After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 622: Chapter 626: Gentleman Tang Ming [2]

”This isn’t speculation at all, everything I’ve seen with my own eyes, that video...” Xu Pei suddenly realized she misspoke, and quickly hung her head, taking a sip of water to cover up, ”In any case, she’s not as outstanding as people think she is.”

”So, the plagiarism scandal that’s been all the buzz these past few days, is it true?”

”This...” Xu Pei said with her face down, ”I’m not very clear.”

Noticing the unhealed bruise on one side of her cheek, Tang Ming furrowed his brows and reached out to lift her hair, ”What happened to your face?”

”It’s nothing!” Xu Pei quickly raised her head to push his hand away and placed the cup in her hand on the table, ”It’s getting late, shouldn’t you be resting?”

Tang Ming grabbed her wrist in one swift motion, and his hand stretched out again, moving away the hair that covered her face.

Under the light, he clearly saw several red marks near her left ear, the subdermal hemorrhages left by Leng Zimo’s slap that hadn’t fully faded.

Tang Ming’s brows instantly tightened, and anger appeared in his eyes, ”What happened?”

”I told you to stop asking!” Xu Pei pulled her wrist free and covered her face with her hand, ”Tang Ming, that’s enough, can you just leave me alone for a bit!”

”Was it Leng Zimo who hit you?” Tang Ming asked softly.

Xu Pei didn’t make a sound, only raising her hand to cover her face.

”It really was Leng Zimo!” Tang Ming’s eyes flashed with anger, and he grabbed her head, covering her face. Frowning deeply, he demanded, ”Why, what right does he have to hit you?”

”I don’t want to listen, nor do I want to talk, get out!” Xu Pei buried her face in her knees, crying out shrilly.

”Fine, if you won’t talk, I’ll go find him!” Tang Ming stood up briskly and strode towards the door.

”Tang Ming, stop right there!” Hearing his footsteps, Xu Pei suddenly raised her head; without even bothering with her shoes, she jumped off the bed and blocked his path, ”If you dare to go find him, from today on, you and I are through.”

Tears streaked her face, her hair was disheveled, and her body was spotted with mud from a fall; nowhere was there a trace of the goddess-like Xu Pei of regular days.

”Xiao Pei!” Tang Ming looked at her pitiful state with a pained heart, suddenly stepping forward to embrace her, ”Why put yourself through this?!”

Feeling his warm embrace, all the anger and grievances suppressed over the years could no longer be contained by Xu Pei. Clutching at his clothes, she sobbed uncontrollably, ”He hit me because of that woman, and he said he never wants me in his world again, forbidding me to disturb his life. Tang Ming, do you know? Leng Zimo... he doesn’t want me anymore, he really doesn’t want me anymore!”

”Don’t be sad, don’t cry; everything will get better. If he doesn’t want you, it’s his loss. There are plenty of men out there fighting for you...” Tang Ming held her, stroking her hair and comforting her gently.

”I don’t want any other men; I just want him, I want to be with him!”

”Alright, be with him. Don’t cry anymore, and I promise you, if you stop crying, I’ll help you, help you to be with him, okay?”

”Really?!”

With tears still on her face, Xu Pei looked up at Tang Ming with hopeful eyes.

In the living room, the sound of knocking came.

”You lie down first, I’ll bring in dinner, and then we can talk more, okay?!”
