Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 966: Chapter 549: Reunion After More Than 50 Years (Part 3)

”...Ha?” Lou Fei’Er was slightly stunned, then widened her eyes, ”What do you mean? Is it that shocking?”

”The two of them are definitely inside doing things they can’t let others see! I heard the sounds!” Zeng Tao snorted, ”If you’re interested, go take a look yourself.”

”Then I’ll go take a look right now!... Yeah, right.” Lou Fei’Er gave Zeng Tao a sidelong glance, ”You think I’m stupid? How could Xu Xin be doing that with that woman? So what’s really going on, did Shi Wanyun agree to say?”

”What makes you think he wouldn’t do such things?”

”? Am I worse than that Shi Wanyun?”

”... Hmph, smart of you to figure it out.”

Zeng Tao was ordered out by Xu Xin. The contract was still in place, and she didn’t dare run back on her own. She originally wanted to drag Lou Fei’Er over to take a look, but the plan failed.

She walked over to Lou Fei’Er and reached out to touch Keke in her arms, then told Lou Fei’Er about what had just happened.

”That guy injected the serum too...” Lou Fei’Er showed a teasing smile, ”Someone hasn’t even injected it yet though.”

”... Hmph!” Zeng Tao gritted her teeth, ”I’m sacrificing myself for the comfort of the World Tree! The World Tree can’t do without my protection!”

”Alright, alright, well... I’ll wait a little longer then.” Lou Fei’Er gently rubbed the head of the little one in her arms, making the little one let out a comfortable ”mm” in its sleep, ”I have things to discuss with him too, but what’s happening with Shi Wanyun is more important.”

”Oh? What do you need to discuss?”

”It’s... I found a great spot.” Lou Fei’Er smiled mysteriously and patted Keke’s small head again, ”Thanks to this little one.”

...

In the treehouse, Shi Wanyun was already recounting her story.

”Soon, we arrived at the so-called baptism site.”

At this point, Shi Wanyun’s gaze suddenly trembled, and Xu Xin saw her previously relaxed hands now clenched tightly.

”There, I met the true form of the so-called master.”

The true form of the master, meaning the true form of an alien invader.

Xu Xin’s eyes narrowed slightly as he continued to listen to her story.

The baptism site was a place... akin to an indoor hot spring.

Upon pushing the door open, warm mist swirled.

This space was large, nearly ten meters high, spanning several hundred square meters. On the walls all around, countless light red streams of water fell like waterfalls into the large pool in the center of the area.

The mist was also light red and exuded a refreshing fragrance.

Shi Wanyun’s gaze shifted.

She was very familiar with this scent; it was the fragrance of the Red Mist after being diluted.

This baptism... was it meant to induce the bloodline mutation in them first?

There were thirteen people in the room.

Like Shi Wanyun and her partner, they were all in pairs.

It was easy to tell newcomers from veteran members. The veteran members’ bodies showed more or less some inhuman traits, while the newcomers had none.

Moreover, the clothes these six newcomers were wearing were exactly the same as what Shi Wanyun was currently wearing.

She had been wearing this outfit since she woke up, likely put on her by Number 228.

What made her feel a bit creepy was that these newcomers all had rosy cheeks, looked excited, and had a hint of fanaticism in their eyes.

It seemed as if this baptism was a wish they had long wanted to fulfill, and that wish was about to come true.

It was like a cult scene.

... What exactly was this baptism, and should she run away?

Or should she just stay and see it through?

... No.

Among the thirteen people, there was one person who was alone—a woman who looked very mature and voluptuous.

She didn’t have any obvious mutation traits and looked just like an ordinary person.

However, this woman gave Shi Wanyun a very dangerous feeling, much more dangerous than the high-level mutated creatures outside!

Moreover, seeing Number 228’s extremely respectful attitude, it was clear how high this woman’s status was!

No.

This woman was too dangerous; it was still better to go along with their process for now.

At least for now, she wouldn’t transform into a monster.

The mature woman looked around at the people and clapped her hands, saying, ”There’s about ten minutes left before the baptismal pool is ready. Since you’re all here, let’s start getting ready.”

”Yes!”

The others responded in unison, and then Number 228 reached out towards Shi Wanyun’s nape.

”Ah!” Shi Wanyun let out a small cry of surprise.

Because, with Number 228’s actions, the clothes she wore slipped entirely to the ground.

Instantly, she was left with not a stitch on her body.

For a moment, Shi Wanyun felt utterly exposed.

However, fortunately, everyone here was a woman...

Number 228 somehow produced a wet white cloth and started wiping down Shi Wanyun’s body.

Shi Wanyun’s expression was strange, overwhelmed with too many questions to ask.

But remembering Number 228’s earlier advice to keep quiet, and seeing the mature woman noticing her with a frown, she held back, relaxing her body and allowing Number 228 to wipe her down.

The others around were all going through the same motions.

And those newcomers were looking even more excited.

Shi Wanyun noticed that two newcomers already had blood-colored markings on their bodies, indicating they had already undergone the bloodline mutation, and these markings were faintly glowing in the light red mist.

Very quickly, Shi Wanyun was thoroughly wiped down.

”The time has come, into the pool now,” the mature woman instructed.

Into the pool...

Shi Wanyun was led by Number 228 to the edge of the light red pool, then...

Before she had time to react, she was directly pushed into the pool!

With a splash, she fell into the water.

And at that moment, she felt intense heat surging into her body through every pore!

In an instant, her face flushed red, and she raised her head out of the pool, taking deep breaths.

With each breath, the light red mist around her was inhaled in large quantities.

”What’s the matter with you?” the mature woman’s voice came from above her.

She looked up to find the mature woman standing at the pool’s edge, looking down at her, and...

In her eyes glimmered a dangerous red gleam.

”Number 228, what is her condition?” The woman’s voice had turned slightly icy.
