Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 708: Chapter 367: The Grand Soiree (First Update, Requesting Recommendation Tickets)

Mrs. Foster’s eyes brightened, and she clapped her hands, saying, ”Even prettier than I imagined! Lawrence, this dress is simply tailor-made for you!”

”Thank you, Mrs. Foster.” Lawrence Winters nodded with a smile, ”I really like it too.”

After changing their clothes, the two went together to the dining hall.

The decorations here were completely European style, with white embossed columns and little angels with wings standing on top holding bows and arrows.

Monet’s Water Lilies hung on the entrance wall, creating a serene and peaceful atmosphere.

No matter how furious someone was, facing such a painting, all anger could dissipate instantly.

In a corner of the hall, there stood an antique-style grand piano. Someone was sitting there playing it. The sound was not loud but melodious, like flowing water, serving as perfect background music.

A long dining table was placed at the center of the hall with plush velvet sofas against the walls.

Mrs. Foster, leading Lawrence Winters, greeted familiar ladies along the way.

A waiter dressed in uniform with a small bow tie led them to seats near the head of the table.

There, a few people were already seated, chatting softly.

As Mrs. Foster arrived, a very graceful and charming middle-aged woman sitting ahead smiled and waved to her, ”Fiona, you’ve arrived?”

Lawrence Winters knew Fiona was Mrs. Foster’s name.

Mrs. Foster smiled and sat in the lower seat of the woman, saying, ”Shuhua, when did you return to the country? I heard you had gone abroad for an art exhibition not long ago?”

”I just returned not long ago. Madam Sheng invited me to this gathering, so I came.”

Madam Sheng was the wife of the capital boss Sheng, appearing to be in her forties, but Lawrence Winters knew she was over sixty, well-preserved.

Madam Sheng sat at the head, talking to a young woman on the other side.

The girl wore a LV off-shoulder evening gown, her skin was very fair, but her looks were merely pleasant.

Mrs. Foster discreetly introduced Lawrence Winters, saying to the woman who spoke with her earlier, ”Shuhua, this is Lawrence, my young friend and an executive at our NewHuman Entertainment Company.”

Lawrence Winters felt her face flush; her position didn’t exactly count as an executive...

But since Mrs. Foster was raising her up, there was no way to undermine her intent.

Mrs. Foster then said to Lawrence Winters, ”Lawrence, this is Mrs. Shen, the wife of the current president of the Sheldon Consortium.”

Lawrence Winters was slightly taken aback, Sheldon Consortium?

Wasn’t it the top-ranked Sheldon?

But wasn’t the president’s wife supposed to be Autumn Stetford?

While she pondered this, Mrs. Foster added with a laugh, ”Shuhua, where is your sister-in-law? Isn’t she coming today?”

Mrs. Shen smiled, saying, ”My sister-in-law said she’d come, but might have been delayed. My eldest brother is taking Betty abroad for vacation, and she’s busy packing for them.”

Lawrence Winters understood.

Mrs. Foster also said, ”Chairman Shen really dotes on his daughter.”

So, Aiden Sheldon was the chairman of the Sheldon Consortium, while his brother was the president.

Autumn Stetford was the sister-in-law, and the woman named Shuhua was the sister-in-law as well.

Mrs. Foster then introduced Lawrence Winters to Madam Sheng, ”Madam Sheng, you look really well. This is Lawrence, I brought her to join the fun today.”

”Good? What’s good about me? I’m an old lady, really? Where’s good? You’re the one who knows how to talk, Fiona!” Madam Sheng laughed heartily, beckoning Lawrence Winters to sit beside her, ”Today you’re the only one I don’t know, but after the meal, we’ll be acquainted.”

Lawrence Winters smiled at Madam Sheng, ”Hello, Madam Sheng, I see your forehead is reddish with a hint of indigo, your lower eyes are full and slightly reddish, which indicates a joyous occasion of adding to your family!”

Madam Sheng was surprised, ”Wow? You can read faces too?”

”I have a bit of interest in face divination, just self-taught.” Lawrence Winters modestly replied. She could tell this Madam Sheng, although slightly furrowed her brows, even while smiling, there was a trace of unease in her eyes.

As if worried about something.

But looking at her forehead and child palace, seems to be a joyous occasion.

So she boldly speculated that the Sheng family would soon expand.

After Lawrence Winters finished speaking, Mrs. Foster was also surprised and laughed, ”Wow? Lawrence, how did you know Madam Sheng’s family would grow? Yes, Madam Sheng, isn’t your daughter-in-law pregnant?”

”Aye, I’ve been worried! The due date was over a week ago with no signs yet, no idea how long it’ll be delayed.” Madam Sheng complained but had a good impression of Lawrence Winters.

Because she believed in auspicious words, having a stranger say nice things at this time was good luck.

Madam Sheng pulled Lawrence Winters to sit beside her. The young girl on her other side looked at Lawrence Winters and laughed, ”Your name is Lawrence? You’re so beautiful.”

”Thank you, you’re very pretty too.” Lawrence Winters nodded slightly.

Mrs. Foster quickly said, ”This is Mrs. Shen’s daughter, Ruby Sheldon, we all call her Ayu.”

”Nice name.” Upon hearing this, Lawrence Winters knew she was paired with Ruby Sheldon.

But Ruby Sheldon looked a few years older than Ruby Sheldon.

Ruby Sheldon laughed and said, ”Are you with the Foster Clan’s NewHuman Corporation? Then Edward Foster is your boss?”

”Yes, young Foster is indeed very nice. What about you? Where are you working?” Lawrence Winters smoothly deflected the topic.

Ruby Sheldon spread her hands and winked at her, saying, ”Do I have another choice? Of course, I’m working at our family business...”

Seems like a funny girl, she seemed easier to get along with than Ruby Sheldon.

Lawrence Winters laughed and conversed with her.

Soon, more people filled the hall, elder ladies bringing young women to the gathering.

The young women brought along were daughters, daughters-in-law, and those like Lawrence Winters, ”young friends.”

Autumn Stetford soon arrived too, bringing along a young girl, with exceptionally stunning looks, comparable to Lawrence’s beauty.

However, due to Lawrence Winters practicing the Heavenly Master path, her beauty exuded a celestial aura.

While this young girl exuded worldly beauty, to the extreme, highly attractive.
