to personally check the signal repeater.

The report of routine equipment failure did not directly reach Brilliant’s hands.

Instead, it first went through the Dusk AI in charge of this mining site.

Despite only a few minutes of transmission delay.

It was precisely this time gap that Chen Ming seized as an opportunity.

When the two Dusks controlled robots reached the signal repeater, ready to perform maintenance.

They suddenly received an emergency evacuation command.

The two Dusk AIs immediately abandoned the maintenance and started moving upwards.

But the mine is deep, and climbing up equally requires time.

More importantly, by this Earth Time, it was already past five o’clock in the afternoon.

Chen Ming’s Iron Ore No. had departed quite some time ago.

Before they reached the surface.

Iron Ore No. flew overhead, and at the precise moment it was above them, a large explosion occurred inside the mine.

Several giant rocks and countless metal fragments were blasted upwards, directly hitting the Iron Ore No. which was virtually flying at ground level.

The hull of Iron Ore No. experienced significant shaking; the engine flickered twice and then suddenly shut down, forcing a landing at the entrance of the tunnel which had just experienced an explosion in the mining site.
