After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 603: Chapter 607 Progress of the Case [3]

”The two of you, please follow me to the reception room to talk,” Leng Zimo said with a hand gesture, as he led Luo Xiaoqian, along with two police officers and the company’s lawyer, into the office’s reception room.

The five people took their seats respectively, Ailin served tea and left the room.

Leng Zimo gestured with his hand for both to drink some tea, ”Now, has there been any progress in the case?”

”After our interrogation last night, the busking teenager has confessed. He was indeed instructed by someone. The recording material was given to him by others. He did such a thing because he received money from someone,” Officer Zhou said with a frown, ”However, he still hasn’t been able to provide the specific details of the person who instructed him. That person seems to be extremely cautious; they always made contact through text messages, and all materials were passed on through leaving them in a certain place for him to collect. We’ve traced the phone number that sent the messages, but there’s been no result so far. The money transferred to him came from an overseas confidential account; without sufficient evidence, we have no way to get the account holder’s information.”

Leng Zimo furrowed his brows; this person’s approach was almost identical to the way Xu Pei had contacted Su Jin.

Could it be that this was also Xu Pei’s doing?

”We’ve come this time to ask the two of you for some details, and we also wanted to ask Miss Luo if she has any enemies!” Officer Zhou paused slightly, ”Because of the previous incident, we have reason to believe that these two cases might be related, so they have now been combined under one department.”

Luo Xiaoqian nodded, ”Alright, I will provide any information you need to the best of my ability.”

The policewoman surnamed Li took out paper and pen and asked her a series of relevant questions.

Leng Zimo also provided additional information.

After the company’s lawyer had carefully verified the accuracy of the testimony, the two signed their names on the document, and the two officers stood up to take their leave.

”If there’s any progress with the case, we will keep you informed at any time.”

”Okay, thank you for your hard work,” said Leng Zimo with a nod, and the lawyer escorted the two officers out of the conference room.

Glancing at his watch, Leng Zimo gently held Luo Xiaoqian’s arm, ”There’s another press conference to be held this afternoon, do you want to take a rest for a while?”

”It’s okay, I prepared very thoroughly yesterday,” Luo Xiaoqian returned a smile to him.

”What did Xu Pei say to you last night?” Leng Zimo asked.

Xu Pei was tough, and he was a little worried she might have said something extreme to Luo Xiaoqian, possibly hurting her.

”She told you?” Luo Xiaoqian said with her tongue out, ”Actually, it’s nothing serious, she just declared war on me!”

”Declared war?”

”Yeah, a battle for love, right? She is the attacker, and I am the defender!” Luo Xiaoqian placed her hand on his chest, ”Don’t worry, I won’t let the enemy take you away!”

Seeing her relaxed expression, Leng Zimo finally felt relieved.

He reached out and touched her little head, speaking gently, ”You too be assured, my fortress will never open to someone else.”

”Of course!” Luo Xiaoqian picked up the key around her neck and shook it, ”The key is with me, no one but me can open the gates!”

Leng Zimo smiled, ”Alright, guardian of the fortress, to ensure you perform your best this afternoon, go and rest for a while now. I’ll go arrange the press conference and see if there are any clues in addition,...”
