After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 636: Chapter 640: Father Leng’s Mood【1】

”Zimo!” Luo Xiaoqian had also slightly calmed down by now, seeing Leng Zimo lash out at Father Leng, she quickly tried to stop him, ”Don’t say anymore...”

”You’re right, there’s indeed no need to say anything more!” Leng Zimo bent down to pick up the photos and documents from the ground, hugging Luo Xiaoqian and heading downstairs, ”Let’s go!”

”Zimo, Xiao Qian, stop right there!” Watching the two about to leave, Leng Lin could only shout out in panic, the father-son relationship that had only just been mended, those precious moments of family happiness that had been so hard to come by, how could he let go so easily, ”Both of you, listen to my explanation!”

”Explanation?” Leng Zimo stopped in his tracks, but it was only to not even turn his head, ”There’s nothing to explain, I know, you’re great, you’re glorious, you can swallow your teeth when they’re knocked out, you can abandon your family, wife, and son for your great career... But I can’t do that, I don’t have such lofty ideals, I just want to keep the person I love safe and happy, anyone who’s hurt the people I care about must pay the price, that’s my principle!”

Luo Xiaoqian turned her face to look at the expression on Leng Lin’s face and gently urged, ”Zimo...”

”Let’s go, don’t worry Xiao Qian, this time, I won’t let you suffer the slightest grievance!” Holding her hand, Leng Zimo took large strides down the stairs.

”Zimo!”

Leng Lin hurried after him, knowing his son’s temperament all too well, if he didn’t clarify things this time, he feared that Leng Zimo really might never give him another chance.

Rushing to the edge of the staircase hurriedly, his foot slipped on his slipper, and he lost his balance all at once, tumbling down the stairs.

”Dad!”

”Uncle Leng!”

Hearing the sound behind them, Leng Zimo and Luo Xiaoqian both turned around, seeing Leng Lin falling down the stairs, their faces changed simultaneously, and without a word to each other, they turned and rushed over.

Anger aside, that instinctive familial bond immediately rose to the surface.

With a leap, Leng Zimo extended his arms and firmly grabbed his father’s arms, his body hardened by years of exercise was like a mountain, staunchly stopping his father’s falling body.

”Zimo!” Leng Lin looked up from his embrace, seeing the worried face of Leng Zimo, ”I really didn’t mean to make Xiao Qian suffer, don’t leave, listen to my explanation...”

”Don’t talk!” Leng Zimo interrupted him angrily, ”Xiao Liu, start the car!”

By then, Luo Xiaoqian had also rushed up and supported Leng Lin’s arm, the two of them helping him up from the staircase.

Xiao Liu ran out the door to start the car, and Aunt Su also hurried over to help.

”I’m fine, just help me to the sofa!” Leng Lin gripped Leng Zimo’s arm tightly as he stood up from the staircase, ”No need for the hospital.”

”What nonsense,” Leng Zimo turned around, offering his back to him, ”Come on, I’ll carry you to the car!”

”Really, there’s no need...”

”Uncle Leng, stop being so stubborn, let Zimo carry you for a checkup, we’ll all be at ease if nothing is wrong!” Luo Xiaoqian urged, supporting Leng Lin’s arm.

”Yes, you’re getting older, it’s essential to get checked out,” Aunt Su also advised on the side.

Leng Lin looked at his son’s broad back in front of him and stopped insisting, simply stretching out his arms and leaning on Leng Zimo’s back.

Luo Xiaoqian helped to open the front door, rushed out to open the car door swiftly, and Leng Zimo carefully placed his father on the back seat. Meanwhile, Aunt Su quickly gathered things like Leng Lin’s medical card that might be needed and brought them out...
