Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 748: Chapter 385: Blossoms of Wealth and Honor

The people in the living room started to move, greeting her one after another.

Autumn Stetford walked into the living room, arm in arm with Ruby Sheldon.

When Ruby Sheldon entered the bright area with a sweet smile, the previously noisy living room suddenly fell silent.

Lawrence Winters shifted his gaze from Autumn Stetford and settled on Ruby Sheldon, his eye twitching slightly.

She understood why everyone suddenly became silent.

Even Mrs. Fu couldn’t help but turn her head to glance at her, hiding a smile behind her hand.

This is truly ”wearing the same dress isn’t scary, whoever looks worse is embarrassed.”

By coincidence, Ruby Sheldon had worn a dress almost identical to the vintage Dior dress on Lawrence Winters. It was also a full-skirted, cinched waist puff dress, with just some different details.

Lawrence’s dress was a light champagne color, intended to match the Carp Pendant on her neck made of tianhuang stone.

Meanwhile, Ruby Sheldon’s dress was cherry blossom pink, and the sleeves were different; instead of a wrap-around style, they were puff sleeves, like a princess dress.

This style looks fine on its own, but compared to the wrap-around sleeves of Lawrence’s dress, it seemed a bit childish.

More crucially, this style of dress is very picky about the figure; it requires a stunningly beautiful body to complement it, rather than hiding any body flaws.

Ruby Sheldon actually had a nice figure.

She wasn’t tall but suited this style, looking delicate like a doll on her own.

Otherwise, she and Autumn Stetford wouldn’t have chosen this style at the Dior couture.

The designer who did the couture said this style was vintage, and very few people could wear it well.

But they wanted to challenge the impossible, wearing a style that other socialites couldn’t pull off.

Unfortunately, next to a model like Lawrence Winters, tall with long legs and a slim waist, Ruby Sheldon didn’t stand out.

Initially, she thought her waist was slim enough, but Lawrence Winters visibly had a waist half an inch slimmer than hers.

She believed her legs were well-proportioned; even though she wasn’t tall, her leg length proportion was high.

But compared to Lawrence’s tall frame and 120 cm legs, Ruby’s legs seemed only 60 cm long, just half of Lawrence’s.

Of course, their height difference wasn’t that significant; it was purely the visual effect caused by the dress.

On site, the visual effect of this comparison was simply brutal.

Though no one in the living room said a word, their eyes wandered between Lawrence Winters and Ruby Sheldon, faces adorned with teasing, amused smiles.

Ruby, being younger, couldn’t bear her meticulously prepared coming-of-age birthday attention being stolen by an ordinary person.

Her facial expression changed repeatedly, hands behind her back, until she finally turned her head, tears welling up in her big eyes.

Autumn Stetford had already noticed Lawrence Winters, but unlike Ruby, she wasn’t as dramatic. She merely gave Lawrence a deep look, then looked away, nonchalantly saying to everyone in the living room, ”Sorry everyone, we didn’t expect that the clothes we had custom-made could also be found outside. Looks like Dior is about to lose us as clients.”

It’s widely known that for high-end brands, bespoke couture clothing being unique is the fundamental principle.

Otherwise, why pay ten or even a hundred times the price for couture?

Is it because of having too much money or trying to show off and failing?
