Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 1346 - 680: Blood Patterned Vine Reappears_3

Keke is not afraid, why should he be?

Come on!

”You guys, be careful, beneath the ground...!”

Xu Xin hadn’t even finished his sentence when the ground they were standing on began to shake violently!

Then, in an instant, the ground cracked open.

The group watched in horror as several incredibly thick vines, covered in blood patterns, burst out from underground and around them, shooting straight up to the sky!

The scene was all too familiar to Xu Xin and the others!

These were the Blood Patterned Vines from before!

Except that the vines here were even thicker than the thickest ones they’d seen before!

The three women turned pale and were about to draw their weapons on the spot!

”Don’t resist!” Xu Xin hurriedly said.

His words made them hesitate for a moment.

And in that moment of hesitation, the vines whipped towards Xu Xin and the others with astonishing speed, quickly wrapping around their bodies.

”Eee! Eee...!”

With the vines coiled around Xu Xin’s body, Keke was pressed against Xu Xin’s chest, struggling hard to poke a small head out from the vines.

”This...”

Before the four could react, the vines wrapped around them started to ascend once more, straight up!

Carrying the four of them along!

”Oh my God, this...!”

The speed was amazing, and within seconds, they were nearing the base of the tree canopy a hundred meters high!

They were about to crash into the extremely lush canopy!

Just as they were about to hit, a hole suddenly opened in the base of the canopy, and the vines wrapped around Xu Xin and the others took advantage of the opening, pushing them directly into the newly opened hole.

Then everything went black, and they were engulfed in darkness.

But the darkness only lasted for two seconds.

When they could see again, they found themselves in a wooden hall.

Everything in the hall—the floor, the ceiling, the surrounding walls—was made of wooden panels with annual rings, giving off a very old vibe at first glance.

At this moment, the Blood Patterned Vines coiled around them slowly loosened, retracting back into the opening in the ground.

Then, as Xu Xin and the others watched in shock, the gap in the ground quickly healed, leaving only a smooth wooden floor.

”...Did we just... come in like this?” Li Wenxi said incredulously, her voice very low.

Though not quite sure of their exact position within the world tree, it seemed best not to speak loudly.

After all, they were inside the enemy’s world tree!

”...Did you notice those vines just now?” Lou Fei’Er exclaimed in a low voice, ”Aren’t those Blood Patterned Mutant Vines? The kind that would emerge from the ground if you stepped outside the safe zone of the treehouse!”

Among the three women, Jin Yue appeared the calmest. She looked at the ground, which had reverted back after the vines retracted, and said, ”The mutant vines back on our side were created by alien invaders to select humans. It seems... these vines here might be a variant.”

”Yeah.” Xu Xin nodded, ”Sort of like a downgraded version of the vines we just saw.”

Everywhere on their side was filled with the products of downgraded alien invader technology.

However, seeing the complete version of the Blood Patterned Mutant Vines here and being brought into the world tree by them was quite an intriguing experience.

”So, what do we do now?” Lou Fei’Er asked, examining this wooden hall, ”It seems there’s nothing here except...”

She looked toward the front, where a large door stood in the wooden hall.

It was the only door in the room.

”We can only take a look...”

”Wait a moment!”

Xu Xin hadn’t finished speaking when Li Wenxi interrupted him.

She looked at the only door in the wooden cabin, her pupils slightly narrowing, ”Something’s happening! There’s a metal object quickly approaching outside! It seems to be... a small drone?”

Xu Xin squinted his eyes.

He knew it; with the mutant vines making such a big move, it was impossible not to be noticed by individuals inside the world tree.

Fortunately, even though they were wrapped by the Blood Patterned Vines, those vines weren’t the barbed kind, but had a very smooth surface, leaving their cloaking device undamaged.

With the cloaking device intact, as long as they were careful, they wouldn’t be discovered.

”Let’s lean against the wall and stay still.” Xu Xin said in a low voice, then retreated a few steps, leaning against the wall.

”Okay!”

Li Wenxi and the other two women followed suit, retreating a few steps to lean against the wall.

Once the four were prepared, with a creak, the tightly closed door slowly opened.
