After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 2154: Chapter 2158: Dr. Yin Yi?

”Of course not, it’s after arriving here...” The maid stopped midway, suddenly realizing she had let something slip, ”How did you know about the madam’s amnesia?”

”Didn’t you tell me?” Leng Zimo replied with a calm expression.

The two maids’ faces turned pale upon hearing this.

They had really... let slip such a thing?

After thinking for a moment, they couldn’t recall when they might have said it. Naturally, they didn’t have Leng Zimo’s mindset; they merely thought of themselves as having unknowingly blurted out the secret, feeling somewhat uneasy.

”This matter must never reach the gentleman’s ears, or else we’re doomed.”

”Yes, please, never mention this in front of the gentleman!”

The two maids put down their work and pleaded with Leng Zimo.

If Luo Ke knew they dared to speak of such a matter, he would surely kill them.

”Why?”

Seeing the two maids caught in his trap, Leng Zimo purposely asked.

”Because the gentleman is not an ordinary person; he doesn’t like us discussing these things, especially the madam’s matters.”

”Then the madam’s amnesia seems to be unusual?” Leng Zimo probed, observing their hesitation and unwillingness to speak further, he added, ”Rest assured, I won’t tell the gentleman. I’m just a bit curious.”

”You better not ask. Knowing too much won’t do you any good.” Another maid wiped cold sweat from her forehead, ”Get back to work.”

The two maids did not speak again, only working in silence, seemingly afraid of inadvertently letting slip anything else.

Although Leng Zimo didn’t get answers, from their attitudes, he knew that his conjecture was likely correct—that was, Luo Xiaoqian was hypnotized after arriving on the island.

In this light, Dr. Yin Yi once also visited the island.

Is he dead or alive?!

The bodyguards walked in for breakfast one after another. After eating, one bodyguard still took away the extra portion, as Leng Zimo stood on the beach watching him enter the two-story building, he suddenly entertained a daring speculation.

Could it be, the person locked inside is Dr. Yin Yi?

...

...

Rome.

In the villa’s dining room, Xu Xia sat at the table, using her uninjured left hand to scoop and eat breakfast, appearing as if she had a great appetite.

After a day without eating much, she truly felt like her front and back were sticking together.

Ah Jiu and Ah Sang sat across from her, watching her, they merely exchanged a subtle glance.

They had no idea that her current demeanor was entirely a reflection of her good mood; they merely thought it was her way of relieving stress.

Recalling Leng Zirui’s trust in him, Ah Jiu cleared his throat.

”Miss Xu, once you finish breakfast, shall we head to the hospital?”

Xu Xia swallowed the porridge in her mouth and raised her head to look at them, ”Why go to the hospital, what for?”

”Well, I’d like to do a thorough check-up for you,” Ah Jiu replied.

Of course, firstly to check her physical condition, and secondly, he wanted to find a psychologist to counsel her.

After all, Xu Xia is a girl, and such an incident is quite difficult for any girl to accept. Ah Jiu also worried that Xu Xia might harbor mental scars, and if something truly happened because of this, how would he explain to Leng Zirui?

”No need, I feel fine.” Xu Xia lowered her head and continued eating, ”I don’t want to go anywhere, I just want to stay in the villa, don’t want to see anyone.”

The world is vast, yet so small.

She didn’t want her presence to cause any trouble for Leng Zirui.
