Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Chapter 248: Chapter 106: Plans and Coincidences Within Plans_3

However, during this repair session, Chen Ming’s repair skills uncharacteristically encountered some issues.

Chen Ming did manage to refill all the bullets, which was not a problem.

But all the repaired batteries, or rather all the bullets, were not fully charged and needed subsequent charging.

Brilliant promptly transported a batch of pre-charged materials over.

Chen Ming glanced at them for a moment; they were some fully charged batteries that could be inserted into the bullets.

Chen Ming, like Dusk, chose to repair them out of curiosity.

However, after modification, these fully charged batteries still lost their stored energy.

During the liquefaction process of the materials during repair, the internal energy was completely released.

It seems that the bullets must use materials that inherently possess energy properties to effectively provide power.

Just like the plasma-charged warheads of the Purgatory Cannon before, they used materials that naturally contained energy, not requiring subsequent charging, enabling Chen Ming to repair them completely in one go.

This was the first time Chen Ming felt the limits of his abilities.

But this limitation was hardly significant.

Chen Ming even hoped that Dusk could help him find more limits to his abilities, so that in the future, when he encounters problems, he wouldn’t misjudge his capacity.

Today’s work was done.

However, just when Chen Ming planned to use the remaining daytime to continue reading,

Brilliant suddenly asked him a strange question: ”Do you have any other requirements for your living environment?”

Chen Ming couldn’t understand why Brilliant would suddenly ask this, perhaps it was preemptively preventing him from using excuses to gain benefits next time?

He wasn’t sure, so he expressed that he didn’t have any needs at the moment.

Brilliant didn’t ask further and soon left, leaving the rest of the time to Chen Ming himself.

Then Chen Ming continued with his plan to read.

From the second batch of books Dusk gave him, Chen Ming spent less than half his time each day reading, focusing more on studying those Speed Particle Technology books given by Old Wu.

However, even so, by today, his learning of Dusk’s technology has reached its final stage.

After today, looking back, he can find some time to conduct a review again.

By five in the evening, Chen Ming clocked off work on time.

He then activated the mining robot-equipped Iron Ore No., flying out of the factory.

It was just dawn in the colonized area of this planet.

Chen Ming soon saw his destination through the camera of Iron Ore No. from quite a distance away.

The mining site situated atop the tungsten ore vein.

He could also see the core ore stamper of the mining site still operating, continuously pounding the underground ore to the surface for easier extraction and subsequent processing.

However, at this time, there were no robots or spacecraft from Dusk performing any operations on these ores.

Obviously, Brilliant had preemptively withdrawn Dusk’s presence here, allowing Chen Ming to be isolated here alone.

Chen Ming didn’t mind this, otherwise, he wouldn’t have informed Brilliant beforehand of his intention to come here.

He quickly controlled Iron Ore No. to land near the mining site.

The side of the spaceship was aimed at the path leading to the underground, located near the stamper.

Chen Ming happened to see some robots entering and exiting the mine entrance on a previous occasion.

That’s why he chose here.

The hatch of Iron Ore No. opened, and the mining robots leaped out, entering the passage directly.

In the depths of this tunnel lies a series of mine pathways surrounding the range of the stamper, clearly excavated by some mechanical equipment.

In the wider upper levels of the mines, Chen Ming didn’t find anything of value.

But as he continued to control the robots deeper, he saw scattered tungsten ores around the mine paths.

Due to the effective range of the stamper, these surrounding ores couldn’t be reached, and their value did not warrant relocating the stamper.

However, abandoning them would result in losses.

Ultimately, Dusk chose to assign some scattered robots to mine, which was the easiest and most economical approach.

Meanwhile, they could also dig a path from here to the nearby stamper, facilitating external maintenance of the stamper.

The mining robot controlled by Chen Ming now stood on a mine path leading to the nearby stamper.

But Chen Ming didn’t go there; instead, he continued deeper underground.

He intended to plant explosives he carried at various spots in the mine to collapse the mine.

Although Chen Ming initially planned to create trouble in other mines with more Dusk presence, right now, he saw an opportunity.

Moreover, he didn’t need to consider how to dig out what was buried afterward; this was Dusk’s concern.

What he needed to consider was the magnitude of the explosive that, when detonated underground, wouldn’t cause the mine to completely collapse in the first wave but remain internally supported, so his plan wouldn’t fail.

This matter was certainly beyond Chen Ming’s sole capability.

So, he sought external assistance.

A few days ago, he asked the factory director to find some professional mining personnel, a blasting expert, to determine the arrangements for this aspect.

During his time working at the Mining Space Station, Chen Ming was nominally part of Sinda Corporation’s mining subsidiary.
