Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 1307 - 667: Power of the Giant Insect, The Real Danger (2)

The part of the worm’s abdomen that is close to the ground and used for wriggling is brownish.

It was such a giant insect, looking quite ordinary except for its size, that strolled leisurely through the storm of bullets and shells just now.

Even the mutagenic blood potion was completely ineffective against it.

”So now... what should we do?”

Although the World Tree was covered, making it impossible to see outside from the Crystal City beneath it, those at the console could still freely observe the external situation.

It had been a long time since those inside the World Tree had taken action.

Even the alien invader armies outside had not acted for at least ten minutes.

In those ten minutes outside, almost sixteen to seventeen hours had already passed inside the World Tree.

Even those operating the external weapons of the World Tree to attack outward had already been replaced by a new team, as the first group had been holding on for several days and needed rest.

”Should we take this opportunity to launch an attack, or should we continue to wait?” Qi Xuefei asked.

”...What do you all think?” Ji Chaoyang asked.

”My opinion is...” Qin Yunlong pondered, ”Let’s keep waiting. Wasn’t our task to stall for time? You mentioned before, if we launch an attack, it would provoke another battle and speed up the pace of the conflict.”

”But the situation is different now,” Qin Yunhu disagreed, ”We have the giant insect. Now they can’t harm us for the time being. The situation fully benefits us, so why give up the attack?”

It seemed like this was the first time Qin Yunhu had spoken at such length.

It appeared that he believed it was the best time to attack.

However...

”In my view, the opponent’s thoughts might be quite similar to ours right now,” Ji Chaoyang said, ”They are probably... dragging out the time too.”

They had never used higher-powered weapons against the giant insect, perhaps because... they didn’t bring any.

Before the giant insect appeared, the World Tree had already been engaged in a battle with them for an hour.

During this hour, the power of the weapons they used against the World Tree was somewhat subtle.

If they hit the World Tree, those weapons might have had a stronger effect, perhaps even causing the World Tree to wither.

But if they missed the World Tree and were destroyed, the power of those weapon explosions was truly unimpressive.

They were even less powerful than the conventional weapons in their hands, not to mention the nuclear weapons they had been continually firing.

If the opponent could fire a nuclear weapon, even if it exploded outside Crystal City, it would have a significant impact on the World Tree and Crystal City, potentially directly affecting the external weapons on the World Tree’s crown.

But the opponent had never used high-powered weapons and continuously fired missiles that could make the World Tree wither, but unfortunately, not a single one hit, as all were intercepted.

Ji Chaoyang didn’t believe the opponent lacked nuclear weapons or weapons more powerful than nuclear.

There was only one possibility.

They simply didn’t carry weapons with strong power!

This cannot blame them for inadequate preparation.

Their aircraft carried numerous missiles capable of withering the World Tree, and they hadn’t exhausted them after an hour of firing.

That preparation was certainly thorough.

They must not have anticipated that the humans on Earth, who had been prisoners for a millennium, could intercept missiles traveling over twenty times the speed of sound!

Moreover, there is now an extraordinarily unreasonable giant insect choosing to help humans.

Under such circumstances...

”So, they might be... requesting reinforcements?” Qi Xuefei murmured.

”Yes,” Ji Chaoyang nodded, ”Their reinforcements are likely already on the way, and when they arrive, it will be the start of the next big battle.”

”So now we...”

”If my guess is correct, then of course we should take action,” Ji Chaoyang said, ”Because whether we act or not, as soon as their reinforcements arrive, they will definitely act, so why not take this chance to eliminate more enemies?”

”...Are our weapons still sufficient?” Qin Yunlong asked.

”Plenty. The survivors above are still producing weapons at the fastest speed,” Ji Chaoyang checked the communication device, ”We haven’t launched an attack recently, so our weapon count is even greater than before the battle started. And we’ve only consumed less than 2% of our weapon materials.”

The people controlling the weapons here were all residents of the underground world, with almost no survivors, because all the survivors living inside the World Tree were in the treehouses, using their super production capabilities to desperately produce weapons.

They hadn’t stopped for a moment.

Before leaving, Li Wenxi also left behind a lot of raw materials, enough for them to squander for a long time.

”Then what are we waiting for? Let’s attack!”

...

”What did you say? Alright... I understand...”

In another World Tree on the other side of the Earth, Old Yang was contacting his informant.

He looked incredulous, even turning to Xu Xin and the others before hanging up the call.

After entering the World Tree, Xu Xin had already released everyone from the bracelet.

Except for the monster.

Because the monster said that its presence might be detected by the opponent.

After all, it shares half the bloodline of the enemy, and the enemy seems to be able to locate its own kind.
