Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Chapter 222: Chapter 100: Special Treatment, Smooth Reasons

The second day.

Chen Ming received a message from Brilliant promptly at 8:00 a.m. Earth Standard Time.

A complete list of work tasks was sent to Iron Ore No.’s computer.

Although the list detailed a full page of work tasks, after a cursory glance, Chen Ming found them to be overall quite straightforward and simple.

On the first official working day, Chen Ming only needed to familiarize himself with the factory environment, equipment, and future work processes.

Although Chen Ming primarily relied on Spiritual Energy for work, the prerequisite for tasks such as transformation was for him to learn modification technology, which required the use of this equipment.

So what’s necessary to be familiar with should be familiarized, definitely useful in the future.

After today, Chen Ming’s real work would begin.

Basically work in the morning, and in the afternoon Chen Ming was given time to learn technology, which seemed quite relaxed.

Additionally, the list also mentioned that Chen Ming would receive some material subsidies for learning and practicing technology.

However, Dusk would regularly check the technology Chen Ming acquired, and if not up to standard, the supply of materials would correspondingly decrease.

This treatment was really like the way a company treats its employees, making it hard for Chen Ming not to feel a sense of déjà vu.

But Chen Ming didn’t pay much attention to it either,

Continuing to look at the work location on the list was inside the three outside factories.

He put on the protective suit, closed the spacecraft’s window shield, and prepared to depart.

But as the spacecraft’s protective shield fully lowered, Chen Ming suddenly discovered significant changes had occurred in the outside factory.

The modifications made to various robots and machinery throughout the factory yesterday had already been completed.

A factory that was somewhat semi-open was now fully enclosed, and what were previously three separate factories had now constructed rapid passages between different workshops.

Absolutely convenient for moving between them.

As for other modifications, Chen Ming couldn’t tell and would have to enter to understand them in detail.

Chen Ming tidied up his protective suit and took along Little Stone, who hadn’t appeared for a while, as he stepped off the spaceship.

He had already roughly understood the situation of the three factories yesterday.

They were factories for the production of weapons, ships, and fuel respectively.

This was originally a small supply point for Dusk.

After Chen Ming arrived, it was isolated from other places for him to use as a workplace.

While providing Chen Ming with a relatively good working environment, it also prevented him from stirring up trouble in nearby factories.

Chen Ming arrived in front of the center factory among the three, its doors closed at the moment,

Yet there was a small door beside it.

Approaching,

it was an individual compartment.

Upon entering the compartment, after the door behind Chen Ming closed,

he suddenly heard the sound of equipment operating inside the factory, which was originally silent except for some faint vibrations.

The compartment was replenishing air.

Chen Ming glanced at the gas quality monitor on his protective suit, showing three lines of content.

Habitable air environment.

No lethal gases.

No pathogenic microorganisms.

In an environment like this on a planet with no atmosphere, and belonging to Dusk who doesn’t need to breathe, this was really quite good for humans.

Could this be the purpose of yesterday’s factory modifications?

The other two factories were sealed as well, they should have undergone similar modifications.

Dusk truly is...

Chen Ming slightly marveled, recalling that he hadn’t received such treatment when he first joined the company.

Chen Ming shook his head and tried taking off his helmet to breathe the factory air.

Even though inside the factory, the air smelled without any peculiar odor, at most with a heavy metallic scent, which was unavoidable in a factory and couldn’t be nitpicked.

Holding his helmet by his side, Little Stone clung to the helmet’s edge, curiously observing the new environment outside, looking eager to explore.

Chen Ming picked up the terminal and looked at the factory map sent along with the work list.

The map showed the location of the main control room, shared by all three factories.

But Chen Ming didn’t head there immediately because he saw another item.

Refrigerated food storage.

This thing seemed quite out of place with Dusk.

Anyway, today’s task was to familiarize himself with the work environment and processes, the cold room in the factory should also be considered part of the work environment.

Chen Ming directly followed the obviously modified internal passage and smoothly reached the cold storage’s location, standing at its door.

Unlike the empty shelves he saw half a year ago when opening the Mining Space Station’s cold storage.

When Chen Ming opened the cold storage in the factory, he saw numerous shelves filled with food supplies.

If Chen Ming remembered correctly, there was no habitable planet in the star system he was currently in.

This meant that food had to be specially transported from elsewhere.

Dusk had truly provided Chen Ming with a very good working environment.

Chen Ming closed the cold storage door and continued looking at the map.

The structure of the other two factories was basically identical to the spaceship factory he was in, except missing the cold storage and main control room, plus some differences in internal equipment, the overall structure was similar.

Chen Ming wandered around each of the other two factories, confirmed the environment, and then returned to the spaceship factory.
