Chapter 217: Chapter 98 Legion 14_4

”Add a charge of treasonous collusion with Dusk, make it as severe as possible.”

”And you.”

The Major General looked at the Colonel and said, ”Continue to appease those urging us to resolve the issue due to Chen Ming. Give them more confidence.”

The Lieutenant Colonel and the Colonel acknowledged and immediately left the office.

The Major General then headed to the main command room of the command building with his adjutant.

At this moment, a communication was shown ongoing on the main screen of the command room.

On the screen, a soldier in the special uniform of the Fourteenth Legion, wearing glasses and holding the rank of Major General, could be seen.

However, it was obvious the Major General from the Fourteenth Legion didn’t wish to converse with others.

Only when the Major General arrived at the command room did the Major General from the Fourteenth Legion, as if notifying, say, ”The jurisdiction over the Galor-2 Star Zone’s military district will subsequently be under our Fourteenth Legion. The formal jurisdictional transition document has already been submitted.”

”Major General Guo Hongzhuo, please return to the Star Realm Military headquarters for a briefing.”

Guo Hongzhuo didn’t show any particular emotion in response to the words of the Fourteenth Legion, instead asking, ”Why? I’ve served here for thirty-five years and am two years from retirement. What’s the reason for the sudden order to return?”

”Isn’t it here where a traitor caused the loss of a cruiser? That alone is enough to bring you back.”

Guo Hongzhuo’s expression suddenly turned stern.

He had clearly used connections even higher than those of the Star Realm Military within the United Battle Zone to shift the blame to others who could take the fall.

Thus, although he bore some responsibility, he shouldn’t have been directly ordered back.

Moreover, the person helping him was someone absolutely trustworthy, ensuring there shouldn’t be any questioning.

Guo Hongzhuo said incredulously, ”While I am partly responsible for the traitor incident, it shouldn’t be to this extent.”

The Major General from the Fourteenth Legion adjusted his glasses, the lens reflecting light so much that no one in the Star Zone military command room could see his eyes clearly.

”Indeed, it’s not that severe, but within the military district, have you ever been aware of internal smuggling activities?”

”Someone has delivered the report to the Inspectorate, and their investigation uncovered numerous issues.”

The Major General from the Fourteenth Legion succinctly listed several controlled items, providing dates, times, and locations.

As Guo Hongzhuo listened, beads of cold sweat appeared on his forehead.

This was because the few items the Major General mentioned happened to be the times he profited the most from smuggling.

Still, he stubbornly said, ”Even if we erred, it should be up to the Inspectors to examine us; you army personnel have no right to interfere with local military matters. Where’s the Inspectorate’s document?”

”First of all, you call this an error? You somewhat misunderstand the concept of an error. What you’re involved in could lead to a military court.”

”Secondly, what was just sent to you is the Inspectorate’s document.”

”Lastly, we’ve sent the Inspectorate back.”

”Here’s a temporary duty substitution agreement bearing the seals of both the Inspectorate and the Imperial Military Affairs Bureau; please accept it.”

With four simple sentences, the Major General wiped even more sweat from his forehead. He had never heard that the formerly feeble Fourteenth Legion was capable of something like this.

Or rather, in his thirty-plus years here, he had only once heard about the Fourteenth Legion’s reorganization.

Could the significant changes have occurred after that reorganization?

The Major General from the Fourteenth Legion was clearly not going to provide any explanations, as the contents of the documents were entirely authentic.

He adjusted his glasses once more, revealing his intimidating gaze to everyone present.

”The reason we sent the Inspectorate back and came personally is that one of our people was lost here.”

”It seems they were just killed by your traitor.”

The threat was almost overflowing in the eyes of the Major General from the Fourteenth Legion.

”For military personnel violating laws and regulations, the Independent Fourteenth Legion of the Empire now has the authority to conduct an investigation.”

The communication was cut off.

The fleet, led by the special Ruler of the Fourteenth Legion and consisting entirely of ships transformed by the Legion itself, had already appeared in the planet’s orbit.
