Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 615: Chapter 330: Let the Professionals Handle Professional Matters (First Update)

”Which man? I only have one man in total!”

Lawrence Winters was a bit speechless.

Although she and Kenneth Osborne had registered their marriage, she was too shy to call him ”husband.” Even though everyone called them that, they hadn’t had a wedding banquet yet, and she was still holding on to a bit of girlish modesty.

But since they were registered, she couldn’t call him her boyfriend or fiancé, so she had to use the ambiguous term ”my man” to refer to him.

Edward Foster’s reaction made her a little uncomfortable, as if she had dated many boyfriends!

”Little Foster, Kenneth and I grew up as childhood sweethearts. We were each other’s first love and we’ve registered our marriage, so you can’t go around saying things like I’ve had many boyfriends!” Lawrence Winters smiled as she corrected Edward Foster’s wording.

Edward Foster was filled with both envy and bitterness.

To be childhood sweethearts with the girl he loved and to marry her, Kenneth Osborne was really lucky!

He tried hard to suppress the sourness in his heart and asked in surprise, ”Is it Kenneth Osborne? Isn’t he working in artificial intelligence? How can he even do computer effects?”

”That’s where our Kenneth is amazing.” As soon as Lawrence Winters talked about Kenneth Osborne, she was filled with pride, ”Other programmers might specialize in one area, but my Kenneth has mastered everything like a top expert, able to connect everything seamlessly.”

She pointed at Edward Foster’s computer, ”Take that sample video, for instance. It’s from a scene modeling software developed by Kenneth’s company. It includes deep learning AI functions, so it can create effects both efficiently and quickly.”

She kept calling him ”my Kenneth,” making Edward Foster’s face turn green.

He regretted boasting earlier.

Given his temperament, if he had known Kenneth Osborne made it, even if it were better and cheaper than Micro Tower, he wouldn’t have considered it.

Under no circumstances would he let a rival earn his money.

But he had already spoken those words in front of Lawrence Winters, and this project was indeed better than the previous ones. If he backed out now, Lawrence Winters might understand his true feelings.

What would she do then?

Edward Foster thought she might just resign on the spot.

Considering the potential outcome, Edward Foster pursed his lips and smiled, ”Is that so? Can you have Mr. Osborne come and bid for the project?”

”He’s still working overtime, I can handle the bidding.” Lawrence Winters blinked, ”Is that not okay? Although I’m Archer’s agent, I’m not involved in the investment, shooting, or operation of this film.”

Film production companies are organized per project, so Lawrence Winters was indeed not considered an ”insider” on this film.

Edward Foster thought for a moment and saw that Lawrence Winters was eager to have Kenneth Osborne’s company win the bid.

Moreover, he had just told the director, producer, and technical director that he had facilitated the connection. If Lawrence Winters represented Kenneth Osborne in the bidding, it would really be hard to explain.

He’d also have shielded Lawrence Winters for nothing.

So he decided to be a good person to the end.

”How about this, I’ll find someone to bid on behalf of Mr. Osborne.” Edward Foster quickly changed his tune with a grin, ”After all, Mr. Osborne is a big boss. Even if they want to bid, the big boss himself doesn’t need to appear.”

This was indeed true. Even the highest-ranking representatives sent by other companies to bid were at most directors, never the big bosses, unless it was a very small company where the boss is personally trying to win business.

”Ah? Is that really okay?” Lawrence Winters seemed uncertain.

”If the bid is successful, you just take the contract back for Mr. Osborne to sign, that should be fine, right?” Edward Foster said as he took out his phone and called towards his family estate.

He couldn’t ask subordinates from the company to avoid being exposed in front of the director and producer, so he called to borrow a couple of people from his mom.

His mom had several professionals around her that the company’s people were unfamiliar with.

Edward Foster’s mother received his call and was very curious but didn’t ask much, laughing as she said, ”Sure, I’ll have Aunt Lan bring a couple of people to help your friend bid. She usually helps your grandfather with bidding tasks outside, and neither the Foster Consortium nor the people from your company have seen her.”

”Thanks, Mom!” Edward Foster cheered up and his tone sweetened.

Lawrence Winters was still somewhat uneasy beside him, whispering, ”Little Foster, is this really okay?”

Edward Foster’s mom sensitively heard a woman’s voice speaking, although it was low, it was clear the voice was lovely, with a lilting, melodic quality, which instantly intrigued her.
