Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Chapter 228: Chapter 101: The Attitude of All Parties_3

”They didn’t explain what the bounty was about; their answers were ambiguous. They just said they were busy and this matter wasn’t urgent, so we should wait.”

”I really can’t understand what they mean.”

The director beside him speculated, ”Could it be that Chen Ming’s psychic abilities have already been discovered by the military? So decisive? Not leaving any room for others.”

”It should be that someone from the military who was still alive saw Dusk’s ship taking Chen Ming away.”

”And there are residual energy fluctuations from Dusk’s Speed Particle Spear at the scene, which makes it clear that Dusk eliminated the Ruler; this can’t be hidden.”

”Moreover, the fact that Chen Ming is a Psychic likely has been leaked as well. He was pursued by the military fleet and the abilities he displayed can’t be kept secret.”

”Then it’s very normal to associate Chen Ming with being able to control Dusk.”

”The key isn’t whether we can make the association but rather other matters.”

The director responsible for military matters suddenly made a stop gesture and said, ”Wait, there’s another thing.”

”The bounty they issued is Star Zone Level, not Star Realm Level, effective only within the Star Zone.”

Suddenly, the conference room fell silent for a moment until a director asked, ”Why is that? Bounty issued but not fully, what’s the Fourteenth Legion’s deal?”

”No matter what it means, the situation is still fine; a Star Zone Level bounty is completely irrelevant as a Star Zone is always just a Star Zone. Without a Star Realm Level bounty, it’s not a problem.”

”It can’t be said to be irrelevant; with a Star Zone bounty hanging on Chen Ming, the government will surely want to clarify that.”

”And Chen Ming has indeed been taken away by Dusk. How will the government account for that? Private dealings with Dusk? Or will it be considered capture by Dusk?”

”If there are problems, just find a way to solve them. Our relations with Chen Ming’s Star Realm Government aren’t too bad right now; mentioning these things should suffice.”

The directors quickly discussed the potential developments of this issue and then brought up the next topic.

”In that case, the Sky Steel matter should be addressable too; what’s the situation with communication with the government?”

”Yes, we at least have the mining rights certificate and evidence of Chen Ming leaving the Star System in hand. What does the government say?”

The director who had proactively contacted the government previously said expressionlessly, ”When I asked, the government discussed all the prior matters regarding Chen Ming and Sky Steel.”

”Which should we listen to first? Chen Ming or Sky Steel?”

”Chen Ming, I suppose.”

Seeing no objections from other directors, the director in charge of government contact said, ”The government has combined the information we provided and confirmed Chen Ming’s situation; they are very interested in Chen Ming.”

”As long as we provide accurate information about Chen Ming, the government said they can overlook the Armor-Piercing Level issue, then cover the wasted Armor Piercing afterward, and even give us priority bidding rights and more ship order forms in the future.”

”I recall that we recovered that Armor Piercing, right? How should we handle it?”

”Chen Ming’s capabilities are not thoroughly understood yet. Even if the Armor Piercing is destroyed, he might still have control over it.”

The chairman, who had been silent and listening, suddenly said, ”The Armor Piercing started production when it passed the mark, right?”

A director sitting in the corner nodded, ”Yes, but apart from that sample, there is no new output.”

”Then concentrate production capacity on one line; find an Armor Piercing to deal with this first.”

”As for this Armor Piercing, repair it first. If Chen Ming can come back, we can give the ship directly to him. This Armor Piercing can serve as proof of our friendly intentions and reduce conflicts in our future dealings with him.”

”A ship that’s been touched by him is untouchable by anyone else.”

”If he can’t come back, there are two scenarios.”

”If he dies, there’s no need to worry about this Armor Piercing causing problems.”

”If he’s alive, we can only hold onto it for now and see Chen Ming’s situation in the future.”

”We’ve already confirmed that both the military and government are aware of Chen Ming’s capabilities; they have more considerations than we do and certainly won’t let Chen Ming continue to stay with Dusk.”

”It’s unnecessary for them to spend effort retrieving ordinary technical personnel who went to Dusk, but Chen Ming, as a Psychic, is different.”

”The military will certainly take action later, so we don’t need to keep this Armor Piercing for long.”

”However.”

The chairman suddenly spoke with extreme seriousness, ”Have you thought of the issues within this?”

”Things have reached this stage, meaning no matter what, the military and government will definitely clean up for us to prevent Dusk from becoming stronger.”

”But if we don’t take initiative to clean up, our own position is at risk, not to mention anything else.”

”If Chen Ming ends up in the hands of the military or government, whether he’s a company member or ran away from the Mining Space Station, it won’t be up to us.”

After glancing around the conference table, confirming everyone understood his words.

The chairman shifted topics to give everyone time to think, ”What about Sky Steel? What does the government say?”

The director responsible for government affairs stated, ”The government said this matter and Chen Ming’s need to be handled separately, and they can at most bridge communication between us and the military to lift the blockade on the Star System.”

”But isn’t the military being interrogated by the Fourteenth Legion now?”
