High School of Demon Hunting

Chapter 1852: Chapter 73: Blackhand’s Choice

”Stop them!”

The young cost student jumped up, shouting in a panic, ”Quick, stop them!”

It must be acknowledged that Zheng Qing’s action was very decisive, not even consulting his companions before directly giving the order. And the other hunters of the Absolution Hunting Team responded extremely quickly; as soon as they received the order, two Binding Spells and two Soft Leg Curses flew out, respectively enveloping the two ogres still indulging in the illusory world, foolishly walking towards the main tent.

But it was ultimately a bit too late.

When Zheng Qing shouted, the four spells had just left the pages of the Law book.

The two ogres suddenly opened wide their eyes, looking around in panic—Zheng Qing could even see a thread of pleading and boundless fear in their bewildered, darting eyes—then their bodies rapidly swelled like inflating balloons, becoming two genuine balloons in an instant.

Thick blood vessels and complex tattooed marks on their taut skin filled with strange tension, as if leaf veins constructing gorgeous yet cruel magic circuits. Blood and magic power flowed through them like heavy drumbeats, shaking the heart.

Boom!

Boom!

Two loud explosions rang out successively, massive sound waves accompanied by intense air currents, impacting towards all directions with the two ogres at the center.

Blood and flesh splattered, black smoke rolled, blue flames flickered, twisted light, rubble, wood splinters, chaotic air currents, and the startled faces of young wizards intertwined in a bizarre spectacle.

In mid-air.

The spell light of the Soft Leg Curse was instantly scattered.

In contrast, the spell light of the Binding Spell did slightly better, as the vines turned into two differently thick shields instantly when faced with the shockwave.

But it was only a little better, as the powerful shockwave still easily tore through the two shields, continuing to ravage in all directions.

”Restricting South Mountain, Maintaining Rock-like Firmness!”

To everyone’s surprise, in the blink of an eye, it was Li Meng who erected this defense spell.

The Little Witch tightened her small face, raised her hands high, and the pink magic book floated in front of her, flipping rapidly; spell formulas rose from the book pages like earthen dragons, merging into the several reliant rock mountains above everyone’s heads.

The One-eyed Crow spread its wings, covering its head, quivering under the Little Witch’s feet, as if it could shake off all the feathers on its body.

”Unshaken, Unmoved; Unperturbed, Unafraid!”

”Evaluate the situation!”

Two clear spell incantations rose successively under the illusory rock mountains, released by Xiao Xiao, calming the minds of the young wizards, helping them assess this absurd scene before them.

At the same time, Jiang Yu also flipped the Law book, releasing another ’Restricting South Mountain’, replacing Li Meng, who already showed a hint of tiredness on her face, to protect everyone.

Xin Fat Man’s eyes slowly lost their blue hue, and he turned towards Zheng Qing with a tense face, ”Why did they choose to blow up their own scouts... and companions?”

Zheng Qing silently looked at the two shallow red-black pits not far away, after a while, he muttered, ”...perhaps it never considered them as companions at all.”

Everyone knew the ’it’ he referred to was the Two-headed Ogre.

Though everyone had a certain mental preparation for the cruel, cold-blooded world of ogres, hearing Zheng Qing’s judgment at this moment still chilled their hearts, subconsciously following the warlock’s gaze to look beyond the camp.

...

Outside the camp.

The returning Ogre Hunting Team.

Blackhand had waved vigorously not long after the two ’scouts’ left the team, signaling his companions to share the freshly hunted prey. Those clumsy ogres did not understand why the leader suddenly became so generous, nor why they had to dine outside the camp, but they enthusiastically began their picnic.

Wild boar, elk, venomous snake, hyena, vulture, water ghost, etc., the ogres’ powerful digestive systems did not care about the variety of food, always able to produce enough gastric juice to digest them cleanly.

In a very short time, when the two scouts stepped past the camp gate, the hunted prey had already been divided up by the ogres, leaving only scattered bits of blood and flesh from the torn spoils on the ground.

Blackhand did not join the feast.

He kept his arms crossed, scrutinizing the ’calm’ camp in the distance carefully—until two earth-shattering explosions sounded from the camp.

The Two-headed Ogre’s gaze remained calm, only when several semi-transparent, earth-yellow phantom shadows of rock mountains abruptly appeared above the camp did the pustule under its chin unknowingly tremble slightly twice.

The two explosions were so astounding that even the ogre hunters in the midst of their feast were startled, opening their bewildered eyes to gaze at the camp where dust was billowing.

”Leader!”

A shorter ogre, but with anxiety flashing in its eyes, dragged the freshly gnawed clean wild boar thigh bone, approaching Blackhand’s side, glancing at the rising dust in the distance.

Ordinary ogres’ dull brains hardly supported their complex thinking, but it didn’t mean they couldn’t sense the risks hidden under the distant dust.

Blackhand silently scrutinized the several rock mountain phantoms slightly shimmering in the explosion’s shock.

After a while.

He waved his hand vigorously, simply spitting out a word: ”Kill!”

...

When Zheng Qing looked at the Two-headed Ogre, he unexpectedly found it had once again brought him a surprise—this was an ogre that always managed to bring ’surprises’.

The double heads was the first surprise.

Camping without return, sending out two scouts was the second surprise.

The two scouts turned out to be suicide warriors, using the simplest and crudest means to shatter the wizards’ trap was the third surprise.

Then, the young wizards of the Absolution Hunting Team received the fourth surprise—when the explosion ended and they came back to their senses, covered in dirt, they surprisingly found that the Two-headed Ogre had not taken the opportunity to escape but had instead brazenly approached the camp much closer with its ogre minions.

”Among them, only that Two-headed Ogre has strength reaching the registered wizard level, the others are not threatening.”

”We can’t simply compare data. My brother has told me many stories about ogres, especially their methods when breaking wizards’ leg bones... so I think we need to be concerned.”

”It looks like one Soft Leg Curse could handle it.”

”Most of the time, feelings and reality often don’t match.”

”Right! No one notices the fly... until it lands in your soup.” Xiao Xiao adjusted his glasses, with a serious expression, ”I agree with the elders’ opinion, I too dislike that filthy beast. It exudes a disturbing aura.”

”What aura?” Zheng Qing tilted his head, curiously glanced at the doctor.

The doctor touched the turtle shell in his arms, softly replied, ”Trying to conceal greed and brutal instincts with clumsy and sluggish actions. Sour-scented deceit. Burnt hatred.”

”I suddenly have an urge to dissect it.” Xin Fat Man chuckled, flipping the snow-white scalpel between his fingers, ”To confirm if it really has as many auras as the doctor said.”
