Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 1344 - 680: Blood Patterned Vine Reappears

At the same time, on the ground.

Xu Xin, Li Wenxi, and the others had already arrived beneath another World Tree.

The journey was smooth, without encountering any active creatures.

This surprised them greatly.

”What do you think, where have those alien invaders gone?” Li Wenxi sighed, ”Could it be that they all left with the giant spaceships? Did they all move out?”

”Is it possible that the area under the World Tree was never meant for habitation?” Xu Xin couldn’t help but laugh.

”Oh, I know, people live inside the World Tree, but still...”

Li Wenxi looked in the direction of the purple-black light beam.

A small city surrounded the purple-black light beam.

There were various strange buildings and streets, but at this moment, the city was silent.

”Not everyone can be living inside the World Tree, right? Isn’t there a small city over there?” Li Wenxi pointed over there and said.

”But this is near the World Tree.” Lou Fei’Er chimed in, ”It’s like... the backyard of the landlord? Ordinary alien invaders probably can’t get close, right?”

”Makes sense, but still...” Li Wenxi looked at the city surrounding the purple-black light beam, ”How come there’s not a single person in sight over there?”

”Maybe the alien invaders living there really all left with the giant spaceships.” Jin Yue also looked at the city, ”Those who lived here were probably all subordinates of the alien high command.”

Xu Xin nodded in agreement.

Indeed. World Trees of alien invaders spread across the planet, and all the alien invaders total only tens of thousands in number.

Most alien invaders have their own World Trees and do not live at this headquarters.

As for those who remained at the headquarters, they were probably all members of the alien invader military.

Now that all four giant spaceships have set sail, these military members would naturally leave with the spaceships.

”Didn’t leave anyone to guard, huh...” Lou Fei’Er was puzzled, ”I know they never expected us to come here to invade, but with their internal rivalries intensifying, aren’t they worried other alien invaders might come over?”

”I don’t think they need to worry.” Li Wenxi looked up.

The few of them were now located beneath the canopy of the target World Tree.

Looking up, there was the lush and verdant canopy of the World Tree, standing out starkly in this vast sea of sand.

”If we didn’t have these invisible cloaks, we’d probably be blasted to bits before getting close to the World Tree.” Li Wenxi observed the dense canopy.

Her abilities allowed her to detect the metal-based external weapons concealed within the World Tree canopy clearly.

The number of these external weapons was far greater than she had imagined, densely packed, and...

They were all active.

These external weapons slowly moved their heads over time, clearly automatically searching for targets.

These weapons were all in automatic mode. If discovered by them, they might unleash an overwhelming firestorm in an instant.

If not for Zhao Xiaochuan’s cloak of invisibility, even with Xu Ying to transport them elsewhere, they wouldn’t be unscathed because Xu Ying couldn’t teleport everyone away instantly.

She might not even react in time herself.

”Oh right, there are external weapons installed in the World Tree canopy...” Lou Fei’Er’s eyebrows twitched slightly, ”The journey was so safe, I almost forgot about it...”

The protection from the World Tree itself was extremely rigorous.

No need to worry about any intrusions.

But they didn’t expect someone with Zhao Xiaochuan’s ability could lower their presence enough to avoid detection, from both living beings and machines.

This allowed Xu Xin and the others to move freely in such a perilous area.

”Moreover, not everyone may have left.”

Xu Xin looked at the World Tree in front of him and then at the city around the purple-black light beam.

”My guess is, the alien invaders living in the city near the Transmission Array are likely military members, who aren’t in the World Tree, can assemble quickly, and act swiftly. Those inside the World Tree might be senior members or researchers.”

This guess is likely the layout orchestrated by the alien high command.

Having the military members live outside the World Tree, besides protecting it and being easier to mobilize, perhaps prevents military members from bringing weapons inside.

This way, even if there are rogue individuals among the military with ulterior motives, no matter how powerful their weapons, they can’t harm core members.

He warned the three women beside him: ”So, when entering the World Tree, be very careful. If my hypothesis holds, there are indeed not many alien invaders outside the World Tree now, but there are likely many inside!”

Li Wenxi nodded in agreement: ”Exactly, the alien high command wouldn’t all go on an expedition with the spaceships, right? There must be many alien invaders inside the World Tree, and surely, they are key figures!”

Xu Xin thought for a moment.

If there’re researchers or pampered alien invaders, would it be easier to fool them?

Perhaps they might even manage to eliminate some, who knows.
