Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 719: Chapter 373: Says No, but Her Body Is Honest (Third Update, Please Vote for Monthly Ticket)

The door to the CEO’s office opened, startling the secretary who was standing guard at the entrance.

Turning back to see the people inside coming out, chatting and laughing, it was nothing like the melodramatic showdown between two women he had imagined.

Could he have been mistaken?

However, the secretary astutely noticed that Spring Spencer had changed her hairstyle...

He scratched his head, stepped aside, and smiled as he said, ”Ms. Spencer, Mr. Osborne, Ms. Winters, where are you headed?”

Spring Spencer walked in front, smiling as she said, ”We are going to the meeting room of the branch company across the street. Your Mr. Osborne will be going too. If anything urgent comes up, you should handle it, prioritize tasks, and notify Mr. Osborne immediately if it’s important. For less critical matters, you can delay them.”

She spoke amiably, like she was directing a subordinate in her own company.

Yet the secretary was obedient to her, nodding and bowing repeatedly.

Lawrence Winters watched, wishing she could snort disdainfully through her nose.

But considering her earlier outburst already lost against Spring Spencer’s poised demeanor, she refrained from snorting, or even rolling her eyes, and instead smiled asking the secretary, ”...How many years did you work before joining Far Promise?”

The secretary was taken aback, thinking to himself, if I were an inexperienced novice, could I serve as the CEO’s secretary?

The company might be newly founded, but its employees aren’t necessarily inexperienced.

The secretary quickly smiled and said, ”...I have ten years of experience. AI Vision Promise is my second company. Previously, I worked as an executive assistant at a listed company.”

He switched to AI Vision Promise because he saw a promising future for the company.

”Oh, I see.” Lawrence Winters stopped there, not continuing further.

But both Spring Spencer and the secretary understood her underlying sarcasm, implying Spring Spencer’s advice was unnecessary and redundant.

Spring Spencer only smiled without speaking, and the secretary, being experienced, wasn’t fazed by Lawrence Winters’ mild provocations.

He mediated by saying, ”Although I have many years of experience, each company’s situation is different. Mr. Osborne is very different from the executives I’ve served before. And Ms. Spencer’s understanding of Mr. Osborne’s work style is very beneficial to me. If Ms. Winters visits frequently, I hope she could also guide me, so I can better serve Mr. Osborne and the company.”

He was indeed capable, addressing everyone without offending either side.

However, he shouldn’t have mentioned ”Ms. Spencer understands Mr. Osborne’s work style better.”

Lawrence Winters silently noted down the secretary’s name, planning to sway Kenneth Osborne with pillow talk and have the secretary replaced.

Of course, before replacing the secretary, she needed to separate Spring Spencer from Kenneth Osborne.

No need for the butcher? Eat the pig with hair instead?

Similarly, without Spring Spencer, could they not run the company?

By this point, Lawrence Winters couldn’t objectively assess the situation.

She herself was unaware that when making this decision, she mixed in ”romantic feelings”—something she never would have before.

Kenneth Osborne stood beside Lawrence Winters, without much expression on his face, the handsome visage now exuding an authoritative aura.

While not overwhelming, it added a cold edge to his already ethereal beauty, giving the impression of an immortal descended to the mortal realm.

The three of them arrived at the large meeting room of the branch company across the street.

Director Jiang of the special effects company suddenly saw Lawrence Winters, immediately feeling a sense of dread.

He stood up awkwardly, ”Mr. Osborne, Ms. Spencer, Manager Winters, you’ve arrived.”

Kenneth Osborne sat down, not wanting to waste time on anything else, directly saying, ”Play the edited sample, especially the five-minute version of the main leads’ confession. Play the one you produced.”

”Alright, I’ll play it now.” Director Jiang turned off the lights in the meeting room, started the player, and projected it onto the large screen on the wall.

This scene is the one revised by the director after watching the segment produced by Lawrence Winters.

The pristine snow-capped mountains, the male lead like an immortal, and the stunning female lead express their feelings under the tree.

Glistening alongside them is a azure lake.

A gentle breeze blows, and a seed falls from the tree, landing in the lake, soon growing and blossoming into a lavender flower.

The female lead, delighted, asks the male lead to pick the flower for her.
