Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Chapter 221: Chapter 99: Factory, Contact_4

”Currently, as far as I know, it should be just you.”

”This is a rare opportunity, a chance to expand territory, and if you miss it, it might be gone.”

”As for the issues, what problems do you think there might be?”

Chen Ming immediately mentioned the two problems he had just thought of: ”Dusk, and people.”

”I’ve said, this is not my colony. It’s your colony, now that you’re working under Dusk. Meeting some of your minor demands shouldn’t be a problem for Dusk, right?”

Chen Ming couldn’t help but say, ”I don’t think these are minor demands.”

”I think so too, but it’s up to you to see if you can gain Dusk’s genuine attention.”

”As for the issue with people, I can solve it. I was just not prepared enough last time and got intercepted midway, but a prepared colony will definitely not face such issues.”

The boss’s tone sounded very serious.

”You must know, a well-developed, self-sufficient colony can provide everything that human society offers.”

”I only provide you with support, and once the colony becomes profitable, you’ll get dividends, but everything else in the colony belongs to you.”

”Everything you need can be obtained within the colony.”

Having seen Dusk’s Colony and the Star Realm Capital’s colony firsthand, Chen Ming knew the boss was right.

But he still had some questions: ”But establishing a colony isn’t that simple, right?”

”Of course not, so I’m just giving you a heads-up. You won’t find a suitable star system quickly now.”

”Regarding the work needed to build a colony, you can actually learn from Dusk, or when you’re free, you can come to me, and I can explain it to you gradually.”

Finished the communication with the boss.

Chen Ming somewhat defaulted to the idea of jointly establishing a colony with the boss.

After digesting the boss’s words, Chen Ming’s gaze returned to the Sentinel’s communication equipment.

He was considering whether to contact the company.

The company currently seems to have only sent a message to Chen Ming’s spacecraft, and hasn’t gone as far as installing surveillance equipment on the spacecraft.

After all, even if they did, they would have to wait for Chen Ming to initiate contact to communicate with him.

The initiative to contact is in Chen Ming’s hands, so installing listen-in equipment on the Sentinel might stir negative feelings from Chen Ming.

Thus, they probably don’t know Chen Ming’s detailed situation yet, nor are they aware Chen Ming contacted the boss.

This is a good thing for Chen Ming because he doesn’t feel the urgent need to contact the company now.

Chen Ming needs to stay on Dusk’s side for a while to gain benefits that are crucial for him, along with fulfilling the boss’s demands.

But the company clearly urgently needs Chen Ming to go over and help them acquire Sky Steel and confront the military.

Otherwise, the longer it drags on, the bigger the loss for the company concerning Sky Steel.

So if the company finds out about Chen Ming’s situation, they will definitely try to take him away.

Chen Ming didn’t want to leave just like that.

Leaving now means all his opportunities for gaining advantages from Dusk will evaporate, and he might even be hunted by two of Dusk’s Cruisers.

Moreover, after that, Dusk might directly place him on a blacklist.

This is definitely not a good thing for Chen Ming.

So Chen Ming plans to stall for a couple of days and not contact anyone else.

Anyway, the boss and Factory Director Old Wu both know each other well. Factory Director and the others should know Chen Ming is fine in a couple of days and will likely help Chen Ming keep it secret temporarily.

Unless the company is truly very urgent, they might try to contact Chen Ming through the boss and others then.

But they’ll have to pass the boss first.

Chen Ming picked up the terminal in front of him and opened the professional books Old Wu had given him before. There were many he hadn’t finished reading.

And later, Dusk is supposed to give him a pile of Dusk’s professional books, all of which have to be read slowly.

But for now, he has plenty of time.
