After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 2173: Chapter 2177: Surprised to See Me

Leng Zirui slanted a glance at Xu Xia’s side neck, and sure enough saw a conspicuous bruise there.

His heart burned with pain, yet his face was still wearing a smile.

Bracing one arm against the wall, he pulled Xu Xia into his arms, his fingers playing with her hair, while his gaze, already tinged with wickedness, fell on Lei Qingqing. ”Hitting her this hard—are you jealous of her?”

This bastard, absolutely shameless and narcissistic to the extreme, does he really think he’s some big Casanova?

Lei Qingqing secretly curled her lip in her heart, but forced down the disgust on her face. ”You should know, the only reason I’m this tolerant of her is entirely for your sake. Otherwise, just that slap alone would’ve given me more than enough reason to flay her alive!”

”Ha...” Leng Zirui chuckled softly. His fingers reached over and gently caressed Xu Xia’s face. ”Such beautiful skin—wouldn’t it be a pity to peel it off?”

Lei Qingqing only forced out a cold snort through her nose.

At this moment, Xu Xia’s body moved slightly, and her closed eyes slowly opened.

The hazy light in front of her was still a blur, and feeling her faint movement, Leng Zirui lowered his face to look at her.

After a short adjustment to the light, Xu Xia’s vision finally focused.

Because Leng Zirui was holding her in his arms, her line of sight happened to be pointed right at Lei Qingqing.

Seeing Lei Qingqing clearly, Xu Xia instinctively wanted to get up and run.

Her body had just pushed upright when a tightness at her waist pulled her back into someone’s embrace.

”My sleeping beauty, you woke up without even waiting for my kiss?!” Leng Zirui looked down, smiling, at Xu Xia who had fallen back into his arms, secretly delighted.

Xu Xia stared at that handsome, larger-than-life face, first stunned, then a surge of wild joy rose in her heart.

Leng Zirui?!

She instinctively reached her hand out toward him.

”What’s wrong, honey, surprised to see me?” Leng Zirui asked with a grin.

Hearing that ”honey” from him snapped Xu Xia back to herself in an instant.

Something’s off!

What if he’s not Leng Zirui?!

”Let go of me!”

Xu Xia struggled hard, trying to break free from his arms.

Leng Zirui wrapped one arm around her waist and caught her hand with the other.

This was Lei Qingqing’s turf—how could she possibly get away? If he didn’t hold on to her, odds were she’d be the one to suffer.

”How about we try this?” Lei Qingqing lifted her chin slightly. One of her men immediately produced a small syringe. Taking it, Lei Qingqing looked over at Xu Xia, pinned in Leng Zirui’s arms, with a sinister smile. ”Just two shots, and she’ll be your pet forever.”

Though Xu Xia didn’t know what was in the syringe, she knew for sure it wasn’t anything good. Now that Leng Zirui had her immobilized, she immediately cursed out loud, ”Lei Qingqing, you venomous bitch...”

Lei Qingqing raised a hand to catch the foot Xu Xia kicked at her. With a light squeeze, the injector had already popped open.

”No!” Leng Zirui spoke in a low voice. ”I like my prey alive and kicking. Playing with a docile cat is boring.”

”All right then.” Lei Qingqing dropped Xu Xia’s foot and handed the syringe back to her subordinate. ”But you’d better keep a tight leash on your cat. Don’t let her cause me trouble.”

Leng Zirui bent down and lightly kissed Xu Xia’s earlobe, his eyes lifting slightly to look at Lei Qingqing, his gaze suggestive. ”Dear Miss Qing Qing, is that a warning?”

”I’m just reminding you,” Lei Qingqing said with a smile. ”I suppose I should leave you some private time together.”
