After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 644: Chapter 648: The Treatment of Expectant Mothers [1]

”I really am fine...” Luo Xiaoqian had only spoken a few words when suddenly she was seized by another bout of dry heaving, bending over and retching for a long time without anything coming out.

When she straightened up again, Leng Zimo looked at her pale face and furrowed his brow as he steadied her shoulders, ”Be honest with me, how many days has it been?”

”It’s been...” Luo Xiaoqian pursed her lips, ”like three or four days now.”

Because she had been busy these past few days, she hadn’t had much of an appetite, and with the hot weather, Luo Xiaoqian had just assumed it was a mild case of heatstroke and didn’t think much of it. Additionally, with all that had happened today, she hadn’t mentioned it to him.

”Idiot!” Leng Zimo cursed softly, wrapping his arms around her waist, ”We’re going to the hospital right now.”

”It wasn’t this serious before, just a bit of nausea. Today was the first time I threw up. It must be because the spaghetti didn’t taste good, let’s just go home...” Luo Xiaoqian stubbornly refused to go, he had just come back from abroad and hadn’t even rested; she couldn’t bear to have him fuss over her any further, ”I promise, I’ll have Yu Tong take me to the hospital tomorrow morning for a thorough check-up.”

”No, we’re going now!” Leng Zimo said, not allowing for discussion as he led her out.

After settling the bill, they went straight back to the car and he started the vehicle, driving towards the nearest hospital.

When they reached an intersection, Leng Zimo suddenly pulled the car over to the side of the road.

Turning to face her, he gripped her arm. Leng Zimo spoke in a tone that was serious and formal, ”Xiao Qian, besides feeling nauseous, do you have any other symptoms?”

”I just feel kind of lazy and sleepy, and then I’m always hungry. Also, certain smells make me want to throw up...” Seeing the serious expression on Leng Zimo’s face, she took it as concern that she might be showing unusual symptoms, ”It’s fine, Zimo, don’t worry. I guess it might just be a bit of heatstroke, it’s nothing serious, you don’t need to be so anxious.”

”I don’t think it looks like heatstroke,” Leng Zimo said.

”You’re not a doctor. If it’s not heatstroke, it’s probably just a cold...”

”Xiao Qian!” Leng Zimo raised his hand to cradle her face, ”Could you be pregnant?”

”Pregnant?” Luo Xiaoqian laughed, ”How could that be?”

”Why couldn’t it be?” he countered.

Looking at his expression, her smile stiffened and her voice tensed unconsciously, ”What date is it today?”

”The 25th,” Leng Zimo’s gaze swept over her abdomen, ”If I’m not mistaken, that should be around the time of your menstrual cycle, right?”

Luo Xiaoqian’s face fell almost instantly, ”Could it be, am I really pregnant?”

Nausea, retching, sleepiness... All these symptoms were similar to what Huangfu Ruo had described as her pregnancy reactions, and, more importantly, her period was already several days late.

Initially, she hadn’t paid much attention to it, attributing the delay to being too busy.

Now that Leng Zimo had brought it up, however, it seemed more and more likely.

Luo Xiaoqian swallowed nervously.

Upgrading to motherhood for the first time in her life, and under such sudden circumstances, she naturally felt more shocked than joyful.

”Zimo, what do we do?” She raised a hand to grasp his arm, frowning as she asked.

Leng Zimo watched her with a smile, ”If you’re pregnant, we’ll have the baby!”

”But...”

”You don’t want the child?!”

”It’s not that... it’s just...” Luo Xiaoqian held his fingers, ”I’m... a bit scared.”

”Scared of what?” Leng Zimo extended his arms to embrace her, patting her back reassuringly, ”I am here...”

”You can’t give birth for me,” Luo Xiaoqian murmured in his embrace.
