Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 609: Chapter 327: Getting Rich Together (Second Update, Extended Chapter) (Part 2)

Mrs. Foster was analyzing intensely, and Edward Foster’s face turned green.

He glared at Mrs. Foster and shouted, ”Mom! Have you been reading too many detective novels?! Don’t dig into this matter anymore! If you scare her away, don’t expect to have grandkids!”

”Oh, is it that serious? All right, I won’t be curious then.” Mrs. Foster immediately restrained her smile and became serious, but there was still a playful glimmer in her eyes, ”...Is she smart and beautiful?”

”Of course, smart and beautiful!” Edward Foster accidentally let slip another word thanks to his mom.

Finding no way out, he had to flee in panic.

He returned to his room to review the budget and remaining funds for the production, calculating how much needed to be sold to break even, and sighed about not being able to do this in the future.

Shooting a series with dozens of episodes but failing to sell it in time can really cause cash flow bottlenecks that could break the company.

Edward Foster also opened his laptop and wrote a memo reflecting on the company’s future direction in production.

When he finished, he noticed it was already two in the afternoon.

He only spent half an hour to take a shower and change into an outfit that looked stylish and handsome yet casual and understated, not making it obvious that he changed clothes specifically for a meeting.

Once he was ready, it was already two and a half.

Edward Foster grabbed his car keys and dashed out of the house to pick up Lawrence Winters.

Currently, Lawrence Winters wasn’t living in the big flat there; she forgot to mention that to Edward Foster.

When Edward Foster waited until three and called Lawrence Winters to ask her to come out, she replied annoyed, ”Oh, I’m not living over there. Okay, Edward, just tell me the name of the restaurant, and we’ll meet there.”

At this point, Edward Foster felt awkward asking for the address, so he said, ”Alright, let’s go to that gourmet building near our company. What do you feel like eating?”

Lawrence Winters thought for a moment, ”It doesn’t need to be that far, does it? Is the restaurant downstairs of the company open? If it’s open on weekends, let’s eat there, it’s closer.”

Edward Foster could tell that Lawrence Winters wasn’t in the mood for a fancy meal; she just wanted to find a place to satisfy her hunger.

He nodded, ”Sure, I’ll head over, when can you arrive?”

”Fifteen minutes, I’ll drive over.” Lawrence Winters then asked Kenneth Osborne for the car keys, ”Kenneth, I need to work overtime at the office, hold a meeting to discuss their technical comparison report, and also check out those post-production special effects companies chosen by the producer and director. I might come back late tonight, so don’t wait for me for dinner.”

Kenneth Osborne looked up from behind his computer, a bit reluctant: ”You’re going to work on weekends? Can’t it be a remote meeting at home?”

”Maybe in the future, but today we agreed to meet at the office. The representatives of those bidding post-production companies will be there too, I’d be losing out if I didn’t go.” Lawrence Winters went over, giggled while leaning on Kenneth’s back, and kissed him on the cheek, ”I’ll teach them a good lesson!”

Kenneth Osborne chuckled, ”Don’t force it; if they have their own plans, don’t worry. Anyway, I already have ideas in mind, and if they don’t want to use my system, I can look for other film production companies.”

”Blocking a person’s path to wealth is like killing their parents, take it easy, it’s not worth falling out with these folks; I don’t want them to resent you.”

Kenneth Osborne understood the unspoken aspects of company operations, thinking it through quite calmly.

As they say, dead fish are found in clear waters; he understood.

Besides, it wasn’t his company—if someone on their side wanted to play tricks, it was their loss.

Lawrence Winters didn’t agree; she put away her smile and said blandly, ”No, that’s not right. Don’t even mention whether your technology is the best, this film is tailor-made for Lucas Harlow’s fantasy martial arts film, if post-production isn’t done well, all efforts will be wasted.”

”It wouldn’t only harm Lucas Harlow’s reputation, but selling it for cheap would prevent me from getting my commission!”

”You know blocking someone’s wealth is like killing their parents! Now they’re blocking my wealth! Just watch, I won’t let them succeed!”

Lawrence Winters waved her fist and left like a gust of wind.

Kenneth Osborne squinted his eyes, feeling somewhat complicated inside.

If Lawrence Winters were doing it completely for him, he’d be euphoric.

Unfortunately, she had another purpose, half of which was for Lucas Harlow.

...

Lawrence Winters drove Kenneth Osborne’s Tesla to the Foster Building where Edward was working.

Edward Foster was already waiting for her in the restaurant on the ground floor.

The two didn’t waste time, hungry, they each ordered their favorite dishes and quickly started eating.

While dining, Edward Foster whispered to Lawrence Winters, ”Remember not to spill the beans... pretend you don’t know they’re ’cramming for exams,’ alright?”
