After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 2182: Chapter 2186: Not Even a Single Woman

A small island in the sea.

Since Luo Xiaoqian is not on the island, Leng Zimo finds himself exceptionally free. While the maids prepare dinner for the bodyguards and others, he steps out of the villa, seemingly wandering aimlessly towards the two-story building.

As dusk approaches, the bodyguards, aware that dinner is imminent, appear somewhat relaxed.

After all, the island’s radar and security equipment are quite sophisticated. If anyone enters the sea area, the radar will automatically alert them. Unless there’s a power outage or an unusual situation, the bodyguards don’t need to constantly watch the sea surface.

Leng Zimo has been on the island for several days, and everyone is quite familiar with him and doesn’t pay much attention to the chef. Some even greet him friendly.

Approaching the small building, Leng Zimo notices a bodyguard leaning against the wall smoking. He walks over voluntarily and tosses the small iron flask he was carrying to the man.

”Can I get a cigarette?”

The man takes a sip from the flask, then grabs a cigarette pack and hands it over.

”Thanks.” Leng Zimo draws out a cigarette, places it between his lips, lights it, and exhales a light puff of smoke. ”You guys are here all day; it’s tough work. This island... not even a woman around.”

For young men, women are always a topic worth discussing. Leng Zimo’s comment easily gets agreement from the other party.

”Who says otherwise.” The bodyguard sneers, ”Even those two cook ladies, I can’t be bothered to even look.”

”Are you married?” Leng Zimo asks casually.

”I did a few years ago, but the bitch is dead now. While I was away, she cheated with another man, and I killed her myself,” the man spits, ”How about you?”

”Married, but... my wife isn’t with me.”

”Ran off with another man?” The bodyguard drinks and asks with a laugh.

Leng Zimo doesn’t answer, implicitly confirming.

”These women, all damn bitch|es!” the man curses.

Leng Zimo shows no expression, but inwardly he thinks that his Xiao Qian is not included in that category.

”They’ve all gone to eat, why don’t you go?”

”I’ve got to keep watch here.” The man sits down on the steps, ”It’s my shift today.”

”What’s there to watch here?” Leng Zimo deliberately asks, pretending to be puzzled.

The man casts him a sidelong glance and smiles mysteriously, ”That’s something better left unasked.”

Leng Zimo sighs, ”I’m not really interested in that; I’m just worried I might not leave this island alive.”

”Stay close to the boss, follow orders, and he won’t kill you,” the man says.

The two chat casually, and soon another bodyguard comes over with a dinner. They exchange greetings, and the bodyguard previously talking to Leng Zimo takes out a set of keys from his pocket and throws them to the newcomer. He stands up and says to Leng Zimo, ”Come on, let’s go eat.”

”I’ve already eaten, just taking a walk.”

Leng Zimo waves goodbye. As the man leaves, Leng Zimo heads towards the coast, quietly observing. Through the open hall door, he clearly sees the bodyguard with the dinner enter the building and disappear down the stairs leading to the basement.

It seems, that person is locked in the basement.

Taking a turn, Leng Zimo loops widely around the two-story building, carefully observing and analyzing various infiltration possibilities.

Noticing the dense bushes behind the building, he checks that nobody is paying attention, swiftly jogs over, and, bending down, uses the bushes as cover to approach the building stealthily.
