High School of Demon Hunting

Chapter 1895: Chapter 116: Three Things

When speaking the last sentence, the professor lowered his voice, but then he winked at the little witch: ”...such as drinking lava when thirsty, chewing on mineral soil when hungry, and so on. Demons have very strong endurance.”

Li Meng sat back in her seat with a satisfied smile after her curiosity was piqued.

”Professor, if the Sea Demon King became an ancient one, what about our ancient wizards?” Another male student immediately stood up and asked with a slightly excited and urgent tone: ”What about the principal? If they intervene, surely they could keep the Sea Demon King here!”

”Yes, that’s surely no problem!”

”Exactly.”

”Isn’t it obvious?”

Voices of chaotic chatter rose up from the audience, with some containing slightly ’rational’ responses: ”The principal is probably being entangled by other ancient demons! They have always been so cunning.”

”Aren’t there only one ancient demon? It’s the ancestor of the demons...rumor has it that it has been hiding somewhere, in a dormant state.”

”Maybe the principal has found its hiding place, so couldn’t make it back in time.”

”Are you suggesting that the demon ancestor might already be caught by the principal?”

”Using the word ’caught’ is too euphemistic; such high-level existences can cause the earth and sky to shatter with a mere gesture, how could they be like us...”

Zheng Qing listened to the chaotic analyses around him and instinctively rolled his eyes. He didn’t think the professor had the leisure time to find trouble with the demon ancestor; more likely during the Black Prison battle, the professor was snoring away with the flower cat in the shop.

On the podium, Old Yao listened with a smile to the young wizards’ imaginative thoughts.

Until the atmosphere slightly calmed.

He then coughed lightly, took out a pocket watch and glanced at the time: ”Ahem...time is limited, if anyone has any thoughts, you can bring them up in tomorrow’s class. We have a few minutes left, let me mention a few things.”

Saying this, his expression and tone both became solemn.

Feeling his attitude, the students fell silent, sitting upright in earnest.

”Firstly, regarding the trial before the start of the semester.”

Professor Yao paced slowly on the podium, holding a pipe, his voice not loud yet clearly audible to every student: ”Recently, I heard a professor say something that I found very reasonable. He said ’Good judgment comes from experience, but experience often leads to poor judgment.’

”This sentence also applies very well to your freshman trial.”

”Good practical ability comes from trials, but trials often lead you to ignore more fundamental theory. The new semester has begun, I hope those students who achieved good results in this trial can calm down, let practice feed back into theory, and strengthen the foundation of their magic study; those who did not achieve good results should pay more attention to daily courses and basic learning, so that you can better guide your subsequent practice.”

”Of course, I will still carefully review your trial reports one by one. Each time you come alive from a trial ground, hunting ground, or battlefield, seriously revisit what you gained and lost between life and death. This is a bit of advice from an old man who has been alive for a long time to you young people.”

Although he wasn’t looking at the students when he said this, his gaze casually fell between the podium and the classroom door, Zheng Qing felt that his warning was particularly directed at himself.

He immediately picked up a pen and wrote ’revisit’ in his notebook, having a vague idea for Absolution Hunting Team’s upcoming gathering theme—at the end of last semester, the team participated in several high-intensity events, it can be said that the practical experience is very sufficient, and now what is lacking is to turn this experience into something more tangible and consolidate the team’s foundation.

Revisiting is very necessary.

”Secondly!”

Professor Yao raised his voice slightly, interrupting the young cost student’s reverie, and looked forward, the professor was scanning the classroom, his gaze passed over every student:

”I reviewed the schedules you submitted. It is obvious that many people hold the idea of laziness, opting for courses that have high credits, are easy to learn, and have easy-going teachers.”

Many students subconsciously lowered their heads, some even blushed.

But immediately, the professor added: ”...this is human nature, no need to feel ashamed. Since the school arranged those courses and allows you to choose them, it must be because they are useful and beneficial to you. Choosing them is never wrong.”

”What I want to emphasize here is that elective courses are also compulsory courses; you can’t selectively attend classes just because the name has ’elective’ in it. Three days of fishing and two days of drying nets, occasionally skipping a class, that is wrong, and is absolutely not allowed at Jiuyou Academy!”

”It’s sinful!”

The stick figure behind the door shouted at the top of its lungs: ”How beautiful it is to be able to sit in a spacious classroom listening to lectures...and yet there are still people skipping classes!”

”Of course, we haven’t found anyone who is truly skipping class yet.”

Professor Yao picked up a piece of chalk from the lecture table, lobbed it friendly at the stick figure to signal it to shut up: ”...just a preventive measure to avoid you picking up bad habits from some senior students.”

The classroom immediately resonated with chaotic agreeing responses; many loudly assured the professor that they would never cut classes, promising to attend even when sick, and so on.

Old Yao picked up the lecture notes on the table, listened with a grin to the students’ vows, then chuckled: ”Remember what you said, these words are certified by a legendary wizard, if you violate them, bear the consequences on your own... The last thing, the opening ceremony will be held next Friday, remember to wash your robes, polish your academy and school emblems, make a good impression on the new students!”

After saying this, he strutted out of the classroom, ignoring the difficult look on the students’ faces after just boasting; but just as he stepped out the door, he suddenly remembered something, patting his head, and poked his half body back into the classroom:

”Oh, right, starting this semester, you won’t need to write living reports anymore, but you will need to continue completing your line drawings... they can greatly substitute your living reports. If we have enough time in any meeting, I might choose a student to come up and analyze their line drawing, just like you shared living reports last semester.”

The classroom immediately filled with cries of complaint.

Zheng Qing had an awful feeling; he was sure he would be dragged onto the podium by Old Yao.

”Ah, we’re doomed!”

Zheng Qing suddenly remembered something, his face changed, and he looked at a few companions beside him: ”Old Yao mentioned there were flaws with Black Prison World hunting goods? Then what about the ones we’ve sold from the shop...”

”You just realized?”

Xiao Xiao shot him a sidelong glance and scoffed: ”By the time you realize it, our shop would have been forcibly shut down long ago. A few days ago, Fox Five already reported to me that clients have reflected product quality defects... the prices have been uniformly adjusted already.”

”Why didn’t I know?” Zheng Qing felt slightly dissatisfied.

The doctor rolled his eyes: ”When have you ever cared about specific store operations? Whether you know or don’t know, does it make any difference?”

Zheng Qing thought about it carefully for a moment and couldn’t help but admit the doctor indeed made sense.

Even if he knew, it wouldn’t make a difference, just another futile worry.
