Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 736: Chapter 380: The Rest of Our Lives (Part 2)

”Hmm, that’s it.” Edward Foster also wiped his mouth with a napkin, ”That’s why we are all guessing who’ll have the chance to marry the Sheldon family’s little princess; it’s almost like marrying into royalty, hahaha!”

”So, Edward, don’t you want to try?” Lawrence Winters teased, ”Your descendants would be even cooler; you’re the heir of the Foster family, so the Sheldon family would have to take care of your heirs, hahaha!”

Edward Foster shook his head vigorously, ”No, no! I’m not a pushover. With the way the Sheldon family princess is, the man who can marry her probably hasn’t been born yet!”

”Tsk, tsk, Edward, that’s harsh. Are you cursing the Sheldon family princess to never get married?” Lawrence Winters chatted with Edward Foster about the Sheldon family gossip while unknowingly eating another piece of cream cake.

...

After work in the afternoon, Lawrence Winters drove Nick Zeller’s Grand Cherokee home, feeling very excited.

She knew her mom, master, and the old Daoist, along with Kenneth Osborne, would be preparing for her birthday, but she wasn’t sure what it would be.

Kenneth Osborne had already given her a bank card, but what about everyone else?

Lawrence Winters really enjoyed celebrating her birthday.

She quickly drove back to the community, parked the car in the parking lot below her building.

Humming a tune, she took the elevator upstairs and returned to the living room to find the house was decorated in bright red, more like a wedding celebration than a birthday party.

A giant heart-shaped sea of flowers made of roses adorned the hallway wall.

She was a bit speechless, thinking that it was the old Daoist’s aesthetics from his seventies.

But when she saw the old Daoist in a red-bordered Taoist robe, sitting grandly on the sofa, and Nick Zeller wearing a very fitting black suit with a little red note stuck on his left chest, her eye twitched lightly.

Kenneth Osborne came out from his room, also wearing a suit.

His appearance was extraordinarily handsome, and dressed formally, he exuded an elite aura.

Lawrence Winters asked in surprise, ”...What are you all up to? I mean, you do remember it’s my birthday today, right?”

Are they going to take this opportunity to hold a wedding feast?

She seriously refused!

Though she did not want an extravagant wedding, simply having a casual meal at home was out of the question!

Kenneth Osborne smiled and said, ”Quickly go change your outfit; we’re going to be flower girls for your mom and Uncle Nick later.”

Lawrence Winters: ”!!!”

She turned her head to look at the old Daoist on the sofa, ”Grandmaster, what is going on here?!”

The old Daoist laughed heartily, saying, ”How about it? Is this birthday gift quite the surprise?”

”Come, check out the birthday gift we’re giving you this year. — A dad!” The old Daoist pointed at Nick Zeller and laughed.

Lawrence Winters almost fell to her knees.

What kind of birthday gift is this?!

Aren’t they teaming up to prank her?!

”What’s wrong? Don’t you like it?” The old Daoist stroked his recently grown goatee, pretending to ponder.

Lawrence Winters was already thinking ’WTF’ in her heart, but still smiling she said, ”It’s not that I don’t like it, but are you guys serious?”

She couldn’t quite believe it.

Nick Zeller, slightly nervous, looked at her, and when he saw she wasn’t upset, he awkwardly scratched the back of his head and said, ”...Well, I did go out with your mom to get the certificate today.”

It turned out to be true!

Lawrence Winter’s mood soared.

She rushed over, holding onto Nick Zeller’s arm, excitedly saying, ”Did you really get the certificate?! Does that mean you’re officially my dad now?”

”Yes.” Nick Zeller nodded seriously.

”Dad!” Lawrence Winters called out crisply and brightly.

”Ah! Good girl!” Nick Zeller took out a thick red envelope and handed it to Lawrence Winters, ”Here’s a token for calling me dad.”

Lawrence Winters quickly turned to gesture for Kenneth Osborne, ”Kenneth, come here! Call him dad and get a red envelope!”

Kenneth Osborne: ”...”

Thank you very much, could you forget him for a moment?

Didn’t you see the old Daoist secretly recording video with his phone?

Although Kenneth Osborne silently complained, he still walked over slowly, stood by Lawrence Winters, and quietly called out, ”...Father-in-law.”

”Good, good, Kenneth should be with our Lawrence for a lifetime,” Nick Zeller said emotionally, almost crying, and handed Kenneth Osborne a thick red envelope.

Lawrence Winters grinned and called out ”Dad!” once more.

Nick Zeller understood her intent, chuckling as he pulled out another red envelope and handed it to her, saying, ”One red envelope for each call, up to five.”

Lawrence Winters: ”Ugh, I thought there was no upper limit!”

She called ”Dad” five more times and received five thick red envelopes.

Kenneth Osborne could no longer stand it and urged her to go change.

Lawrence Winters quickly took her bag and returned to her bedroom.

A cherry blossom pink puff-sleeve princess dress lay on the bed.

She hadn’t worn such a childish dress in years, but it didn’t look bad once she put it on.

She let her hair down, her black locks cascading down her back, the princess dress was tightly cinched at the waist, accentuating her graceful figure like a medieval foreign princess.

Lawrence Winters walked out of her bedroom, and Kenneth Osborne handed her a flower basket.

The basket was filled with red roses, and a captivating fragrance lingered around her nose.

At the end of the living room hallway, Gabrielle Winters stood dressed in a red vintage-style gown.

Her head and body adorned with gold accessories, not many but dazzling, evidently brand new.

Then the background music in the living room suddenly changed.

Amidst a flowing melody, a slightly gritty male voice began to sing.

”Searching for the sun where there’s no wind, being the warmth where you’re cold.

Amidst the bustle of life, you’re always too naive.

For the rest of my life, I only want you.

For the rest of our lives, you are the wind and snow.

You are the calm, the poverty too.

You are the glory, the warmth in the heart.

Where the gaze falls, it is also you.”

Lawrence Winters hadn’t expected to hear this song ”For the Rest of Our Lives” at her mom and master’s wedding.

Gabrielle Winters’ tears uncontrollably flowed.

But she didn’t cry; she laughed with tears glistening on her face.

She held her beloved roses, step by step, walking towards the man who had waited for nearly a lifetime.
