After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 640: Chapter 644: Father Leng’s Mood【5】

Leng Zirui had just made a trip back to the Leng family because he was uneasy about how things would unfold after the incident.

When he heard from Aunt Su that the old master had fallen and was injured, he rushed to the hospital immediately.

Just by looking at Leng Zimo’s expression, he could guess that their eldest brother must have known about it.

Phew!

Leng Zimo’s fist swung hurriedly towards him, stopping just short of his nose.

”This beating, I’ll remember it for now!”

”Fine, keep tabs, keep tabs, put the weapon away, careful not to hurt someone unintentionally!” Leng Zirui laughed as he pushed away the fist that was aimed at his nose, ”That said, I’ll go check on the old master first.”

”Stop right there!” Leng Zimo lowered his hand and called out sharply.

”I know, and Xiao Qian’s share too, put it all on my tab, that should settle it, right?” Leng Zirui said with a smile.

Leng Zimo sighed, ”The check-up results aren’t good.”

”What?” Leng Zirui’s smile faded from his face, ”What happened?”

”The fall isn’t the issue, but his kidneys aren’t in good shape, Yizhou said the situation isn’t looking optimistic, he needs to be hospitalized for a thorough check-up.” Leng Zimo furrowed his brow, ”Let’s keep this from him for now, think of a way to convince him to stay in the hospital for a few more days. I just lost my temper at him; if I change my attitude all of a sudden, he might get suspicious.”

”Okay, I’ll handle this.” Leng Zirui gave Leng Zimo a firm look, ”How is Xiao Qian’s mood?”

Leng Zimo just gave him a fierce glare, and Leng Zirui shrugged his shoulders, pulling open the door to the resting room.

When the two brothers returned to the hospital room, they saw Luo Xiaoqian chatting with Leng Lin, both the old and the young wearing happy expressions.

Leng Zimo walked straight up to Luo Xiaoqian, ”It’s getting late, let’s head back!”

”Right, sister-in-law, you go back first, I’ll take care of the rest,” Leng Zirui said with a smile as he approached, ”By the way, if you’re still mad, feel free to take it out on me. In the name of brotherhood and the fact I’m still unmarried, please just not the face!”

Seeing the smile on his face, Luo Xiaoqian couldn’t stay angry.

Although Leng Zirui didn’t tell her, she knew that if it weren’t for his investigation, who knows when the truth would have emerged. How could she possibly stay mad at him?

”Alright, let’s go,” Leng Zimo said as he helped her rise from her chair.

”Uncle Leng, I’ll come see you again after work tomorrow, you get some good rest,” Luo Xiaoqian stood up, glanced at Leng Zirui, ”I’ve already called Aunt Su, she’ll bring some food over in a bit. If anything comes up, call us immediately.”

Leng Zirui promptly agreed, ”Understood, your highness sister-in-law, please proceed to leave for your palace!”

Luo Xiaoqian looked at him with a laugh and tears in her eyes, then reminded Father Leng to rest well before leaving the hospital room with Leng Zimo.

After seeing the two off, Leng Zirui immediately went to the bedside and sat down on the chair.

”What is it, old master, was this all a ploy?”

”Nonsense, it was a real fall, no trickery involved!” Leng Lin glanced at him irritably, ”Indeed, having a daughter is better. You two blockheads only know how to anger me, you both together don’t add up to one Xiao Qian!”

Looking at his father’s face and recalling what Leng Zimo had mentioned, Leng Zirui maintained a smile, but a touch of sorrow flashed through his eyes.

Could it be that their father, whom he always thought as strong as steel and unmovable as a mountain, couldn’t escape the common fate of life and death?

So sleepy, that’s it for now
