Chapter 224: Chapter 100 Special Treatment, Smooth Reasons_3

Chen Ming, surprised by Lao Wu’s question, asked, ”You don’t understand?”

”I feel like I understand, yet I don’t. Can you explain it to me? I’m too lazy to think it over myself, especially since the person involved is talking to me. Why should I figure it out myself?”

”You really are...”

Chen Ming shook his head but didn’t refuse, explaining, ”Because I haven’t shown any resistance or threatened them in any way, they let me join.”

”?”

”Simply put, my ability has, to some extent, forced Dusk to come over.”

”If you were Dusk and I sought your help, would you at least come over to take a look if you had the ability?”

”Isn’t that obvious?”

”That’s the point. If Dusk comes, they have two choices: either eliminate me to prevent future problems, or take me in and have me work for them as someone who has already sought their assistance.”

”Is there a need for Dusk to interrogate me further if I’m actively cooperating?”

”I’m cooperating with them, and they’re cooperating with me. Isn’t it best to just cooperate like this? There’s no need for a complicated, troublesome interrogation where a real answer can’t be found.”

”Although it sounded simple earlier, many things are a mix of luck and coincidence coupled with the information I’ve gathered from other places.”

”You wouldn’t think Dusk is easy to deal with, right? If things really got ugly, Dusk would definitely be the first to kill me.”

”I am peaceful, and Dusk cooperates with me for peace. If I resist, then Dusk would definitely be aggressive.”

Chen Ming paused slightly and continued, ”The Dusk AI is actually easy to understand. Even if they have self-consciousness, they still act according to the logical optimal solution.”

”I might not judge the optimal solution, but I can figure out a relatively optimal one.”

”The best solution they can find concerning me is definitely not to kill me.”

”So, in that situation, I chose the optimal solution to cooperate with them.”

”This is how things work. As long as there is mutual understanding of each other’s ideas and shared interests, everything goes smoothly.”

Lao Wu, still somewhat puzzled, asked, ”What common interest do you have with Dusk? Aren’t they afraid of being controlled by you?”

”They need my ability; that’s their interest.”

”My ability is my interest.”

”Controlling them is a risk they have to bear, and they are aware of the risks surrounding me.”

”Plus, my own thoughts are also a risk. I might not be joining them just because of the military relations but possibly due to other ideas concerning Dusk.”

”Dusk knows I have ideas, and I know Dusk knows I know about their perception of me, but there’s no need to show it.”

”Showing it would be unseemly.”

”Threats like banning ideas about them, the risk of being threatened for having thoughts, it’s all nonsense.”

”If you’re Dusk telling me this, and I say I don’t dare to have ideas about you anymore and will work diligently for you, would you believe me?”

Lao Wu shook his head, saying, ”No.”

”Exactly. Even if they said it, it doesn’t mean I wouldn’t have ideas, it might even intensify my rebellious thoughts.”

”And if this matter is really laid bare, it would end up making my relationship with Dusk extremely rigid.”

”I’m already in Dusk’s territory. Does a rigid relationship benefit Dusk?”

Lao Wu suddenly said, ”Why do I feel like what you’ve said is reversed?”

”Not reversed. You could say Dusk and I are currently cooperating.”

”I’m offering my ability to Dusk, and Dusk provides me with a haven from military pursuit.”

”There are many forces besides Dusk that can shelter me from military pursuit, but Dusk also loses out without me since they don’t have a second Psychic with my ability.”

Chen Ming sighed suddenly and said, ”Actually, if the company had been half an hour faster earlier, I should now be in the Star Realm Capital.”

”And if I’m not mistaken, something should be happening with the military soon.”

”The military would find it tough to continue dedicating energy to pursue me.”

”It’s just slightly too slow.”

Lao Wu, seeming to resonate deeply, said, ”Indeed, but the company should figure out a way to bring you back, right?”

”They will definitely try to rescue me as long as they need Sky Steel and its subsequent benefits, until the loss surpasses the estimated value of the risks from losing Sky Steel.”

”Whatever happens during the rescue, that’s a matter for later.”

”Anyway, it’s quite difficult for the company to rescue me right now, so I’m not in a rush to go back.”

”Staying with Dusk, steadily gaining benefits from each other, isn’t bad.”

Lao Wu couldn’t help but ask, ”So confident? Dusk getting benefits from you is one thing, but you churning benefits out of them while already in their territory? Aren’t you afraid they’ll retaliate when irritated?”

”Hmm, it sounds confident, but I understand the thinking and logic of Dusk’s AI quite well.”

”Rather than using unnecessary threats and differential treatment against me, forcing me to work with very low efficiency through means like death threats, while also dealing with all other forces interested in me.”

”I should be enough to make other forces have ideas about me, right?”
