After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 648: Chapter 652: Zimo OR Xiao Xiao Qian [1]

Soon, a bowl of wontons with broth was brought over, but he didn’t place it in front of her. Instead, he dished out a few wontons into a smaller bowl, carefully blew on them until they were warm, and then brought them to her mouth with a spoon.

”I’m not a baby who needs to be spoon-fed,” Luo Xiaoqian said as she reached for the bowl.

”You may not be a baby, but you are a baby’s mother,” Leng Zimo said indulgently with a smile. ”Be good, open your mouth, eat slowly, chew more. That way you won’t feel nauseated.”

Left with no choice, she helplessly allowed herself to be fed by him, bite by bite, like a baby that couldn’t take care of itself.

Perhaps she was truly hungry, or maybe it was because he kept her distracted with conversation while feeding her, but she nearly finished the entire bowl of wontons without the slightest adverse reaction.

”Did you put something in this soup? Why doesn’t it make me feel sick?” Luo Xiaoqian asked as she sipped the broth.

”Of course,” Leng Zimo teased. ”My son knows his dad made it with his own hands, so naturally, he wouldn’t let you throw it up.”

”Who said it’s a son? It might be a daughter,” Luo Xiaoqian countered.

”A daughter would be even better, daughters are closer to their dads,” Leng Zimo replied as he took a napkin and wiped the broth from her mouth. ”Whether it’s a son or a daughter, as long as it’s from you, I’ll love them just the same.”

Luo Xiaoqian grinned wickedly. ”Be careful, or I might give birth to a Nezha!”

Leng Zimo gently pinched her cheek. ”Don’t worry, I don’t carry those genes. At most, you’ll give birth to a little Zimo, or perhaps a little Xiao Qian.”

Setting the soup bowl aside, he lifted her up from the dining chair and walked towards the staircase.

Luo Xiaoqian wrapped her arms around his neck. ”At this rate, by the time Xiao Bao is born, I’m afraid I’ll have regressed to the point where I can’t take care of myself.”

”That would be perfect!” Leng Zimo kissed her face with a laugh. ”I’ll just need to take care of two babies.”

Luo Xiaoqian rested her head on his shoulder, pressing her face against his.

”Zimo, I feel like I’m the happiest person in the world right now.”

”Wrong!” he said with a light smile. ”You’re the second, I’m the first.”

Being loved is a bliss, and to have someone to love is blissful too!

...

...

The next day, Leng Zimo personally took Luo Xiaoqian to the hospital where Shen Yizhou worked to see the obstetrician and gynecologist.

Thanks to Shen Yizhou’s arrangements, Mo Qingping, the OB/GYN specialist who was supposed to be off that day, also came to the hospital specifically to examine Luo Xiaoqian.

After asking about Luo Xiaoqian’s condition, Mo Qingping prescribed a series of tests for her, then personally accompanied her to the ultrasound room for an early pregnancy check. Leng Zimo followed closely, carefully assisting Luo Xiaoqian onto the examination table.

Next to them, Dr. Mo Qingping watched his attentive manner and could only smile.

”I remember when Mr. Leng used to bring his wife for check-ups, he was just like this. He acted as if his wife was made of fragile porcelain. At that time, I had just joined the hospital as an intern. We young doctors were so envious!”

Leng Zimo wasn’t fazed, but Luo Xiaoqian’s face was already blushing.

As Mo Qingping applied the gel to her abdomen and began the ultrasound examination with care, Leng Zimo gripped Luo Xiaoqian’s hand and kept his gaze fixed on the screen.

”Aunt Mo, how are things?”

Dr. Mo Qingping had been at the hospital for over twenty years. When Leng Zimo was born, she was a midwife and witnessed his birth, hence Leng Zimo referred to her as Aunt.
