Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 645: Chapter 339: The World Is So Wondrous (Second Update)_3

The driver restarted the car, and the bodyguard sitting in the front row, who was sent to keep an eye on those three people, had witnessed Lawrence Winters’ ”skills” with his own eyes.

He thought for a moment, and with lingering fear, he turned to Edward Foster and said, ”Young Master, that young lady is really impressive. I think... you’d better not get involved with her.”

”Lawrence? What’s so impressive about her?” Edward Foster said dismissively, ”She just knows a bit of martial arts, and she’s lucky, that’s all.”

The bodyguard recalled seeing through the window the girl’s swift moves, her decisive actions, and precise strength. Could that really be explained away as ”knowing a bit of martial arts”?

And what was that about being ”lucky”?!

A young girl single-handedly and unarmed taking on three men and beating them all down. That wasn’t just luck!

Of course, he wasn’t foolish enough to directly argue with the boss unless he wanted to quit.

So he quickly changed the topic, saying, ”Today, Mr. Harlow put on quite a show. I saw several senior figures following along, but they could only stand in the courtyard like attendants...”

Edward Foster chuckled, feeling a bit uncomfortable. He thought Lucas Harlow was being too cunning. How much did he want to show off in front of Lawrence Winters?

But indeed, he had the capital to show off.

Although the Foster family was wealthy and influential, there were some matters they simply couldn’t settle on their own.

It’s different for Lucas Harlow.

As the sole heir of the Harlow Family and the Stetford Family, if he couldn’t handle it, no one in this world could.

He didn’t want to talk about this topic either, so he just reminded the two men in front, ”You both saw it today. With Lucas backing Miss Winters, watch your words. I don’t want to beg for mercy on your behalf one day!”

”Understood, Young Master. We’ll keep that in mind. For such matters, you should watch your own words.” The driver in front couldn’t help but retort to Edward Foster.

Edward Foster wasn’t angry. He laughed and said, ”Of course I understand the decorum. Someday, Miss Winters might become your Young Master’s wife. Do you think I can’t hold my tongue?”

The two in front exchanged glances, shivering in unison, as if they could already imagine Edward Foster being so beaten by Lawrence Winters that he couldn’t get up...

Rich people really have many quirks. Some like to hit people, and some like to be hit.

They muttered in their heads, not daring to speak it out loud.

...

Lawrence Winters and Kenneth Osborne returned to the hospital room shortly before the ambulance arrived to transfer Nick Zeller.

The professional doctors and nurses got Nick Zeller on the ambulance, while Lawrence Winters, Kenneth Osborne, and Gabrielle Winters followed them onto the vehicle.

Lawrence Winters and Kenneth Osborne were also carrying suitcases.

Seeing this, Gabrielle Winters apologized, ”You were supposed to be on vacation...”

”Mom, don’t say that. If something this serious happened and you didn’t tell me, that would mean you’re treating me as an outsider.” Lawrence Winters hugged Gabrielle Winters’ arm affectionately.

Kenneth Osborne felt a bit uncomfortable hearing this and said lightly, ”...You know too?”

This was implying that when Lawrence Winters didn’t tell him things, it meant she was treating him as an outsider.

Lawrence Winters felt somewhat awkward and pretended not to hear, resting her head on Gabrielle Winters’ shoulder.

Gabrielle Winters noticed that this young couple seemed to have a conflict. She patted Lawrence’s head and said to Kenneth Osborne, ”Ah Yuan, Lawrence is our treasure. She might be a bit temperamental, but she’s not unreasonable. You, as a man, should be more forgiving.”

Kenneth Osborne smiled, ”I know, I will take good care of her.”

Lawrence Winters always felt that when Kenneth Osborne said ”take care,” he had a bit of a gritted-teeth tone.

However, his expression remained calm and composed, as if she was overthinking it.

The ambulance took two and a half hours to return to the city and brought Nick Zeller to a major hospital closest to their family apartment.

This hospital was also where National Doctor Leo Carter practiced.

Kenneth Osborne sent numerous messages to Francis Johnson, and Francis finally replied.

After learning about Nick Zeller’s situation, he immediately agreed to help, contacted the ambulance, and also invited Leo Carter to treat Nick Zeller.

Lawrence Winters saw the chubby, round-faced, and even round-mouthed doctor and felt very amiable, so she quickly approached and asked, ”Are you Dr. Carter? Can you tell me when my uncle’s injury will heal?”

Leo Carter examined the scans taken for Nick Zeller and said lightly, ”It’s not serious; the bruising at the back of the head can absorb itself, or we can do surgery. Which option do you prefer?”

Such an injury in the hands of other doctors would definitely be considered critical.

But for Leo Carter, it was just child’s play.

He explained to them that opting for surgery meant a craniotomy, naturally with risks, but a quicker recovery.

Waiting for the blood to absorb naturally was less risky but would take longer.

Lawrence Winters, being young, leaned towards a quicker recovery, but Gabrielle Winters wanted to be cautious, hoping for natural absorption without surgery.

While they were disputing, Lucas Harlow had already sent those three unconscious men to the hospital where Nick Zeller had been earlier.

He didn’t say much, only having someone mention they were his employees, injured due to a brawl at the construction site, and arranged for their hospital admission.

The doctor treating these three happened to be the same one who had treated Nick Zeller.

When he saw Brandon’s injury diagnosis data, he found it very familiar, especially the X-ray of the comminuted fracture in the leg and the brain CT scan results.

”...Isn’t this a mistake?”

He pondered and searched his computer for a moment, finding Nick Zeller’s X-ray of his legs and brain CT scan results.

Comparing the injuries of the two, he couldn’t help but laugh, shaking his head, ”What a coincidence. Look at the progression and severity of these two injuries; they’re remarkably identical!”

”Even if they were beaten by the same person, they wouldn’t have such precise similarities. — The world is truly fascinating.”
