After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 639: Chapter 643: Father Leng’s Mood【4】

Shen Yizhou took a deep breath, ”Kidney failure cannot be ruled out. Of course, as you said, that is the worst-case scenario. Perhaps it’s just common renal atrophy. After all, Father Leng is at that age, and it’s normal for elderly people to have some kidney damage to varying degrees. We can only make a definitive diagnosis after a thorough checkup.”

Leng Zimo placed the test results back in his hands, ”Then let’s do the checkup!”

He had known Shen Yizhou for more than a year or two and knew that if Shen Yizhou didn’t feel something was amiss, he wouldn’t have discussed the matter so seriously.

Even if Shen Yizhou tried to make light of everything, Leng Zimo understood that his father’s health was probably not very promising.

”I’ve already made the arrangements, but...” Shen Yizhou’s eyebrows furrowed slightly, ”should we keep this from Father Leng?”

”For now, don’t let him know,” Leng Zimo said.

Shen Yizhou nodded, ”Then you and Xiao Qian will have to figure out something. You know Father Leng’s temperament. He probably won’t be able to stay here for even one day without insisting on being discharged. Regardless, his current condition warrants bed rest.”

Leng Lin’s personality was very much like Leng Zimo’s—the father and son hated hospitals the most, especially after Mother Leng passed away. They resented hospitals deeply, so much so that Leng Lin would call a doctor home for treatment even for a mere headache or fever and seldom came to the hospital.

If they didn’t tell him about the situation, getting him to stay quietly in the hospital bed would be no easy task.

”Okay!” Leng Zimo slipped his hand into his coat pocket and turned to leave.

”Zimo!” Shen Yizhou hurried forward a few steps and stopped him, ”I don’t know if there’s been another problem between you two, but I just want to remind you—Father Leng’s blood pressure is very high, and his blood condition is not good either. It’s best not to get him too agitated; it’s dangerous.”

Leng Zimo looked up and sighed towards the ceiling, ”I got it!”

Seeing that Shen Yizhou had no intention of pressing for the truth, he didn’t ask any further questions.

Leaving Shen Yizhou’s office and heading back to the ward, Leng Zimo saw Leng Zirui approaching hurriedly from afar. Leng Zimo immediately went up to intercept him.

”How’s the old man, he’s not been knocked into dementia, has he?!” Leng Zirui teased, attempting to move past him into the room.

”Come here!”

Leng Zimo reached out and grabbed his arm, striding toward the nearby lounge.

Leng Zirui turned to him with a playful grin, ”I haven’t even seen the old man yet!”

Leng Zimo let go of him and continued quickly forward.

”Alright, alright, you’re the boss in our family; I’ll listen to you!”

Leng Zirui, sensing the aura around him, hurriedly caught up.

Once inside the lounge, Leng Zimo stopped in the center, ”Close the door!”

Leng Zirui did as told, shut the door, and turned to see Leng Zimo approaching. He immediately retreated with a laugh.

”Hey, bro, stay cool. Remember, I’m the full-contact fighting champion of the team; you’re no match for me. Can’t we talk this through like gentlemen, without getting physical?”

Step by step, Leng Zimo made his way directly to him.

Backed against the wall with nowhere to go, Leng Zirui raised his palms in surrender.

”Okay, I admit it; I didn’t tell you because I was scared you’d do something rash in the heat of the moment. You’re about to get married, and you’re going to be a dad soon. You can’t be impulsive anymore. If something happens, what will Qian do?”
