Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 1330 - 675: The Duel of Missiles and Anti-Missiles

One hour ago, on the other side of Earth.

After the purple-black light beam suddenly shot into the sky from the ground, everyone within the World Tree began to discuss this beam.

”Did you see that? It’s really bending! Although slowly, it’s really bending!”

”This thing is really a Transmission Array!”

”Such a large Transmission Array, I’m... I’m beginning to feel scared...”

Some people started to fear what might emerge from the Transmission Array.

”What are you afraid of, nothing to fear, just blast it! Blast it!”

Some people advocated attacking it without hesitation.

”It’s too far, really too far, can’t reach it...”

”We can’t clearly see what the situation is over there, just know there’s a light beam, this...”

Because this massive purple-black light beam was over a hundred kilometers from the World Tree, they couldn’t go out to investigate the situation firsthand.

Thus, whether it was those controlling weapons to attack externally or Ji Chaoyang and others, they could only speculate within the World Tree.

”At the rate this purple-black light beam is bending, if the two light beams want to connect completely, it should take quite a bit of time.”

Ji Chaoyang estimated the bending speed of the beam with his eyes, quickly calculating in his mind: ”It should take at least more than half an hour in external time, two days within the World Tree, and we still have a chance to prevent the Transmission Array from connecting.”

”Prevent...” Qi Xuefei’s eyes opened slightly as she immediately looked at Ji Chaoyang, ”In the scenario you predicted for the day after tomorrow, is there this Transmission Array beam?”

”No.” Ji Chaoyang replied with great certainty, ”In my prediction, there were no such things in the sky, so maybe we really can successfully prevent the Transmission Array from connecting.”

He was not making a bluff.

In his prediction, he indeed did not see such a thick purple-black light bridge.

”Not in the prediction?” Ma Hongwei, who was initially very tense, relaxed considerably and then his mind quickly began to work, considering strategies, ”Can we stop this Transmission Array...”

”How to stop it?” Qin Yunhu asked, ”Should we use the nuclear missiles we have to attack them?”

”Not enough range.” Ma Hongwei shook his head, then his eyes brightened, ”No, maybe it’s enough!”

Their weapons were designed for speed at the expense of range, but they could reach beyond a hundred kilometers, though with a significant aiming error and greatly reduced speed.

But that beam has a diameter of at least a kilometer, not to mention the Transmission Array emitting the beam, which was even more extensive!

The area was immense, the target was huge, and it would not move.

So, even if their missiles had a large error and their speed greatly decreased, as long as enough were fired, they could definitely attack that Transmission Array!

The power of nuclear missiles was enough to devastate the ground, capable of dealing a devastating blow to the Transmission Array!

”We attack!”

Ma Hongwei immediately shared what he was thinking.

”Okay, what we have in abundance now are nuclear missiles!” Ji Chaoyang immediately agreed.

He acted swiftly and issued a command to everyone: ”Everyone, target the Transmission Array, attack with nuclear missiles!”

The group received the order and immediately responded.

”Attack, must attack!”

”It’s too far! Can we hit it?”

”Doesn’t matter if we hit or not, carpet bombing will definitely hit it!”

In an instant, countless missiles shot out of the World Tree at fifty times the speed of sound, blasting towards the location of that sky-reaching purple-black light beam!

Outside the World Tree, the gigantic worm surrounding Crystal City writhed its terrifyingly large body a few times.

Then, its originally hundreds-meter-long body slowly drooped down limply.

Its original body height was extremely high, blocking most of the World Tree’s canopy, effectively rendering much of the World Tree’s external weapons useless.

But now it seemed to have realized and let the part of its body blocking the canopy droop down, exposing most of the canopy.

Of course, even the comparatively limp body of the giant worm had a height of nearly a hundred meters, blocking below the canopy very tightly.

It seemed determined to protect this World Tree.

”As expected of a behemoth!”

”Its intelligence might be about the same as ours, right?”

”This giant worm has lived for hundreds of years, maybe even smarter than us!”

”Impressive... hey, the first wave of missiles is about to hit!”

Although at fifty times the speed of sound, crossing a hundred kilometers still took time.

And the World Tree slowed this speed by a hundred times, allowing the people inside to observe the missile flight process relatively clearly.

At this moment, the missiles were finally nearing the purple-black beam.

”They’re about to hit!”

”Almost there, almost there!”

”Blast it! Blast it, damn it! Blast...”

”Oh crap!”

The missiles exploded with a thunderous bang when they were about ten kilometers away from the Transmission Array beam!

Not just one, but all the missiles that reached that distance seemed to hit an invisible air wall, impacted, and exploded prematurely!

Dozens of mushroom clouds rose slowly into the air, with thick smoke forming a heavy wall of smoke that obscured the view of what lay beyond it.

”Cease firing!” Ji Chaoyang immediately ordered everyone to stop.
