Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 970: Chapter 551: Can I Still Return to the Original World?

When she woke up, Shi Wanyun was already dressed, lying on a very hard, somewhat uncomfortable stone slab.

She slowly opened her eyes and looked up at the ceiling, which was three or four meters high.

The ceiling was made of metal, glistening with a metallic sheen under the dim light.

Where is this...?

Though her head still felt a bit dizzy, she didn’t act rashly. Instead, she closed her eyes slowly once more.

It was very quiet around her, no sounds at all, it seemed there was nothing else present.

Previously...she should have been brought here by that voluptuous mature woman, right?

Is that woman not here anymore?

After waiting a while and listening carefully, there was still no sound. She opened her eyes, slowly sat up, looked around, and began to examine her surroundings carefully.

The room was about thirty to forty square meters.

Unlike before, the walls, floor, and ceiling here were all made of special metal, rather than the textured wooden planks typical of a treehouse.

The entire room was like a prison. Although not small, it gave a very oppressive feeling.

Moreover, the entire metal room was empty, with only a tightly closed metal door, and not even a window.

Not completely empty, though, since this metal bed she was on... no, perhaps it couldn’t be called a bed, just a bed-shaped metal block, was the only object in this space.

On this metal block, some blood patterns identical to those on mutated creatures were engraved.

”Huh...?”

She was somewhat horrified to see that the blood patterns on this metal block actually...

...crawled onto her like worms!

Instinctively, she wanted to jump off the metal block, away from this strange metal item.

But something even stranger happened.

The blood patterns that crawled onto her like worms tightened around her like ropes, binding her body tightly, covering her entirely with blood patterns and making it impossible for her to leave this metal bed!

She could only maintain a sitting posture on this metal block and couldn’t leave!

She tried to struggle a little, and at that moment, the blood patterns on the metal bed and covering her body suddenly lit up!

Then, she felt like her strength was being absorbed, and instantly her whole body felt weak and limp, leaning back, reverting to the lying position she was in when she awoke.

After a few heavy breaths, Shi Wanyun sat up on the bed again.

”The current situation...”

She was somewhat unclear but, at least for now, she seemed to be in no immediate danger.

She vaguely remembered that when the mature woman seized her, there was a hint of joy in her eyes.

Looking at it this way, she was still useful to them for the time being.

She clenched her hand and found that the strength that had just been drained had already returned to her.

Trying to struggle again, sure enough, the blood patterns lit up once more, and once again, she lost her strength, falling weakly onto the hard and cold metal bed.

She looked at the metallic sheen of the ceiling, feeling a bit powerless.

It seemed there was nothing she could do now.

It seemed she could only wait.

Lying on the cold metal bed, Shi Wanyun pondered her current situation while silently waiting for someone who could change her circumstances.

She didn’t have to wait long before there was a clicking sound from the metal door.

Before the door opened, she closed her eyes, pretending she was still asleep.

Because she had heard two sets of footsteps.

The footsteps grew closer and ultimately stopped beside her.

”She should be waking up soon.”

A somewhat hoarse and aged voice sounded in front of her, like that of an elderly woman in her seventies or eighties.

”According to the amount of Red Mist she inhaled, she should awaken within at most half an hour.”

This voice was very familiar.

It was the mature woman!

”Good.” The old woman’s voice sounded again.

”Unexpectedly, among this batch of survivors, someone could achieve this. All right, after she wakes up, you will ask her about the process of her coming here. You won’t need me to teach you beyond that, will you?”

”Yes, rest assured.”

”Hmm...” The sound of the old woman’s footsteps could be heard, moving slowly toward the door, ”I’ll leave the opportunity to you young ones. I won’t participate, I won’t be around for much longer anyway.”

”...But your research will be passed down through generations.”

”Haha, very well, I’m leaving.”

The old woman exited the room.

Lying on the bed, Shi Wanyun heard a click, suggesting she casually shut the door behind her.

After the old woman left, the mature woman let out a noticeable sigh.

Then she walked to Shi Wanyun’s side.

”I know you’re awake, you don’t need to pretend.” The woman’s somewhat calm voice sounded above her.

Shi Wanyun didn’t persist any longer and slowly opened her eyes.

The mature woman had changed into another set of clothes.

In the room filled with swirling Red Mist earlier, what she wore was very luxurious, but now, she had changed into relatively plain clothes.

Moreover, her expression softened significantly, no longer seeming unreachable and aloof.

Shi Wanyun sat up from the bed, somewhat confusedly asked, ”Could you tell me, what exactly is the situation now?”

She felt that now, this mature woman should be able to communicate normally.
