Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 639: Chapter 338: Winner Winner, Chicken Dinner (First Update)

Lawrence Winters had just gotten off the plane and headed straight for the hospital here.

She was still wearing the casual clothes from the flight: khaki capris, white soft-soled shoes, a loose gray pullover sweatshirt reaching her thighs, sleeves rolled up to her elbows, revealing her fair arms, a common ladies’ watch on her left wrist, along with her engagement ring.

She hadn’t dressed up seriously, her long hair was tied into a bun, and after several hours of flying and driving, some strands were loose at her temples.

A few strands fell by her cheeks, and she raised her hand to tuck the hair behind her ear, then carefully took off her engagement ring and placed it in her pocket.

Then she turned off her phone, put it in her suitcase, and left it in an unobtrusive corner of the hospital room.

As she walked toward the elevator, she raised her wrist to check the time.

It was exactly seven in the morning.

While walking, she quickly estimated in her mind.

Kenneth Osborne was looking for a hospital near their large flat, and once he found it, he’d need to contact a doctor for a bed and room, which would take around thirty-seven minutes to an hour and forty-five minutes.

That’s the time span needed to handle this matter.

So she needed to solve the problem within thirty-seven minutes; otherwise, when Kenneth came to his senses, she might not be able to act freely.

Edward Foster caught up, curiously asking, ”Lawrence, what are you going to do? I can help you.”

Lawrence Winters stopped, smiling, ”Edward, do you have a mask and a baseball cap?”

She knew Edward Foster had these in his car since he was a baseball fan.

Edward Foster indeed smiled and said, ”Yes, I have several! Why? Do you want them?...”

”Yes, lend me a mask, and a baseball cap,” Lawrence Winters walked into the elevator.

Edward Foster followed her in.

They went down to the first floor, and Edward Foster took her to his car to get the items.

Opening a small box in the trunk, Edward handed her a baseball cap.

Lawrence Winters put the cap on; it was a bit big and hung low, nearly covering half her face.

Edward found a box of masks in the car and handed it to Lawrence, but she only took the one on top, ripped open the packaging, and put it on. Then, she pulled the hood of her sweatshirt over the cap.

Finally, she put on sunglasses, covering her entire face so securely that even her mother wouldn’t recognize her if she stood in front of her.

Edward Foster was momentarily stunned, ”Why are you dressed like this? What are you up to?”

”Nothing much, just have a personal vendetta to settle. Edward, do me a favor, stay with my mom and uncle in the hospital room, and let me know immediately if anything comes up,” Lawrence Winters said calmly.

Edward Foster looked at her masked face, thinking, with such a disguise, who would recognize her?

But what kind of personal vendetta requires such a disguise?

Before he could figure it out, Lawrence lightly pressed her hand on his shoulder.

Edward Foster jolted, nearly losing his soul.

When he regained his senses, Lawrence had already walked away.

She had really gone far; in just that brief moment of distraction, Lawrence was already nowhere to be seen.

Edward Foster, filled with doubt, couldn’t help but send Lawrence two messages on WeChat, asking what she was up to and where she was going.

Lawrence Winters didn’t reply.

She didn’t have her phone with her at all.

And she hadn’t gone far, just hid in Edward’s blind spot.

After he looked around and left the parking lot to return to the hospital building, she had already turned onto another small path.

This was a shortcut she found on her phone’s map, faster than driving to where the three people were hiding.

The location of these three people, of course, was given by Edward Foster.

Edward’s people were currently watching them.

She hoped they hadn’t fled before she arrived.

Lawrence Winters had calculated carefully; at her full pace, taking this shortcut to where the three were hiding would take only five minutes and fifteen seconds.

Talking and getting things from Edward had taken three minutes and twenty-seven seconds.

Leaving twenty-eight minutes and eighteen seconds remaining.

Lawrence calculated with precision.

When she arrived at the flat-roofed small brick house where the three were hiding, the countdown was exactly twenty-eight minutes and eighteen seconds.

She quickly surveyed the surroundings.

It’s undeniable that they chose a good hiding spot.

Not far from here were woods and rolling hills, yet the brick house was surrounded by no trees.

It stood isolated by the dusty roadside, seemingly unremarkable, but in fact, had unobstructed views all around.
