Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 1343 - 679: Crimson World Tree Core (3)

”Are you kidding...” Qin Fu was somewhat speechless, ”This is a scarlet crystal...”

”What exactly is going on...?” Xu Ying was also pondering the issue at this moment.

She felt her heart tighten.

What is the scarlet crystal?

It is the Source of Life for the alien invaders!

Previously, they knew the process of converting the scarlet crystal using the white crystal was exceedingly complex, and it couldn’t be achieved on Earth. The white crystal had to be sent back to their home planet.

Because of this, the concentrated scarlet crystal became incredibly precious.

Their plan was built upon this. Destroy the concentrated scarlet crystal, and the alien invaders would lose their Source of Life, fleeing in panic.

But the appearance of the large, unconcentrated scarlet crystal seemed to mock their plan.

If the alien invaders could already manufacture scarlet crystals on Earth, their plan would be in vain!

”I mean, can’t we just pack up and go home?” Qin Fu, looking at the gigantic scarlet crystal, felt he had lost his drive.

He also realized the significance represented by this huge scarlet crystal.

”...No, that’s impossible.” Xu Ying walked towards the scarlet crystal.

Alien invaders shouldn’t be able to refine scarlet crystals on Earth.

There was something wrong with this gigantic scarlet crystal!

The closer she got, the more she felt uneasy.

Because the closer she got, the more comfortable she felt, even her mind seemed to relax.

This was the characteristic of the white crystal.

She reached the edge of the massive crystal and touched it with her hand.

”...This isn’t a scarlet crystal.” Her furrowed brows slowly relaxed, and she let out a long breath, ”This is a normal World Tree core, a white crystal.”

”White crystal?” Zeng Tao raised his head to look at the entire crystal, ”But it’s red, isn’t it?”

Xu Ying was also a bit perplexed.

Despite exhibiting the properties of a white crystal, why would it display the color of a scarlet crystal?

Something peculiar...

Hmm?

Xu Ying thought of a possibility.

Her eyes slowly widened.

”Ah, I figured it out!” She clapped her hands and looked up at the enormous crystal in front of her, gradually stepping back.

As she retreated, gradually, the full image of the World Tree core appeared in her vision.

Having once again seen the crystal wholly, her eyes became brighter: ”I know what’s going on!”

”Ah? What’s going on? Is it really not a scarlet crystal?” Wen Guixin asked.

”No, it definitely isn’t.” Xu Ying chuckled, ”However, the scarlet glow does relate to our target in some way.”

The others were confused.

What does she mean?

”Think about it, where can we see the World Tree core within our World Tree?” Xu Ying prompted.

”Where... in the underground space?” Zeng Tao replied.

Within their World Tree, in the underground space, which is currently the control area occupied by Ji Chaoyang and his team, the core of the World Tree can be seen.

The underground space is wrapped by the root system of the World Tree, and right above the entire area, a portion of the World Tree core is exposed.

The reason this area is very bright is due to the light emanating from the part of the World Tree core protruding from the dome.

The upper half of the World Tree core, like the Tree House core, is above the ground, which is the part Xu Ying and her team are currently seeing.

This means the position of the World Tree core is confirmed.

Below the core is the underground space, with the lower part of the core exposed in the underground space. Meanwhile, the upper part of the core is exposed within the hollow area at the center of the World Tree trunk.

In simpler terms, the World Tree core is wedged into the ground, with the underground space below and the hollow area within the trunk above.

”Oh...” Qin Fu suddenly understood, ”That’s how it is.”

”How?” Zeng Tao turned to him with a face full of curiosity, ”Why is it like this?”

”Think about it, where is our target we’re looking for?” Qin Fu asked.

”You mean the scarlet crystal? Isn’t it right in the underground space?” Zeng Tao pointed below.

”Oh!” Wen Guixin also understood and revealed a similar expression of sudden realization, ”I get it too...”

”What? How come you all understand?” Zeng Tao looked puzzled.

”Not everyone understands, at least I don’t.” Zhao Xiaochuan pointed at his nose.

”I don’t understand either.” Wang Lei scratched his head.

Xu Ying explained to them.

The reason was actually quite simple.

As previously mentioned, below the World Tree core is the underground space, and the extremely dazzling scarlet crystal is located in the World Tree’s underground space.

The light emitted by the scarlet crystal is penetrating the World Tree core located at the dome of the underground space, turning the entire World Tree core a crimson red.

The World Tree core acts like a lens, allowing the light from the scarlet crystal underground to pass through it and reach the ground where Xu Ying and her team are now located.

Thus, they saw what appeared to be a scarlet glow-emitting but indeed a regular World Tree core.

Regarding evidence...

Xu Ying had just observed the entirety of the World Tree core; the scarlet color near the ground on the lower part was noticeably denser than the upper part, confirming her hypothesis.

The scarlet light shines from below upward, as the white crystal isn’t fully transparent, so naturally, the farther up you go, the lighter the color becomes.

At the very top, the red is quite faint.

Strictly speaking, this isn’t a scarlet World Tree core but a gradient-colored World Tree core.

From bottom to top, it gradually transitions from a heavier scarlet to white crystal.

It’s just that the entire crystal is so large that it’s difficult to observe the whole picture, and everyone was shocked by the scarlet light, so they didn’t realize this situation at first.

”So, the scarlet glow is actually released by the scarlet crystal?” Zeng Tao finally understood and said excitedly, ”Doesn’t that mean we are very close to the scarlet crystal now! The crystal is right beneath our feet! We can see the glow, so close!”

”Though it is right under our feet...”

Qin Fu stomped on the ground and said somewhat helplessly, ”But we don’t know how to get down there; the fellow who knew how just died.”

Everyone glanced around.

Indeed, how do they get down there?

The scarlet crystal is already within reach, isn’t it?
