After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 2186: Chapter 2190: Interested in Your Girl

”For now... we haven’t found anything yet.” The subordinate hung his head, speaking cautiously.

”Then what are you back here for?” Leng Zirui raised an eyebrow, ”Go look again!”

The two subordinates nodded submissively and left, Ah Ke poured him a drink and handed it over, then sat on the sofa beside him.

”Rome City is so vast, the opposition seems quite skilled too. It’s impossible to find them so quickly. How about... we ask Lei Qingqing for help? She’s got a wide network.”

Leng Zirui scoffed, ”If I can’t even find one person, how can I call myself the boss in the future?!”

”ROY, don’t be angry, okay?” Ah Ke saw his foul mood and quickly tried to console him, ”After all, this isn’t our territory. If we were in the United States, in America, this kind of small issue would be a piece of cake. Once we get hold of Luo Ke’s connections, then this will be our home turf.”

Leng Zirui put away the cold expression on his face, ”How are the funeral arrangements going?”

Ah Ke took a sip of his drink, ”I’ve been mobilizing manpower recently, trying to bring all the elite forces over from the United States within the next two days. Then, it will be a ’one stone...’”

He originally wanted to mimic Leng Zirui by using a Chinese idiom, but halfway through, he couldn’t remember the rest and got stuck.

”’Killing two birds with one stone’!” Leng Zirui reminded him.

”Yes, ’killing two birds with one stone’!” Ah Ke clumsily repeated the Chinese idiom.

Leng Zirui lightly swirled the drink in his hand, ”Have you checked on that Shangguan Feng?”

During the previous hotel’s inauguration ceremony, it was evident that the Lei Family Father and Daughter were quite friendly with Shangguan Feng, which led Leng Zirui to have some suspicions about him.

”His father is a senior official in the city council, supposedly in a cooperative relationship with Lei’s. However, whether he is one of Lei’s people, I’m not certain yet.” Ah Ke smirked crookedly, ”But, his hands definitely won’t be clean.”

”And what about Shangguan Feng?” Leng Zirui asked again.

”He... a top student from the Cambridge School of Architecture, won a design award during his freshman year. He’s also designed quite a few acclaimed architectural works lately, including that hotel from Lei’s, all designed by him.” Ah Ke sneered, ”The public regard him highly, but you know, playboys like him are probably no good either.”

Saying this, he cast an ambiguous glance at Leng Zirui, ”Rumor has it, that kid has a thing for your girl, is it true?”

”Does he think he can compete with me?!” Leng Zirui scoffed, ”I’ve had my fun, he won’t even get close!”

Ah Ke chuckled, looking over at his body wrapped only in a towel, then glanced towards the closed bedroom door, ”ROY, are you really smitten this time? Seems like you’re going a bit easy on her.”

Previously, whenever ROY got a woman, he’d make sure to exhaust her to the last moment in bed. This time, ROY’s demeanor was unusually gentle, hence Ah Ke’s question.

Leng Zirui shrugged, ”The girl hasn’t been well these past few days, fainted before we even started playing. We’ll see when she wakes up. You know, I enjoy interaction.”

”Then I won’t disturb you.” Ah Ke grinned mischievously and stood up, ”Have fun.”

Leng Zirui raised his glass towards him, drank all the liquor in it in one gulp.

Ah Ke finished his drink and turned to leave the room.
