Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 1340 - 678: Target Shift_3

If he didn’t go along with Keke’s wish, if he didn’t go to the other World Tree, then this mission would probably fail.

He had speculated before that this little guy Keke was a tiny creature that had come from the future.

It probably really knew some things that Xu Xin and the others didn’t.

”Keke, huh...” Xu Ying went quiet for a moment, then nodded. ”Alright, we’ll handle things on this side.”

”Huh?” Wen Guixin looked completely baffled. ”What’s going on? What kind of riddles are you siblings playing? Why are you doing this now of all times...”

Xu Ying looked instead at the little guy in Xu Xin’s arms.

She had also lived in their World Tree for several months, and the only thing she couldn’t see through was this little guy who looked lazy and extremely sleepy all day long.

More than once she’d even been influenced by this little thing and fallen asleep herself.

Just now too...

This little thing was very mysterious.

”We split up. You go find where the red crystal is. I’ll take Keke to the other World Tree,” Xu Xin said.

”No, but why are we suddenly splitting up? Fine, fine, I can see you’re not going to listen anyway. Then what do we do after that?” Wen Guixin walked back and stood at the cave entrance, but didn’t step out.

”Once you find the red crystal, we’ll regroup here,” Xu Xin said, pointing to their current location.

First find the red crystal’s location.

A scarlet crystal as big as a treehouse wasn’t something you could just say ”destroy” and then destroy.

Their original plan had been to first locate the red crystal, then temporarily retreat to a safe area and figure out a way to destroy it.

With Xu Ying around, as long as they found the red crystal’s location, even if they left, they could go back at any time.

Xu Xin looked at Li Wenxi and said softly, ”You go with them. It’ll be dangerous either way, but with Yingying over there, it’ll be a lot safer.”

”No, I’m going with you.” Li Wenxi shook her head and moved to stand at Xu Xin’s side. ”My ability can help you.”

Xu Xin glanced again at Lou Fei’Er and Jin Yue standing behind him.

The four of them.

That was enough.

”Nnngh...” Keke started staring toward that World Tree again, its eyes opened wide and round.

”You’re really not coming? Then I’ll go with you guys too... hey, hey!”

Because of everything that was happening, Zeng Tao’s head was a complete mess. She stood in the cave, at a total loss. Seeing that Xu Xin and the others really weren’t planning on coming in, she hurriedly tried to run out.

But the cave entrance seemed unwilling to grant her wish. The slow healing and growing suddenly sped up sharply, and in an instant it began to grow like crazy!

In that instant, the entrance sealed shut.

The people inside and outside the cave were truly cut off from each other.

”Ah!” Zeng Tao slapped the sealed wooden wall. ”Those bastards! Argh!”

She quickly stumbled back a couple of steps.

Because the wooden wall was still growing and healing, it grew toward their side, hemming them in.

Zeng Tao’s hand had almost been directly swallowed up by the growing wood.

She looked behind her.

The alien invaders were still corroding their way forward, opening a path. The speed of the corrosion was about the same as the speed at which the trunk was growing.

”Tsk, forget about those guys!” Wen Guixin said, a bit annoyed. ”We’ll just finish our own mission!”

Xu Ying glanced at the now-closed entrance that was still continuing to grow, pressed her lips together, and said, ”Yeah, let’s find the scarlet crystal’s location first.”

...

”Wow... Sister Gui Xin really seemed pretty mad...” Li Wenxi muttered under her breath, then turned to look at Xu Xin and said helplessly, ”Doing things like this... isn’t it a bit too unplanned?”

”Didn’t you still come with me?” Xu Xin said with a smile.

”So, what do we do now?” Lou Fei’Er looked toward that distant World Tree, then bent down to stare into Keke’s big eyes in Xu Xin’s arms. ”Hey, little guy, don’t you go getting us killed!”

”Nnngh!” Keke lifted its little head and tugged on Xu Xin’s clothes. ”Nnngh nngh!”

”Alright, alright, we’re going.” Xu Xin rubbed the little guy’s head.

Target change.

Go see what was in that World Tree that could have this little Keke so obsessed.
