Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 745: Chapter 384: A Prestigious Family (First Update)

The atmosphere in the car was very harmonious, and before they knew it, they arrived at the famous Wells Residence Garden of the Sheldon Family within the second ring of the Capital City.

As they got out of the car, Lawrence Winters was stunned by the scenery here.

”...Oh my, isn’t that the famous Imperial City over there?” Lawrence’s gaze drifted toward the red brick walls to the east.

The palace that once housed emperors for six hundred years, with a faint Purple Energy lingering over the Imperial City.

And the Wells Residence Garden of the Sheldon Family was right on the west side of that magnificent Imperial City.

”Purple Energy from the east. This Feng Shui is extraordinary.” Lawrence murmured, retracting his gaze from the Imperial City and turning to face the Sheldon Family’s estate ahead.

This estate of the Sheldon Family was a former prince’s residence, with the front residence and rear garden, all called the Wells Residence Garden.

The main gate was also the highest standard within the prince’s residence, known as the five-span three-door, topped with green glazed tiles and a stern red door with imposing door studs, looking exceptionally majestic.

Looking again at the ”Purple Energy from the East” hovering from the Imperial City, Lawrence pursed his lips.

As far as he knew, the Sheldon Family was just wealthy, even if they topped the wealth rankings, they couldn’t bear such ”Purple Energy from the East.”

From a Feng Shui perspective, families like the Sheldon Family are called ”unable to bear supplement”; their family fortune would be greatly affected.

Yet Lawrence also knew that for families like the Sheldons, their homes must have been vetted by a Grand Geomancer.

So such a layout must have no issues.

It could only be said that there might be many things about the Sheldon Family that outsiders didn’t know.

Otherwise, relying solely on this five-gate stance of the prince’s residence and the decades of ”Purple Energy from the East,” the ”unable to bear supplement” Sheldon Family would have long since declined.

Lawrence smirked slightly, feeling a bit better.

If the Sheldon Family also looked down on him, he wouldn’t be easily bullied either!

Lawrence straightened his back, feeling for the first time the strength of his status as a Grand Geomancer.

Edward Foster also got out of the car, smiling, ”I’ll go with my dad to the Hua Dao Hall over there, you go with my mom to the Cui Jing Pavilion.”

Lawrence nodded, quietly asked him, ”Has this estate always belonged to the Sheldon Family?”

”Of course not.” Edward shook his head, ”This was a prince’s residence, originally belonging to the last prince’s family, later sold by one of the irresponsible descendants, changed hands several times, and the Sheldon Family only bought it forty years ago.”

”No wonder.” Lawrence chuckled softly, took Mrs. Foster’s arm, and went in with her.

The Sheldon Family had prepared especially meticulously this time for Ruby Sheldon’s twenty-first birthday adult ceremony.

Just the staff welcoming guests at the door numbered in the dozens.

As Mrs. Foster and Lawrence walked in, someone immediately came to verify their invitation and then took them to the Cui Jing Pavilion by a small car.

A place where one can take a car even in their own home...

Lawrence thought of his own large flat, sighed.

Hmm, poverty had limited his imagination.

At least there were no traffic lights in the hallway at his home.

The Sheldon Family’s in-home guest shuttle looked like the small electric carts used on golf courses, sitting inside allowed for viewing the scenery along the way.

The buildings within the prince’s residence were all built around a clear small river.

There were corridors everywhere along the river, wisteria flowers dangling from screen walls, the banks lush with freshly blooming flowers, delicate pink peonies, dignified pink-and-white peonies, deeply reserved roses, extravagant bright red overgrown roses, and clusters of tulips, all extravagantly arranged in floral splendor.

Finally, the small car stopped in front of a moon gate.

Mrs. Foster led Lawrence down from the car, through the moon gate, and over the courtyard surrounded by bamboo, to a delicate and stylish small building.

Mrs. Foster smiled and said, ”In ancient times, this small building would be a standard graceful house, where only the most beloved daughters of the family could live.”

Lawrence understood and smiled, ”Then is this Miss Sheldon’s residence?”

”Mrs. Sheldon wouldn’t let her daughter live here alone.” Mrs. Foster laughed, ”Ruby Sheldon lives with Mr. Sheldon and his wife, over in the main house.”

It indeed sounded like Mrs. Foster knew the Sheldon Family well.

Thinking further, Mrs. Foster had been engaged to a big shot like Aiden Sheldon when she was young, and Lawrence understood.

No wonder she knows so much.

Lawrence perked up his ears as Mrs. Foster started to share gossip about the Sheldon Family.

But Mrs. Foster didn’t say more, leading him up the steps.

Lawrence looked up and noticed that the Cui Jing Pavilion seemed to have been recently renovated.

There was a Persian-patterned carpet on the ground, with a peacock blue velvet single sofa at the entrance.

Just inside the door, there was an openwork mahogany partition, creating an entrance hall, with a Luohan bed placed by the window behind the partition.

Facing the main entrance was a spacious living room with several oversized sectional sofas.

Also peacock blue in color, they stood out and appeared dignified amidst all the redwood furniture in the room.

The room was already filled with quite a few people, scattered around standing or sitting, all dressed very formally.

The sky outside gradually darkened, and the lights in the yard and house lit up.

The crystal lamps covered with a soft white gauze, as if they were professionally lit, made everyone’s makeup more perfect, and jewelry even more dazzling.

Older women mostly wore qipaos or qipao-style evening gowns.

The younger women were all in evening dresses, some with exposed shoulders, others with bare chests, or revealed thighs.

The Dior dress Lawrence wore was considered the most uniquely styled.

It seemed to wrap him up the most, with nothing exposed.

Yet at a glance, it made it hard to look away.

From his slender neck, to his delicate collarbone, lofty chest, slender waist, and straight long legs, standing there, he exuded grace, as if shrouded in mist, like a beauty seen through clouds.
