Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 744: Chapter 384: An Aristocratic Family with Heritage (First Update)

Even Mrs. Foster, an experienced lady from a prestigious family, was stunned for a while before snapping out of it and laughing, ”Didn’t I say so? This dress is just perfect for our Lawrence. Alright, let’s get this one.”

The store clerks and manager all came out, treating Lawrence Winters and Mrs. Foster with great respect.

When they finally went to check out, Lawrence Winters noticed that the dress was priced in the four digits, much cheaper than the other evening gowns, which made her even happier.

She was afraid of getting another custom-made piece in the five or six digits, which would mean owing even more to fulfill a favor.

Mrs. Foster, seeing the price, also laughed and said, ”Is it because this dress hasn’t sold for a long time that it’s discounted?”

”Mrs. Foster knows her stuff, that’s exactly it.” The manager of the Dior flagship store said a bit embarrassedly, ”To be honest, this dress has been here for a while without selling, so it’s half price now.”

Lawrence Winters quickly said, ”Let me pay, I want to experience the joy of shopping at a luxury brand store.”

She playfully winked at Mrs. Foster.

Since the dress wasn’t expensive, Mrs. Foster didn’t argue with her.

After Lawrence Winters paid, she felt refreshed, looking even more vibrant than when she entered the store.

After buying the dress, Mrs. Foster took Lawrence Winters to a familiar beauty salon to get her hair done and a light makeup application.

Upon leaving the beauty salon, Lawrence Winters saw Edward Foster standing by the door of Mrs. Foster’s extended Rolls-Royce Phantom, dressed in a tailored tailcoat, looking elegant.

”The two beautiful ladies are finally out. Please—!” He smiled as he opened the car door, inviting Lawrence Winters and Mrs. Foster inside, then got in himself.

There was actually another person inside the car, Edward Foster’s father, also Mrs. Foster’s husband and the CEO of the Foster Clan, Gabriel Foster.

He reached out to Mrs. Foster, smiling, ”Sit over here with me.”

Mrs. Foster took his hand, sat beside him, and started chatting with a smile.

Lawrence Winters sat next to Mrs. Foster, near the car door, with Edward Foster sitting across from the three of them, blinking at her.

Lawrence Winters felt a bit uncomfortable.

They are a family, and she was squeezed in, which felt awkward.

But Mrs. Foster quickly noticed her mood, laughing, ”Later, when we get to the Sheldon Family’s Wells Residence Garden, Edward will accompany his father elsewhere. Where we’re going, the men can’t go. We’ll only meet up again at dinner.”

Lawrence Winters breathed a sigh of relief and laughed, ”The Sheldon Family really has a grand setup, like something from ancient times...”

”Isn’t it? I said the same.” Mrs. Foster agreed deeply, ”Their Wells Residence Garden even has a second gate. In ancient times, women didn’t go beyond the courtyard, right?”

”It’s said that prestigious families with history are like this...” Edward Foster joked, ”Dad, Mom, our family’s legacy is slightly lacking.”

”With you acting like a monkey, even if our family had legacy, you’d tear it down!” Gabriel Foster said with feigned annoyance.

”Dad, give me some face in front of my subordinate, will you? I am the boss!” Edward Foster puffed up his chest.

Mrs. Foster covered her mouth and laughed, ”Yes, Gabriel, give our Edward some face...”

Gabriel Foster was amused by their banter, nodded, and still praised, ”Edward’s NewHuman Corporation has been losing money for years, but this year finally had a hit TV series. The losses from previous years have finally been recovered.”

Edward Foster snorted, ”Dad, you might as well say nothing. Isn’t that how the film industry works? Most lose, some win. But as long as there’s one big hit, the previous losses can be recovered.”

”Mm, it’s better to proceed cautiously. After all, your company needs to keep running, and our conglomerate won’t be funding you further. You’ll have to rely on yourself from now on.” Gabriel Foster said while looking down at an iPad, seemingly reviewing a project plan.

Lawrence Winters listened curiously and asked quietly, ”...Edward, have you always been running at a loss?”

Edward Foster deliberately put on a long face, ”Lawrence, don’t hit where it hurts. Asking like that makes it easy for me to cut your year-end bonus.”

”...Then let’s pretend I didn’t say anything. Young Master Edward, knowledgeable and proficient, with great vision, may fortune roll your way.” Lawrence Winters clasped her hands in mock reverence, shamelessly flattered without blinking.

”That’s more like it. Keep it up, and your year-end bonus could double.” Edward Foster struck a majestic pose, slightly lifted his head, and snorted through his nose.

Lawrence Winters laughed, covering her mouth.

Gabriel Foster and Mrs. Foster exchanged a glance, both revealing an understanding smile.
