Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 614: Chapter 329: Emerging Out of Nowhere (Third Update)

With these special effects, watching the confession scene between the male and female leads becomes much more enjoyable.

Lucas Harlow’s superb acting inspired the female lead to give an extraordinary performance.

The ”senior brother” and ”junior sister” who often regrettably couldn’t pair up in many books, can finally be together this time.

Just as everyone was deeply moved, a gentle breeze blew by.

The mirror-like surface of the Green Jade Mirror ripple, shattering the reflection of the male and female leads.

Just then, a seed dropped from a large tree and quickly sank into the lake.

The water rippled, shimmering, and soon a lilac-colored flower bloomed from the water.

The flower looked very simple and soft, with only four tender petals that resembled clover but were actually a flower.

The flower surfaced, and before it could fully bloom, a small bee flew from the tree and landed on the flower.

It extended its proboscis and sucked the nectar dry.

In just a second, the flower wilted.

The blooming and withering of a flower is a cycle, but in the ever-changing world, it is just a moment.

Even as everyone’s eyes lingered on the withering lilac petals, the bee had already flown above the heads of the male and female leads.

Their attention was also drawn to the fleeting bloom and wither of the lilac flower, not wary of the honey-seeking bee.

As the bee flew away from the scene, a tiny seed fell from the sky.

In the sky, the purple spot gradually deepened, and as the seed fell onto the male lead’s head, entering his sea of consciousness, there was even a thunderclap!

The Demon Seed invaded like this, yet the male and female leads were completely unaware.

The scene paused there, and the four people in the meeting room were completely stunned.

After a while, the director regained his composure and excitedly said, ”This is good! This effect is fucking awesome!”

”But I want to change the plot a bit! I don’t like that bee! Just like Miss Lawrence said earlier, it’s too abrupt! It’s pointless!”

The director continued, ”It would be better if the female lead wanted that flower blooming in the lake, and then the male lead went to pick it for her!”

”As he picks the flower, the Demon Seed can take the opportunity to enter the male lead’s palm! This way, it is still the female lead who personally plants the Demon Seed on the male lead!”

Lawrence Winters thought about it, felt that the director was indeed a director, and realized that this plot was indeed better than her previous idea. She nodded in agreement, saying, ”I also think the director is right, maybe we should change it?”

Edward Foster, maintaining an impassive expression, said, ”I need to ask the people making the special effects how long it would take to make such a change.”

The director quickly said, ”No problem, I can ask them to come back and reshoot this scene.”

Edward Foster saw that Lawrence Winters was indifferent, smiled, and said, ”No rush, let’s consider this after the bidding meeting ends.”

The director snapped back to reality, smiled awkwardly, already considering how to use this entire set of special effects in the final cut.

He thought for a moment and asked, ”Mr. Edward, was this special effect done by a friend of yours?”

If it was Edward Foster’s friend, he would have to change his approach.

Edward Foster shook his head, ”No, but I know this company. They wanted to bid, so I sent this to them.”

The director nodded, ”I see... Actually, I wanted to say, could we buy this segment? But if you’re not familiar with this company, maybe we shouldn’t use it.”

Lawrence Winters was a bit taken aback and asked, ”Why? Didn’t they do well?”

The director continued nodding, ”Indeed, it’s done very well; this effect is no worse than those done by foreign companies like Micro Tower. Plus, in terms of our domestic culture, this production is more in line with our cultural atmosphere, resulting in a classically elegant visual that’s very reminiscent of Xianxia.”

”Unlike those foreign companies, whose work often has a fantasy feel, not the classical Xianxia style.”

”Many of our cultural traditions are ingrained, which foreigners don’t understand and can’t learn.”

Lawrence Winters didn’t expect such high praise from the director, her face blushing with delight as she shyly replied, ”...Really? Is it really that good? Is it really that beautiful?”

”Yes, this quality is indeed top-notch, even better than what I imagined would be done by Micro Tower, I must admit. But...” The director shifted his tone, ”a company that can produce such good effects must be extremely expensive.”

”And I know these domestic special effects companies. They put all their effort into making these demo pieces for bidding, and once they win the bid, the quality of the effects drops significantly.”

”Because time is hard to come by, they work too slowly to be meticulous, so only the important scenes are done well, and the rest is just cobbled together.”

The director suggested again to Edward Foster, ”Mr. Edward, so I suggest that we buy this segment. It shouldn’t cost much. This segment is the highlight, and having this one scene sets this entire domestic Xianxia drama apart from others.”

”For the remaining post-production effects, we can find a cheaper yet technically proficient company, balancing the budget with quality. What do you think?”

Lawrence Winters pondered the director’s words. She didn’t know what Edward Foster thought, but if it wasn’t for Kenneth Osborne making her demo piece, Lawrence Winters might also be persuaded by the director!

She couldn’t help but glance at Edward Foster.

Edward Foster, maintaining his composure, smiled and said, ”That makes sense. I’ll think about it.”

He looked at his watch, ”It’s already 6:45. You guys get ready and see if the people from those three companies have arrived. I’ll ask the company that sent me the demo if they want to bid.”

Lawrence Winters’ eyes widened.

Returning to Edward Foster’s CEO office with him, Lawrence Winters anxiously asked, ”Mr. Edward, why did you say this was sent to you by someone else? Didn’t I present this?”

Edward Foster laughed and said, ”If you said you found someone to do it, you’ll never have a peaceful day at the company again.”

Lawrence Winters awkwardly smiled, thinking that when everyone finds out this was done by Kenneth Osborne, and Kenneth Osborne is her man, they will realize she snatched this bid from the director and producer.

And Edward Foster is just taking the bullet for her...

She pursed her lips and softly said, ”...Actually, this isn’t good. Everyone will eventually know. Mr. Edward, let me handle this.”

”How could they? If you don’t say, and I don’t say, who will know? Moreover, isn’t it your friend’s company? Just introduce them to me, and I’ll say it was someone I know?”

”Besides, I’m the boss. I can give this business to whoever I want, and they wouldn’t dare gossip about me. —Unless they don’t want their year-end bonus!”

Edward Foster made an effort to reassure Lawrence Winters.

”If you step forward, you’ll become everyone’s target. Remember, cutting off a person’s source of income is like murdering their parents! — So let me handle it, and they wouldn’t dare complain about me.”

Lawrence Winters felt even more embarrassed, closed her eyes, steeled herself, and said, ”Mr. Edward, this... this... this was actually done by my man’s company.”

Edward Foster looked as if he was slapped in the face, his expression stiffened, ”What? Your man? Which man of yours?”
