Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 647: Chapter 340: Black Swan Incident (Second Update)

Nick Zeller, Lawrence Winters, and Kenneth Osborne’s backgrounds are clear to them, so now they just need to find out who ”Brandon” really is.

Francis Johnson nodded, ”I’ll check right away.”

He has a special data system, if he wants to check, he can dig up every trace of the person’s life since birth.

Soon, an hour later, Francis Johnson sent Christopher Mason the life trajectory of ”Brandon”.

Just an ordinary person, born into a regular small-town family in the Southern Region, dropped out of school as a teenager, went into the mountains to learn from a master, and indeed acquired some skills.

He once made quite a name for himself in the Geomantic World, until in recent years Nick Zeller emerged and Brandon began his decline.

He did poorly, until recently when a large sum of money suddenly appeared in his bank account, then he came to Capital City.

A few days after arriving in Capital City, he was lying in a hospital with his left calf shattered and a heavy blow to the back of his head.

Christopher Mason looked at the report and said to Francis Johnson, ”It seems something happened after he came to Capital City, but before he got injured. Do you have any other information?”

Francis Johnson was focusing on investigating what happened after ”Brandon” arrived in Capital City.

He replied, ”After returning to Capital City, Brandon acted very cautiously, and it seems someone is helping him erase traces, so it takes a bit more time.”

Christopher Mason chuckled, leaned back in his chair, and said leisurely, ”But before coming to Capital City, there was no one helping him erase traces, which shows he’s just a mere pawn, a small role.”

If he was truly important, Francis Johnson wouldn’t have been able to unearth his past so quickly.

Francis Johnson also laughed, ”Mr. Mason is right, should I continue investigating?”

”Go ahead, Professor Ian is curious,” Christopher Mason calmly replied, ”Do as you see fit. If it’s not something important, don’t contact me again.”

”Understood, Mr. Mason.” Francis Johnson quickly cut the connection.

He spent two whole days investigating before finding out what ”Brandon” did after he came from the Southern Region to Capital City.

Involved in all this was a person he felt he had to report to Christopher Mason.

”Mr. Mason, I found evidence that Brandon injured Nick Zeller, and then was injured by Nick Zeller’s niece, Lawrence Winters.”

”Afterwards, Brandon was sent to the hospital, but the Stetford Family stepped in, saying it was a conflict among their subordinates, without mentioning Lawrence Winters.”

”Currently, Nick Zeller hasn’t woken up, and the three people beaten by Lawrence are still unconscious, so no one is challenging this narrative for now.”

As for the previously arrogant Boss Ouyang, even Francis Johnson was too lazy to deal with him and directly sent the related information to local police.

Christopher Mason raised his eyebrows unexpectedly, ”The Stetford Family extends their reach like that? They need a wake-up call.”

A family that exerts influence abroad must still obey domestic laws when back in the country.

After saying these words, Christopher Mason felt something was off and furrowed his brows, ”Wait, you said Nick Zeller’s injuries were caused by Brandon.”

”And Brandon’s injuries were caused by Lawrence Winters.”

”But Nick Zeller and Brandon’s injury patterns and severity are actually identical? Could it be a mix-up in the data? I noticed in your report that both Nick Zeller and Brandon stayed in the same hospital.”

In Christopher Mason’s view, if Brandon’s injuries were truly caused by Lawrence Winters, it couldn’t possibly be exactly the same as the injuries Brandon inflicted on Nick Zeller.

Hence he believed it’s highly likely a data upload error.

Francis Johnson was surprisingly convinced, ”It’s possible as well. What should be done? Should we report to Professor Ian?”

Christopher Mason thought for three minutes, then said, ”Tell him, but also inform him that there is a high probability of data misupload.”

This suggests Nick Zeller’s data might have been uploaded to Brandon’s account.

Of course, it might also be that Brandon’s data overwrote Nick Zeller’s previous data.

This kind of human error is far more likely than a genuine ”black swan event.”

Don’t let everyone be busy only to find out the initial data was wrong in the end.

Francis Johnson understood, ”I’ll notify him.”

That afternoon, Francis Johnson personally went to see Ian Lothrop and relayed these events exactly as they happened, also showcasing the evidence.

Ian Lothrop wasn’t interested in the evidence, nor in whether it was legal.

He was only interested in whether the two sets of data were real or mixed up.

Moreover, if it was real, how could Lawrence Winters have inflicted exactly the same injuries on Brandon as those Nick Zeller sustained?

”This girl is impressive! I felt last time that she was extraordinary! I was right! I knew it had to be her!” Ian Lothrop replied cheerfully.

Francis Johnson rubbed his forehead, feeling a bit headache, saying, ”Professor Lothrop, you better confirm whether the injuries of these two are truly identical data, what if they aren’t?”

Like Christopher Mason, Francis Johnson also didn’t believe Lawrence Winters had the capability.

”I understand. I will personally examine their injuries.” Ian Lothrop said smilingly, ”This gives Brandon quite the advantage. To receive treatment from me is his fortune from a past life.”

...

At the same time, police in Capital City suddenly mobilized, armed with arrest warrants from the court, and rounded up several previously hidden big bosses of the underworld.

Boss Ouyang and his gang, no doubt, those who attacked Nick Zeller and Gabrielle Winters that night, from the top down, from Ouyang to the minions, couldn’t escape.

Also, those big shots and followers who went to the Capital City suburbs with Lucas Harlow to handle matters for Lawrence Winters were all taken to the precinct.

At this stage, anyone observant could understand what was happening.

Edward Foster’s subordinates said nervously to him: ”Mr. Foster, there’s trouble. That day, all the big shot followers Mr. Harlow brought to pick someone up were taken to the station by the police. Could it be that day’s incident has been discovered?”

Edward Foster was working in his office when he received the call and paused, ”Really? Is it a coincidence?”

He took a sip of coffee and opened his phone’s social media to check the news, only to find shocking gossip.

Trending first: #Lucas Harlow, who just skyrocketed to fame with NewHuman Entertainment Ltd., has been taken away by police for investigation!# (Trending)!

Edward Foster almost spat his coffee onto the phone.

”What’s going on?! What the hell is going on?! Where’s the PR department!” Edward Foster jumped up in a rage, with veins popping at his temple.

This is like munching on gossip and it turns out to be homegrown!
