Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Chapter 219: Chapter 99 Factory, Contact_2

This explanation felt quite far-fetched even to Chen Ming himself, but for Dusk, it should be a relatively convincing argument.

Because although there’s always been a conflict between Dusk and humans, among those who have the capability to access the Dusk AI Core, a certain piece of news has been circulating continuously.

Dusk recruits humans, especially researchers in various mechanical, electronic, and spaceship technologies, with very high salaries.

One can only say that humans who capture the Dusk AI Core are made to work for humans, and captured Dusk AI also tries to poach talent from humans.

Though the efficiency is generally lower, since Dusk’s place, compared to the humans’ own territory, is still somewhat inferior for humans.

However, indeed, there have been some people who successfully joined Dusk’s side to work for Dusk, and among them, there were even high-level engineers and researchers.

The customized Speed Particle Spear modified by Dusk is, in a certain sense, their masterpiece.

Therefore, this is why during the Sinda Corporation’s board meeting, the board members weren’t too surprised by Chen Ming’s sudden rendezvous with Dusk for rescue and his venture to Dusk’s territory, and accepted it quickly.

Thus, eventually, the Dusk AI investigating Gamma B smoothly accepted Gamma B’s statement.

Then, at the cost of providing a portion of supplies, after reading the data of the spaceship modified by the Warrior, they let Gamma B go.

The cosmic environment is ever-changing; for Dusk individuals, loss of contact is a common occurrence.

Someday they might be captured; another day ship issues might leave them stranded in space.

Or perhaps one day they might be rescued, might return themselves, it’s all normal, all possible.

Once examined and found no issues, then there are no issues.

So, the situation with Gamma B piloting the modified Warrior was closed previously, and Dusk would basically not investigate further.

So, Chen Ming simply gave Gamma B time to be free, letting it do whatever it used to do, temporarily not concerning with his matters here.

After all, now he could say he was under Dusk’s protection, and there’s no need to contact Alpha AI, who was purchasing Spiritual Stone.

And since Gamma B hadn’t been exposed to other Dusks dealing with matters related to Chen Ming, Chen Ming simply decided to have it temporarily hide.

Hide as a Dusk in the shadows of Dusk itself and have near Beta Core-level capability just like Gamma A.

Perhaps it might come to use in the future.

Closed the panel where he could see the situation of the two Gamma AIs.

Chen Ming then opened the panel of his spaceship that was still docked at the Space Station.

Chen Ming previously owned ten spaceships.

Namely Iron Ore No., Refraction, Armor Piercing, two Mules, Lumin, Dawn, Warrior Modified, Centurion, and Sentinel.

Currently, Armor Piercing and Centurion have both been destroyed, and Refraction and Warrior Modified are now within Dusk’s domain.

Left at the Space Station, there were only two Mules and one Sentinel quietly parked within the Maintenance Facility.

Chen Ming inspected them, there were no signs of any external tampering on the three spaceships.

Additionally, Sentinel still had the equipment he installed for long-distance communication earlier, and upon activating the equipment, Chen found that there was a received message inside the communication device.

It was a message from the company.

Asking Chen Ming to contact them as soon as he sees the message, as they would figure out a way to bring Chen Ming back.

It seemed the company had already guessed that he was peacefully taken away by Dusk.

But Chen Ming wasn’t in a hurry to contact the company, instead, he reached out to the boss first.

Once the communication was connected, the boss didn’t say a word, but Chen Ming spoke the codeword he had previously exchanged with the boss.

Chen Ming had previously informed the boss of his ability and that he could conduct long-distance communication using the communication device.

However, to avoid someone using his spaceship to impersonate his identity, Chen Ming set up this codeword, which he had shared with a few familiar people.

Upon verifying his identity, the boss asked with considerable surprise, ”Little Ming, how did you survive? I knew the military sent a Ruler over and thought you were done for.”

”Luck.”

”It wasn’t just luck, I heard Dusk’s Cruiser appeared near you, it must have something to do with you.”

Chen Ming didn’t respond, which was an implicit acknowledgment.

The boss suddenly sighed lightly and said, ”Anyway, I apologize first. The rescue arrangement I had was stopped by others and didn’t work.”

”Fortunately, you’re fine now, and being in Dusk’s place should ensure your safety as well.”

Chen Ming didn’t pay much heed to the boss’s apology.

After all, initially, he voluntarily said he didn’t need the boss’s help.

With an unexpected turn, the boss prepared to rescue him regardless, there’s little to reprimand him for.

However, Chen Ming was quite curious now, as to who could have blocked the boss’s rescue arrangement for him, so he asked, ”Who stopped it?”

The boss didn’t conceal anything and said, ”Others from the organization I’m with.”

”Internal conflict?”

”Not quite, just that our organization is relatively loose. He’s a Psychic; he didn’t want me to rescue you, so he intercepted my rescue arrangement.”

Chen Ming asked puzzledly, ”Why? I don’t think I have offended any Psychic?”

”In reality, you have because he’s a beneficiary of the military’s extraction of Sky Steel, and a portion of the extracted Sky Steel would be allocated to him.”

”Unfortunately, I wasn’t aware of this before. Otherwise, I would have avoided him interfering with your rescue.”

Chen Ming suddenly fell silent for a moment, then asked, ”What’s his name? Where is he?”
