Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Chapter 223: Chapter 100: Special Treatment, Smooth Reason_2

Came to the control room of the factory.

This is a room with complex control panels on one side and various work equipment set up on the other, with even some items for Chen Ming’s rest placed in the corner.

Chen Ming didn’t pay attention to the side but went straight to the control panel.

Then he found that although the panel looked complex and headache-inducing, in reality, the panels and their functions were very familiar to him.

It’s basically the same as the equipment in the maintenance factory, and although it’s Dusk’s transformed equipment, most of the operational habits are also human-based.

Chen Ming tried to operate it a bit.

Through the control panel, he could observe everything, including the other two factories.

All control permissions for the three factories were integrated here, and all equipment could be controlled by Chen Ming.

Additionally, in the database linked to the control panel, Chen Ming also found a specially marked, more detailed mission assignment for Chen Ming, which is a more detailed mission requirement.

And tomorrow morning’s work is to carry out maintenance on a batch of weapons already stored in the warehouse.

Although Chen Ming controlled the factory and could use the factory’s equipment to complete it, Dusk clearly didn’t want to see Chen Ming using equipment for repairs but wanted to see how Chen Ming’s Spiritual Energy would achieve the effects of control, maintenance, and transformation.

The equipment in the factory was more like Chen Ming previously imagined, used for learning.

Dusk specifically gave Chen Ming some afternoon learning time, and even recorded some professional books on Dusk’s technology in the database linked to the control panel, not just to be placed there unread.

Chen Ming skimmed through the books recorded by Dusk here.

It’s only conceivable that although Dusk’s spaceship and weapon designs are the same at the foundational level as humans’, after all, Dusk is of human origin.

But when extended further, it differs. Dusk’s spaceship design ideas and weapon design ideas are designed for AI usability.

What Chen Ming needs to learn is this kind of technology.

In fact, humans should already have this knowledge; after so many years of conflict, they must have already obtained a lot of Dusk’s spaceship.

Reverse analyzing it, fundamental knowledge at a base level should all be grasped.

Dusk must know this and wouldn’t feel any regret giving it out directly.

So this relatively basic knowledge shouldn’t be too difficult for Chen Ming to learn.

After becoming familiar with all the functions of the control panel.

Chen Ming chose to visit the materials warehouse next to the work area of the factory.

The first batch of weapons scheduled for maintenance tomorrow was here.

These weapons are mostly energy weapons, along with a small portion of solid bullet weapons.

Many were models Chen Ming had never seen before, only regrettably they weren’t on the spaceship now, so their names couldn’t be known.

But since they’re stored in the warehouse, there will always be a chance to figure out their value later.

Besides the weapons, there were other items, like drone components or some damaged equipment.

It seems that as long as it’s not something directly accessible to Dusk’s AI, they randomly brought some over for Chen Ming.

Aside from these already product-formed items, there are many other materials in the warehouse.

These should be the resource subsidies Dusk mentioned, all available for him to use.

Chen Ming looked around casually and confirmed there were thirteen kinds of advanced materials and two kinds of special materials in the warehouse.

Although not in large quantities, if not used carelessly, they should last Chen Ming for a while.

In addition, there were those escape pods Chen Ming specifically instructed Refraction to collect before leaving the battlefield.

As Chen Ming was considering how to handle these escape pods.

He suddenly felt that his ship, stationed at the Space Station, had been tampered with.

Chen Ming quickly directed his attention there and found Old Wu scratching on the ship’s engine with a screwdriver.

”Tsk.”

Chen Ming clicked his tongue in mild displeasure.

It seems Old Wu already knew he wasn’t dead.

Using the contact method Chen Ming previously left for the boss, which was simply to scratch with something hard inside the ship’s engine nozzle, he contacted Chen Ming.

Since Chen Ming was with Dusk, there’s no need to control the ship for protection, so he could always control the Sentinel and receive information from it at any time.

After Old Wu finished scratching, he turned and ran to an empty corner of the maintenance factory, lit a cigarette, and waited.

Chen Ming didn’t waste any words and immediately contacted him through the Sentinel.

”Bored enough to scratch my ship? Pay up.”

Old Wu smiled and said, ”Hey, Little Ming, you’re really alive! What’s going on, what happened afterward? Tell me quickly.”

”Fix my ship.”

”Heh, will do, will do.”

Chen Ming leaned against the factory wall and recounted the events after joining the company’s fleet into superspace to Old Wu, naturally omitting a lot of details.

After listening, Old Wu looked puzzled and said, ”The front part sounds fine, but the latter part feels strange.”

”How could Dusk so casually agree to let you join? And even give you such good treatment? Didn’t they interrogate you to find out what you planned to do?”
