Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 1318 - 671: Come On, Let’s Go Pillage!

”Ah, it worked!” Li Wenxi whispered in surprise, ”I really managed to pry it off!”

Even Xu Xin and the others were a bit stunned.

So easily?

Just like that... it came off?

”Does this count as a success?” Li Wenxi asked, somewhat unsure, looking at the expressions of the three people around her.

”It’s a success!” Zhao Xiaochuan looked at the now empty groove on the platform, ”I can’t believe an entire piece came out just like that!”

”Of course it’s a success.” Xu Xin nodded with a smile.

”Our sister-in-law is amazing!” Xu Ying squatted down, wearing sunglasses as she examined the Crystal Stone.

”Hehe.” Li Wenxi embarrassedly put away her little pickaxe, ”I feel like I didn’t really do anything...”

”...Let’s put it away quickly.” Xu Xin frowned, glancing at the red crystal block on the ground that had been pried out from the groove.

With this thing pried out, fully revealed, the red glow it emitted became even brighter.

This brighter red glow made the surrounding machinery work harder.

It was already beginning to affect Xu Xin and the others who hadn’t touched the red crystal.

”Being under this light... feels a bit uncomfortable.” Li Wenxi covered her head, frowning.

”Yeah... I didn’t feel like this before...” Zhao Xiaochuan shook his head.

”Ying...” Keke immediately shrank entirely into Xu Xin’s cloak.

Xu Xin also felt his scalp itching.

A familiar sensation.

As if something was trying to crawl out of his scalp.

”Bro, put it away. Just put it in your backpack.” Xu Ying lightly kicked with her foot, speaking to Xu Xin.

”Alright.” Xu Xin nodded.

He didn’t want to touch this thing with his hands.

Just now, Zhao Xiaochuan merely touched it with a finger and that situation happened; if he grabbed it, it would probably be worse.

So, he opened his backpack, used the bag’s opening to cover the small red crystal, then scooped it into the backpack.

The moment he covered it, the mechanical operating sounds of the entire factory immediately reduced, gradually calming down.

The discomfort Xu Xin and the others felt was also alleviated, eventually disappearing.

”Phew... This is what that monster referred to as the Source of Life of those alien invaders, right?” Li Wenxi looked at Xu Xin’s backpack and said, ”I didn’t expect, even such a small piece can make us so uncomfortable. If we were to face that one as big as a treehouse red crystal...”

Xu Xin pursed his lips.

Yes, it seemed they absolutely couldn’t face that red crystal directly.

Even this small, it was already affecting them; such a huge crystal in front of them...

”It feels like even the genetic serum won’t hold it back; afraid we would mutate instantly...” Xu Ying said with some helplessness, ”It’s a bit tricky.”

”Isn’t there a way though?” Zhao Xiaochuan pointed at the cloaks Xu Xin and the others were wearing, ”Just wear equipment, right? Didn’t that monster say that those alien invaders wear some kind of protective gear when they get close to that crystal? We just need to steal that kind of protective gear.”

As he spoke, he confidently patted his chest, ”Leave the stealing to me, my skills aren’t just for show.”

Xu Xin touched his chin.

It did seem they might really need something like that.

”Such matters, maybe we should first infiltrate and then see.” Xu Ying waved her hand, ”Our task is to destroy that crystal, not take it with us, so there’s no need to get too close.”

”That’s true too...” Zhao Xiaochuan scratched his head.

”However, there’s a chance we might genuinely need it, then we’d depend on you.” Xu Xin said.

”Ha, leave it to me when the time comes!”

At this moment, Li Wenxi tugged on Xu Xin’s arm and whispered, ”Should we leave now? Uh... Something doesn’t feel right here...”

”What’s wrong?” Xu Xin whispered.

”Those things these machines are producing around us...” Li Wenxi pointed around, ”With my ability, I can see they seem to be about to...”

Before Li Wenxi finished her sentence, unusual clicking and clanking noises started to sound in the previously quiet factory.

Then, flat metallic objects, resembling UFOs, began rising from these machines, emitting red lights.

”Zzz—Zzz—”

They even emitted piercing alarm sounds!

”Ying! Yingying!” Keke immediately grabbed Xu Xin’s arm with her little paws, anxiously squeaking.

Its meaning was simple: Go quickly! There’s danger!

”Clang!” The factory’s door, which was originally left slightly open, automatically shut with a heart-stopping metal collision sound.

Thoughts flashed through Xu Xin’s mind like lightning, and he instantly grasped the current situation.

”...The red crystal here was taken, and this is the alarm! We need to go, fast!”

Before Xu Xin’s words finished, Xu Ying had already grabbed the three of them.

Then, a purple-black vortex appeared beneath them, and the four immediately fell into it, disappearing without a trace.

”Zzz—Zzz—Zzz—Zzz—”

Countless UFO-like objects rose from the machines, hovered in the air, then began rotating back and forth within the sealed factory.

Flying faster and faster, faster and faster!

Then, one of the small UFOs seemed to lose control, crashing into one of the machines.

”Boom!!!”

An explosive flash erupted inside the metal factory with a deafening explosion!

This explosion affected the other UFOs, causing a chain reaction of explosions!
