Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 619: Chapter 331: True Love Cannot Be Hidden (Second Update)_3

Unexpectedly, his mom brought everyone along today.

”Come on, have some, you won’t gain weight.” Mrs. Foster warmly greeted everyone, especially Lawrence Winters.

Seeing Edward Foster’s uneasy effort to clear up his expression and actions, she knew without a doubt that Lawrence was the girl her son liked.

She had a good impression of Lawrence Winters and liked her since the first time they met.

Now that she knew her son also liked this girl, she was even more determined to help him.

She was aware that good girls these days have higher aspirations and won’t just pounce on you because you’re from a wealthy family.

Of course, there are many who do pounce, but Mrs. Foster didn’t think much of them.

So she valued those who didn’t pounce even more.

And she knew that these good girls wouldn’t lower their standards just because of a wealthy family, because they genuinely want a good life.

In daily life, money alone isn’t enough.

If there’s a troublesome mother-in-law, or like some wealthy families, a little princess who demands the family’s focus and becomes the center of attention, it’s exhausting.

Mrs. Foster congenially took a small dish with a glutinous rice date and a mango glutinous rice dumpling, placed it in front of Lawrence, and said, ”Is it Miss Winters? These two pastries are suitable for young ladies and won’t make you fat.”

Lawrence happened to have glanced at these two pastries earlier, and her good impression of the Foster family grew.

They were truly observant and perceptive.

She smiled as she took the dish and said, ”Thank you, Mrs. Foster, these pastries look delicious.”

”As long as you like them, you don’t need to be so polite, just call me Auntie.” Mrs. Foster smiled warmly, catching a glimpse of the engagement ring on Lawrence’s hand, her mouth twitching slightly.

Is she engaged already?

Her silly son clearly only mentioned having a boyfriend...

This needs to be hastened; what if she gets married, what’ll happen to her silly son?

...

The three from Four Seasons Corporation returned to their company, seeing their big boss’s office light still on.

The group exchanged glances, then pushed Director Hong to see the boss.

This big boss was new, only buying all the company’s shares two months ago. She appeared kind, but came from a wealthy family, and despite her young age, had faced many more storms than they had.

Director Hong was quite uneasy.

The project she had been bridging was meant to impress the new boss, but in the end, it was messed up.

But even if it was messed up, an explanation was necessary.

Director Hong walked to the office door and knocked.

”Come in, the door’s not locked,” a gentle female voice came from inside.

Director Hong walked in awkwardly, saying, ”President Spencer.”

The woman working behind the desk lifted her head, revealing Spring Spencer, the eldest Miss of the Spencer Family.

She looked at Director Hong’s expression, a bit surprised, ”Did you guys fail the bid?”

Director Hong nodded, blushing, ”An unexpected competitor emerged, their technology is indeed good, much better than ours. But they’re too arrogant, claiming they can complete it in two weeks, which is forty episodes! It could even be edited into eighty episodes!”

This Four Seasons Company was one of Spring Spencer’s investments; she generally didn’t interfere with the main members’ work unless a major decision was needed for her direction.

This time, during the bid for NewHuman Corporation’s project, Director Hong had acted like it was a sure thing, yet it had slipped through her fingers.

Spring Spencer pointed to the chair in front of the sofa, ”Please sit, Director Hong, and tell me what happened.”

Director Hong sat down and spoke incessantly, ”Our company is undoubtedly top in the domestic industry, but the bidder today was a company we’ve never heard of, called AI Vision Promise! I checked them out; they’re not focused on special effects mainly, but rather artificial intelligence!”

”Nowadays, any Tom, Dick, or Harry can come into the film industry for a piece of the action! Hmph!”

Spring Spencer was a bit surprised, ”AI Vision Promise?”

It’s not the AI Vision Promise she knows, is it?

She took the materials Director Hong handed over and looked through them.

Indeed, it was the AI Vision Promise she knew.

Spring Spencer said calmly, ”AI Vision Promise is a top domestic artificial intelligence company, not some Tom, Dick, or Harry you mentioned.”

Director Hong paused, ”Really? Then why are they doing special effects? Is such a thing needed for artificial intelligence?”

”That, I wouldn’t know.” Spring Spencer laughed, ”I guess, could it be that what they’ve accomplished is just too amazing, so your internal connections couldn’t make a difference?”

Director Hong’s face reddened further, murmuring, ”...The quality’s indeed impressive, but if we take our time and work on it for months, we could surely achieve that kind of effect.”

”How long did they spend then?”

Director Hong fell silent.

The sample film given by NewHuman Corporation was sent a week ago. They’ve been working overtime this week, sleeping only two hours daily, with a group of more than ten people, just to get this five-minute sample completed.

The effect was far from satisfactory.

The other party took at most a week to achieve that effect, far surpassing their efficiency.

Spring Spencer smiled again, glanced at the tender and those words, and gestured toward Director Hong, ”Go back first; I’ll think about what we should do.”

After Director Hong left, Spring Spencer dialed Kenneth Osborne’s phone number.
