Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 644: Chapter 339: The World Is So Wonderful (Second Update)_2

”So you think it’s reasonable to hide things from me?” Kenneth Osborne’s face was livid, ”Nora, this is the third time! The last time your ’self-defense’ was already recorded at the police station. You used the ruse of self-harm, nearly cutting off your arm, to settle that matter. And now? What do you plan to do? Give yourself a concussion?”

”Do you think just because you give yourself a concussion this time, the police will believe you? Don’t take others for fools!”

Lawrence Winters tugged at the corner of her mouth, ”No need, in my plan, I should have already left by now.”

As she spoke, she picked up the iron ruler, went to the man she had knocked unconscious by the door, bent down, and put the iron ruler in his hand.

”See that? It’s an internal conflict! Internal conflict!”

Kenneth Osborne’s face was ashen, ”Internal conflict? If they wake up, they’re bound to tell the truth. Who will believe their internal conflict? And if they don’t wake up... Nora, do you know what you’re doing?”

Lawrence Winters raised an eyebrow, ”I know, I have control. This guy was hit on the back of the head by me, which will affect his memory, and he won’t remember the events before.”

”You think he won’t remember because you say so? Are you a doctor or an expert?” Kenneth Osborne was getting exasperated by Lawrence Winters’ stubbornness.

As the two argued, the door was suddenly pushed open.

Lucas Harlow, dressed in a black suit, hair slicked back neatly, stood ritualistically before them.

Lawrence Winters blinked, at first not recognizing who it was.

Lucas Harlow nodded at her and stepped aside.

A few imposing men followed him in, wearing the same uniform, full of presence.

They carried box-like medical kits and first checked the condition of the three people lying on the ground.

”Mr. Harlow, these three are not in immediate life-threatening danger; they still have a pulse and heartbeat.”

Lucas Harlow nodded, hands clasped behind his back, and said to Lawrence Winters and Kenneth Osborne, ”You two go first, leave this to me.”

Lawrence Winters was both excited and touched, looking at Lucas Harlow with eyes full of affectionate admiration, asking softly, ”...Is it too much trouble? Do you need me to do anything?”

”No need, you go first, I’ll take them to the hospital and keep in touch.” Lucas Harlow made a phone gesture to her.

Kenneth Osborne pursed his lips, grabbed Lawrence Winters’ hand, and quickly walked out of the room.

Inside and outside the courtyard, a group of men in black suits stood densely packed.

Edward Foster also had this many bodyguards once, but compared to this group, it felt like a motley crew meeting a formal army, not even on the same level.

Lawrence Winters’ heart tightened, knowing these were all Lucas Harlow’s people.

Edward Foster and his men had already gotten into their car.

Kenneth Osborne pulled Lawrence Winters into Edward Foster’s car.

Edward Foster instructed the driver to start the car, saying, ”Leaving this to Lucas is definitely not a problem, dealing with people like this, the Stetford Family is professional.”

Lawrence Winters already knew Lucas Harlow’s real name was Evan Stetford, so Edward Foster didn’t beat around the bush.

Lawrence Winters was also excited, taking off her mask and saying with surprise, ”Little Lucas has finally grown up. Did you see his outfit just now? That presence? It’s a shame he’s not acting in a The Sopranos remake!”

The Sopranos is an old movie also known as Life in the World, depicting the story of a crime family.

Edward Foster laughed, ”You become like a fanatic every time you see Lucas, you’re already his manager now, no need to be a fan anymore.”

Actually, Edward Foster’s heart was still pounding, but he felt Lawrence Winters was more tense and scared, so he deliberately chatted about random things to distract her.

Lawrence Winters actually wasn’t tense anymore, nor was she scared; the only person she dreaded was Kenneth Osborne.

Now that Kenneth Osborne knew, she decided to just go with it, stubborn as ever, no need to hide.

She chatted and laughed with Edward Foster in the car and quickly returned to the hospital.

Kenneth Osborne didn’t say a word the whole way, only speaking when they reached the hospital, ”I’ve already arranged the hospital and contacted the ambulance, they should be coming soon. We’ll go back together.”

Lawrence Winters let out a sigh of relief and said, ”Okay, let’s go back.”

She and Kenneth Osborne got out of the car, Edward Foster stayed inside and didn’t come out.

Lawrence Winters turned back to wave at him, smiling, ”Thanks, Little Mr. Foster! I’ll treat you to a meal next time!”

Edward Foster smiled back and waved as well.

Once Lawrence Winters and Kenneth Osborne were out of sight, he told the driver, ”Take us home first.”
